Chapter 267: Little monk talks
That night, Chi Lian spent over two hours on phone with Muyang and the babies, in a video call where they discussed everything from the shop to her new employee and his day.
Muyang did not forget to complain like a jealous toddler who wanted mummy all to himself about the fact that once again, she had sent sweet treats to his friends.
Chi Lian said that she was simply marketing her new product. Aside from tea, the Chu’s also manufactured yoghurt and the thick version of nutro was almost like yoghurt and it had an added bonus of keeping one fully satisfied for a certain period of time depending on the quantity of thickness one chose.
Her plan was to go into manufacturing eventually, so that she could compete better with the Chu’s or take over their market space completely.
When she woke up the next morning, she was groggy and still very much sleepy but very excited.
First of all, her points had multiplied during the night. When she checked, she realized that it was because Fairy Deng had actually revealed the texts between her manager and the prop master personally.
She followed that up by announcing that she was firing her manager and pressing charges against her for malicious intent.
Then her company which had been silent for weeks now on the issue came out to deny having any fore knowledge about the manager’s treacherous acts and they apologized to her and her fans.
Even the director of the movie had decided to postpone the shooting of the parts of the female lead so that the woman of steel, Iron Deng could come back and take back her rightfully earned position. This made the fans happy and pushed the movie into trending topics along with the director receiving a new name, ’the golden hearted director.’
This situation seemed to be a win-win for everyone involved except the bad guys. Even the prop master had been fired.
T4 had been right about the points; they could always be earned back. Yesterday she was at zero and today she has more than enough. Moreover they were still increasing as people were still discussing the issue.
She took a bath and joined her family for breakfast. As she was eating she received a phone call from the police asking her to come in because her car was involved in an accident in the previous weeks.
She made an appointment to see them the next day, honestly she had been waiting for that call but when it didn’t come shortly after she returned, and she thought perhaps they did not need anything from her after all.
On the way to the new shop, Chi Wei said he was sending her to the police station along with an army of lawyers.
When they got to the shop, it was already open even though there were no customers as of yet. However the inside of the shop was breath taking. The shop was beautifully decorated with lovely flowers, ancient paintings and small gold chandeliers which were beautifully hanging from the ceiling.
At the entrance of the shop were some exquisite silver wind chimes which jingled softly and soothingly every time the wind blew by.
"Wow, this is a lot of more put together than I expected for a one day rush job, sis why didn’t you tell us that you hired a group of professionals to do the job overnight?"
"Chi-Chi, this place is beautiful." Her mother exclaimed. "Look at the comfortable sofas; they are so soft and pretty."
"Sis, is this were I am going to be working?" Chi Zimo asked excitedly and he threw himself into one of the sofas.
"Not if you are going to behave this way." She answered him with a disapproving look.
Chi Zimo quickly evacuated the sofa and tried to look more professional.
From the behind the newly established counter, Meili stood up and mama Chi gasped.
"What a beautiful boy." She said.
Meili strode from behind the counter with his very long legs. "Good morning mistress," he greeted cheerfully with a bow when he stopped in front of Chi Lian.
"Mmm, good morning Meili, come and meet my family." She happily dragged him by the arm and introduced everyone to him.
"What long legs he has, my God!" Papa Chi whispered to his wife.
"I know, mama Chi whispered back. "Where did she even find him?" she asked herself. "It’s too bad that we don’t have another daughter, his good looks are going to end up in another lucky family, oh it’s such a pity."
Mama Chi was simply mesmerized. "Should I introduce him to Yu-Yu." She asked aloud.
"Mother," Chi Wei shouted in horror.
"I am joking." Mama Chi defended herself but Chi Wei was filled with doubts.
The family was looking at Meili with different reactions when the Jun’s arrived. And the first thing Muyang saw was Chi Lian’s hand around a tall pretty boy looking on with a smile on her face.
"Oh brother, you might just have some very tall competition." Ringo whispered to his brother who looked very unhappy.
Unlike Muyang who was frowning, the children were happy to see their mother.
"Mummy, Mei here." Mei-Mei waved wildly in her father’s arms.
Chi Lian saw Muyang and the kids at the entrance of the shop. "Babies," she responded with her own excited wave.
Muyang put the children down and they run to her. She quickly picked them up and sat down in one of the sofas.
She covered their faces with kisses while they giggled happily. "Who missed mummy?" she asked them.
"Mei miss mummy." Mei-Mei responded instantly.
Chi Lian tickled her and they both giggled. "What about you my superman?" She turned her hands onto little monk.
He giggled and surprised everyone by saying, "m..mu..mummy."
She certainly froze and so did everyone around. Some of them had given up on the possibility of little monk talking.
"B...baby, did you just talk?" Chi Lian asked with a stammer.
