Chapter 268: Juan tea shop.
Chapter 268: Juan tea shop.
Chi Lian turned around and looked at everyone with a burning gaze because she needed them to confirm that her ears did not just deceive her.
"Everyone, you heard that right? My baby just called me mummy." She said in a teary voice.
Without waiting for their answer, she turned around and gripped little monk by the shoulders, she was all but short of shaking him like a rug doll.
"Baby, say it again, call me mummy." She said eagerly.
Mama Chi pushed her sons out of the way and approached little monk too. "Baby, say grandma." She looked at him eagerly too.
Papa Chi and the Jun grandparents would not be left behind. Suddenly, everyone was gathered around little monk eagerly shouting for him to call them something. It looked sort of like a crowded market with everyone surrounding one particular vendor.
Their enthusiasm probably scared little monk so much that the boy suddenly burst into tears.
"Why is he crying?" the old madam asked worriedly.
"I think we have overwhelmed him." Chi Lian hurried to hug her son and comfort him. "Its okay baby, you can take your time okay." She whispered.
Everyone else stepped away to give them some breathing space and relieve the pressure and discomfort they had unnecessarily put on the little boy.
"At least we know now that he can talk for sure." The old madam said while wiping tears from her eyes.
Ringo turned to Muyang and said, "Looks like you don’t have to worry about him being mute little brother. "
Muyang nodded and his gaze steadily stayed on Chi Lian and their son. There was a cheerful light and longing to go them but he stayed his ground to give them space but his gaze stayed on them. Occasionally, it strayed to the pretty boy who was now in conversation with his youngest brother-in-law.
Just who was this new character and how was he related to his Chi-Chi?
"Now is not the time for petty jealousy little brother, you should be over there with sister-in-law, comforting little monk." Ringo advised his little brother who was shooting lasers at the tall pretty boy whose looks were too unnatural to be real.
"I am not jealous." Muyang denied. "And if I go there right now, I will be adding to the overcrowding of the situation. I am going to carry him as soon as he quiets down."
Ringo could see the wisdom in his brother’s words so he changed the topic. "Where are these triplets with the flowers by the way? We can’t have an opening without flowers and gifts wishing sister-in-law well wishes. By the way, in case you decide to allow me get involved in this secret battle against the Chu’s you should know that one of their tea plantations uses child labor. Perhaps journalists from sister-in-law’s television could accidentally pass by that plantation."
"Shouldn’t that be a police issue?" Muyang asked his brother.
"When the police show up, the managers of the farm claim that the children claim that the children are there voluntarily. Moreover they have signed consent forms from the parents claiming that it’s an after school activity. It’s forced child labor for sure but the police has their hands tied because the parents’ consent to it. It’s a morality issue that will bring the Chu family ethics into question. "
Muyang thought about his brother’s words for a while. It looked like they wanted to use society’s harsh judgment and opinions to cut down the Chu family. So Muyang said, "I will discuss it with her. If she decides to take it on make sure she is well protected."
"Always, brother." Ringo placed his right hand over Muyang’s shoulder and Muyang shrugged it away. Ringo giggled in return at his brother’s behavior.
A red Ferrari swiftly drove over and stopped in front of the shop. It was filled with flowers of every color.
From the front seat, the triplet who was driving honked and shouted, "Brother I brought a bit of everything."
Ringo responded with an awkward smile and a thumb up.
Muyang, Ringo and all three triplets off loaded the flowers and brought them into the shop.
"Congratulations sister-in-law, we wish you success in your business." The triplets said at once.
Little monk was done crying by now and he was playing with a pillow on the sofa. This allowed Chi Lian to go and receive her flowers happily.
"Thank you brothers-in-law." She answered as she happily accepted the flowers.
"Congratulations." Ringo said and he handed her a fat hand sized gold Buddha statue.
Chi Lian passed the statue to Meili and told him to place it in an auspicious spot.
"Congratulations." Muyang was the last to come by with a special bouquet of marigolds.
Chi Lian simply hugged him, making sure to press her head against his chest. "Thank you." She said while shaking his body.
Muyang chuckled and asked, "Who is the tall boy?"
"My employee Meili." She replied.
"He is too pretty." Muyang replied grudgingly.
"En." She answered with a light laugh. She couldn’t deny facts.
"And too tall, almost as tall as I am." He added.
"En." She answered once more.
Muyang’s petty childish jealous was quite amusing to her. And flattering, she always bumped into women who wanted Muyang everywhere. It was nice to know that he could also feel what she felt in those moments.
"I am still more handsome." Muyang commented.
"Yes you are." She agreed with him.
"Oh my God will you two cut it out, how can you behave so intimately in front of the elders?" one of the triplets complained.
"Get your own girlfriend instead of keeping watch over others." The old madam answered on behalf of the couple which had now separated from their embrace.
"Okay, everyone should gather around and officially taste some of our products." Chi Lian assigned them all seats.
"Don’t forget about us." A surprise visitor said.
"Queen Dowager." Chi Lian hurried to bow, "You are welcome." She said.
She had not been expecting her to show up, with her presence here, if Chi Lian could get her to agree to take a photograph or say something nice about the tea shop, it would certainly put their name out there.
Chi Zimo had already suggested that they open up a weibo account for the shop.
"Don’t bow like that; we are already friends of sorts. I am actually mad at you for not inviting me to your opening, I like tea and my great grandson has been raving about your nutro. I am here to taste it."
The great grandson was the little prince who was hanging onto Muyang’s mother’s arm.
"Auntie, I brought a customer." The little prince proudly announced.
"Good boy," Chi Lian said to him with a broad smile.
With everyone sitting around, Chi Lian and Meili worked on bringing over the different varieties of tea and snacks.
Chi Zimo took different pictures which he posted on their new weibo page.
"What’s the name of the shop by the way? This is really good and the porcelain is really beautiful." The Queen Dowager said spontaneously. She was eating her medium thick nutro out of a delicate porcelain bowl with a spoon.
"It’s called Juan tea shop. I named it after Jun and Lian." She replied with a slight blush on her cheeks.
"Oooh," the triplets childishly mooned.
"Boooo." her brothers added.
Muyang smiled happily while everyone else snickered.
