Chapter 101: Party with the Chi’s

Chapter 101: Party with the Chi’s

The mighty little peep star: [When I say par, you say party. There are three parties to look forward to every year in the empire.

1. The royal gathering.

2. Xibi’s charity auction.

3. The elite cruise.

Perhaps we will have to add a number to this list this year. The Chi’s and the Jun’s had a party to celebrate the recovery and safe return of their little one from the hospital. According to my sources, what was intended to be a small, intimate dinner turned into a social event of who’s who? If you didn’t receive an invitation, then it may be time to renew your friendship card with the families.

Why you ask? Why does this matter so much? Why would one work so hard to ingratiate themselves with the Chi’s? Well, the answer to that question is quite simple my friends.

Take a look at the crowd, from the royals to the wealthy of the wealthiest. Some lucky celebrities even received an invite. Perhaps the action king and former queen of soaps Jian Yu were correct in making a move to phoenix entertainment. Already they are rubbing shoulders with the wealthy, now; they will never have to worry about resources.]

Attached pictures below were of the guests in attendance

Party animal: [I am so angry, how did I not get invited to this party?]

Baby Yao: [All the handsome professors in one place, I am getting dressed because I will not miss this party.]

Yu star: [Our sister made it to the big leagues, congratulations.]

Sweet cake: [Looking at the caliber of people in the crowd, I realize that the devil works hard but Chi Lian works harder or maybe it’s just luck. Whatever it is please share some with me.]

The only fire bender: [Hahahaaa, I am stealing your quote, "The devil works hard but Chi Lian works harder.]

Buddhist monk: [As a hardworking monk, I rebuke that devil and I will slap it out of you during an exorcism.]

What started out as a joke soon started trending. The quote ’the devil works hard but Chi Lian works harder’ would soon become an empire wide slogan.

After successfully distracting his daughter with a shiny stone, Muyang shoved a bottle of milk into her mouth and the girl sucked obediently.

"Mmm, who is daddy’s little girl, you are, yes you are, promise daddy that you will not get married forever. Just stay little like this forever."

While Muyang was playing around and giggling with Mei-Mei, Chi Lian and her mother who had come to call Muyang for food were stuck outside the door. It seemed to be such a sweet moment that they hesitated to interrupt needlessly. At the same time, they were both feeling sorry for every boy or man in future that tried to date Mei-Mei. This daughter loving, obsessed and spoiling father would make their lives miserable.

"You go in and call him." Her mother nudged her on the shoulder.

Chi Lian pushed the door and went inside, "Muyang, give her to me, mother says we should go and eat with the rest of the guests."

Muyang insisted on carrying his daughter. He would not be putting her down anytime soon. "From now on, Mei-Mei will be going to the office with me." He made that declaration and strode out of the room like a king leaving behind a puzzled mama Chi and Chi Lian.

When the man said he was going to pull all the stops out to protect his daughter he was not joking.

Outside in the gardens, food had been arranged buffet style; one would carry their plate and choose what they wanted to eat. Thankfully, the line was now short because most people had already picked their food.

She got two plates, one for her and one for Muyang.

"Let the servers carry the plates." Muyang stopped her. People were being paid to do that job; they should be allowed to do it.

Two servers stepped forward and carried the plates while they both chose what they wanted. Jun Muyang carried Mei-Mei and picked her favorite foods for her.

"You haven’t added chicken."

"My daughter should try a variety of foods, you settled her on chicken as her favorite food too soon."

"Ho!" Chi Lian snorted and kept moving.

The family of three headed towards the large family table were the Jun’s and the Chi’s were sitting together.

"Chi-Chi, sit here." The old madam separated her from Muyang and Mei-Mei, "I have some things to talk to you about." She whispered.

"Yes, grandma." She said sweetly.

"Oh, such a good girl." The old madam looked at her appreciatively. Every time Chi Lian smiled, the old woman felt like she was resting in a field of her favorite flowers. She wanted to take every good thing in life and give it to Chi Lian. "Eat this." The old madam placed a braised pork trotter in her plate.

"And this." The old master added a chicken drum stick to the plate.

"You should also have some of these greens; they are good for the skin." He Weili reached out and added more food to her plate.

Chi Lian was truly astounded and her chop sticks froze in shock. Why were they piling only her plate? How was she supposed to eat all this food?

A nasal voice came from the end of the table, "Grandma, what about the rest of us?" Chi Zimo whimpered?

Lately, his relationship with the old madam had grown by leaps and bounds. Despite the age difference, the two had struck a very unlikely friendship. Chi Zimo even accompanied the old madam for shopping and manicures. Their relationship had evolved into that of a true beloved grandson and grandmother.

"Aiya, my puppy, let grandma send you a chicken thigh; you should build some more muscles to make grandchildren for us soon."

The rest of the table roared with laughter and Chi Zimo wanted to hide under the table so that no one would see his red face.

Chi Lian wanted to say that the old madam was really obsessed with grandchildren.

"Host, when people get to a certain age, the only joy they have left in their lives is watching their families grow and flourish. You should work hard and provide an heir for the Jun family very soon."

Chi Lian wanted to laugh, T4 was pretending to care so much about her future child but it was a lie.

"Host, I am really being honest." The lying system defended itself and even managed to squeeze out a few tears.

"T4, we both know that you want me to provide a test subject for you. Just a heads up, even if I do have a child, I won’t let you poke it and prod it anyhow."

"Host, don’t you want your child to be the greatest genius of mankind, the most dominant and feared individual in the entire empire? Everyone could bow before that child; you would be the honored mother of the empire." As he spoke excitedly, little sparks of lightning and thunder boomed on the virtual screen.

"T4, stop with the theatrics. That sounds like the creation of a villain to me. All this talk of domination and honored mother of the empire, are you trying to get me to incite a rebellion?"
