Chapter 102: A father daughter struggle

Chapter 102: A father daughter struggle

"Host, I would not dare suggest such a thing. That would be catastrophic and disastrous for this world." T4 was flabbergasted; he was not a world domination system! He was a pet system, simply created to accompany his master, not change their fate.

"Then don’t make such statements again. But I will accept the genius part; every parent wants their child to accomplish great things in life. It is my sincere hope that my child will accomplish something that will change this world or the empire for the better. Like Siming, he is a doctor that has dedicated all his research to the empire; I know his mother is a proud woman."

"Yes host that is what I meant earlier. I just got carried away and used the wrong wording. Do you know that the empire is paying tuition for doctor Tang Siming’s children all their lives? He may not be a very wealthy man but he will never have to worry about the education of his children."

"Truly an enviable man." Chi Lian sighed.

"Chi-Chi, why are you exasperated?" the old madam asked in a concerned voice. She had noticed that Chi Lian was absent minded for a while now. She appeared to be lost in thought as if something had caught her attention. In fact, ever since she met her, she noticed that she did that a lot.

"Nothing grandma, I am just a little tired." She patted the old madam’s hand in comfort.

"Do you want to turn in for the night already? You can’t do that yet my dear," the old madam looked into her eyes the same way a teacher does when they are teaching a student, "You will be the madam of the Jun family one day, and God willing the matriarch at one point in your life. This means you will host a lot of events, sometimes you will be exhausted but you must learn to push through. As a host, you must show strength and be courteous. You cannot leave before your guests do.

She patted her hand twice and smiled dottingly.

However, you are not the host today so nobody will make a big deal out of your absentia."

This conversation made the Old madam realize that she needed to start training Chi Lian in the ways of a wealthy family’s madam. She had to adhere to certain standards when it came to her looks and actions.

As the old madam educated her, she nodded her head like a restless chicken and agreed with everything that was being said.

"Old man, we should conclude the party now that everyone has eaten." she suggested to her husband.

The old master stood up and tapped his wine glass with a spoon. The butler immediately looked at his master, nodded slightly and stepped in front of the crowd.

"The old master requests for your attention please."

The crowd quieted down and all eyes moved to the old master who was standing elegantly before them. He appeared to be taller and slightly younger than he had been in the past few years now. His eyes had a glow of excitement and content that many of his age mates envied.

Confidently, he opened his mouth and raised his glass.

"On behalf of the Chi and Jun family I want to thank you all for taking time out of your precious day to come and attend our last minute event. As you all know, this grandson of ours Muyang surprised us by giving us the most beautiful gift we have received in a long time." He paused and looked at Chi Lian and Mei-Mei who was in Jun Muyang’s arms.

"He brought us his wife to be and our great grandchild. As most of you here know, when you get to our age, your biggest wish apart from success and good health for your children is to have descendants. Muyang fulfilled this long term wish of us old people. Now, I can bravely claim that I can die a happy man. "

"Grandpa, you are too young to die." One of the triplets shouted.

"Yes, if you die, grandma will remarry." Another said and the crowd laughed.

The old master smiled slightly and continued his speech. "Anyway, without being long winded, I want to conclude by asking you all to raise your glasses and toast to the bright future of my great granddaughter."

Everyone raised their glass and a few of the children copied the adults but instead of glasses they raised juice bottles or Sippy cups.

"Cheers." The old master said.

"Cheers." The crowd repeated and toasted their glasses with those of the people closest to them.

The old master sat back down, he had cut his speech off by at least seventy percent because the largest crowd here was young. These kids would not understand the joy of having a great grandchild.

"Wife, let’s go and keep the grand emperor company."

"Now, you can go and rest if you so wish." The old madam whispered to Chi Lian. She left with her husband and they headed to the table where the royals were sitting alone.

"Time for dancing and gifts." The loudest of the triplets shouted. At this point, Chi Lian had resorted to calling them number one, two and three. Number two was the loudest of the three.

The music suddenly changed from soothing classical songs to dance numbers which excited the children and the young elites.

The children gathered at the brightest spot in the garden and started dancing weirdly, twisting their buttocks and jumping around. Mei-Mei was so excited that she eagerly wiggled out of Jun Muyang’s arms to join the dancing crew.

The minute she joined, Wuxi took her hands and danced with her.

"Oh I don’t think so." Muyang jumped up with a huge scowl on his face. "Tang Siming, tell your son to take his tiny paws off my daughter before I chop them off."

The crowd roared with laughter.

"They are just kids, relax. It’s not as if he is getting ready to marry her." He Weili pulled her son back to his chair.

"He is not a kid, he is eight." Muyang mumbled.

"So eight years old is not a child to you?" Chi Lian asked. She was seeing new sides of Muyang that she had never seen before.

"I am getting my daughter." Jun Muyang said this through gritted teeth. He forcefully pulled himself away from his mother, made his way to the crowd of dancing kids and pulled Mei-Mei out of Wuxi’s arms.

As if that absurdity was not enough, Wuxi started crying because he wanted Mei-Mei back. Now everyone at the party was looking at Jun Muyang like a kidnapper. The kidnapped victim was also struggling to go back to her friend.

"Oh for crying out loud, just let her go already Muyang. She is about to start crying." He Weili complained. Her complaint was the same thing others wanted to say.

"No." Muyang responded childishly.

Xue Lili came marching like an angry lioness after speaking to her inconsolable son.

"Chi-Chi, I thought we are best friends, why would you not want my son to dance with your daughter. He is not going to bully her?" Her arms were crossed across her chest and one of her feet was tapping down impatiently.

"Lili, I have no fault in this. Muyang is the one who took Mei-Mei away, I was very happy watching them dance together." She sold him out without hesitation.

Meanwhile Mei-Mei was now whining and her little bottom was sticking out as she fought for freedom from her father the tyrant Jun Muyang.

"Stop fighting, I am just trying to protect you."

Chi Lian could not watch anymore, she rescued the little girl from Muyang’s arms and handed her to Xue Lili who took her straight back to Wuxi.

She even made it a point to say very loudly, "Wuxi, I have brought your little bride back." This got the crowd laughing vigorously. The little boy quickly embraced Mei-Mei and the dancing resumed.

"I told you," Chi Lian handed him a glass of cold white wine as they watched their daughter happily laughing with Wuxi. "Someday she will get married. You should just dance with me; I am your partner forever."
