Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife -
Chapter 539: We will see
Chapter 539: We will see
Moss pushed Mosby behind her, a move that appeared to have been perfected over some years. She intended to protect him, it seemed.
"You are slandering us." Moss said, in a slow raspy tone.
"Then explain your actions." Scarlet told her. Then, she looked at the door and said, "Oh well, my guards have arrived so you cannot do that for now. Sit down and we will continue this discussion later."
Tion and the other guards came in with their weapons in their hands. Outside of her windows, two STK drones made an appearance.
She was about to open the window because they would demand entrance when someone came crushing through the nearly impenetrable window and landed on her desk. Everything went flying away in different directions and landed on the ground. Some items breaking loudly and causing those in the room to wince.
The figure roused itself and Scarlet smelled Esong’s scent.
"Get her out of here." he barked at her guards.
"Esong," she called out curiously.
This was a new kind of armor that she had not seen before. And it was quite strong to have shattered the glass of her windows which she had been assured that only mechas were capable of doing and he was definitely not inside a mecha.
The silver armor on his body must have been a new experimental item for mecha warriors.
She was suddenly surrounded by her guards.
"Governor, you know the rules of the royal family." Tion reminded her.
"Tch!" she responded.
Her lips even formed a sneer when she responded. She had already dealt with the threat. But, she needed this incident to become a lot bigger than it was so she set out to become s drama queen.
Suddenly, she took on a vulnerable woman persona and her body started to tremble as if she was in great fear.
"My feet are shaking, I am still so scared that I can’t move." she said in a small voice.
Tion and the others were a bit confused but their duty was to protect her and not question the changes in her behavior. At this very moment, they were already feeling useless because she had been attacked in her office while they were just two floors below.
"I will carry you." Tion said seriously.
He got on to his knees and revealed his back to her. "Governor, please get on..."
Out of nowhere, someone shoved him away.
"I can carry my wife." Esong told him.
The shield on his head lowered and he revealed his face. He bent down and carried Scarlet into his arms.
"These two are coming with us." she said in a feeble voice.
"Bring them." Esong ordered the guards.
Moss and Mosby were captured immediately and the two went along quietly. Not a single word was uttered in their defense. Just as Scarlet had told them, this was her planet and her word was the law.
Moss was confident that the problem would be resolved quickly since the tribunal had already been alerted to the situation the minute general Sang attacked her.
Esong took her out through the window, flying out the same way he had come into her office.
Tion and the others grabbed the two tribunal agents just as the RGB was making an entrance. Zorl had come in person, along with two inspectors because an attack on the governor was a big deal.
"What are you doing?" Zorl asked them.
"That’s the criminal." Tion pointed to general Sang.
Ian and Folsom squeezed in through the guards and the RGB officers.
"We will be taking him seeing as to how he is a mecha warrior." Folsom declared.
He presented his admiral badge which outranked everyone else in the room.
Zorl scoffed, and smiled unhappily. Why then, had they been invited to the scene of the crime if they intended to handle it on their own?
"The tribunal agents are not mecha warrior department." one of the inspectors said.
Like a thirsty tree which had just been planted in a spring, Zorl came back to life. Yes, the tribunal was neutral territory and they could investigate from that angle. An attack on the governor was no small thing. Their agency had to be involved in resolving the issue.
"You can put in an official request and we will consider it." Folsom answered. "We would of course appreciate your help in investigating general Sang’s recent whereabouts and the people he has been associating with."
"Sure." Zorl said sarcastically.
He knew that they were being brushed off by being assigned such simple tasks. How could the mecha warrior’s association fail to track general Sang’s movements? Wasn’t he one of their own?
"We need the footage of the crime." One of the inspectors said.
"Yes, we need footage of the incident. For the sake of coordination of course." Zorl concurred and added with a sly smile.
"You will get it after we have reviewed it." Folsom told them.
"You mean after you have edited out what you might not want us to see." Zorl answered.
"Why would we edit anything out?" Ian asked Zorl. "Besides, the governor might not have any cameras in here so there might not be any evidence."
Zorl placed a round device the size of three fingers down and pushed a button. It started to rotated and then it beeped.
"There," Zorl said smugly. "Evidence that somewhere in this room are hidden cameras. She is the governor. Her castle is filled with surveillance so only a fool would presume that she doesn’t have cameras in her office."
Folsom licked his lips and tapped his fingers together. He was certain that Scarlet had done something to general Sang because he was taken away in bad condition. But he didn’t think Esong or the royal family would authorize the release of this footage. In fact, even Scarlet could deny the request for personal reasons. For now, he could neither give a positive or negative answer.
"We will see." He told Zorl.
Zorl was not yet done because he had another thought, something nobody had considered. "Tribunal agents always record their inquiry sessions. Their recordings are not privy to you alone. Perhaps, as a show of good faith you can give us a copy of that recording."
He had met those two agents, Moss and Mosby when they came to question him. If they had been here for that same purpose then they would have recorded the inquisition because they did the same thing with him.
"We will see what we can do about that too." Folsom told him. This time round, he even added a sneaky smile as if he was helpful when he wasn’t.
Zorl and the two RGB inspectors were tired of Folsom’s cagey answers and they looked at him hostilely.
A woman’s scream and gasp broke through the tense negotiations which were not going anywhere.
"My sister! where is my sister?" Fey shouted.
She had stepped out for a while to cool down after that general angered her and she had returned to a trashed office, broken glass, RGB officers and mecha warriors. Scarlet was nowhere to be seen.
Folsom looked at the RGB officers and said, "Well, one thing we can all agree on is total silence about this matter I presume."
"We agree." One of the inspectors said.
The last thing they all needed was the media getting ahold of the matter before they could investigate. They would keep a lid on this news for as long as possible.
Folsom turned his sly smile to Fey and spread his arms out. "Fey, our sweet Fe-Fi, let’s talk."
Not a word of this was to be leaked, not even to the Su’s.
