Chapter 538: A small lesson.

She dropped the general down to the floor and squatted down as well, looking at him with with a cruelty in her eyes that she rarely expressed.

"Should I swallow him?" Severus asked her.

He had not bothered to move a single paw because dealing with one weak little human like this was so easy for Scarlet. It was easy like eating pie, as she always said.

"You don’t need to." she answered.

"Does this mean you will allow him to walk away untouched after what he intended to do. I could smell the evil intentions on the man right from when he walked in."

Scarlet did not intend to let general Sang walk away, he had to learn which people he should fear, the ones he should run away from when he saw them coming.

He needed to learn that their were far more scary things in the world than mutated beasts.

General Sang was trying to get away from her. He was practically crawling on the floor like a maggot to escape from the trouble he started.

Scarlet grabbed one of his legs and dragged him back. She handled him as if he was a thin little string with no strength that she could manipulate in any way that she wanted.

Moss and Mosby could only watch with horrified looks in their eyes. Their jurisdiction did not extend to whatever was happening here. General Sang had indeed attacked the Blue star governor and when he did, he called her a bitch and said declared his intentions to search her mind.

Her response was self defense and they could do nothing but urge her to reconsider how she dealt with him. All of their pleas so far had fallen on deaf ears.

But Moss was loth to give up. Technically, the general had come here under the banner of the tribunal. She had proved her strength and dealt the general a hard blow. The mecha warriors would handle the rest since he was from their department.

For crying out loud, what would people say if they saw a proud general, a mecha warrior, crawling on the floor and slobbering like an animal? General Snag would lose all respect and credibility.

But again, after what he had just attempted to do, general Esong Wu and the royal family would see to it that he was stripped of all his titles and either sent to the mines or given an automatic death sentence because he had attacked a member of the royal family.

"Governor Scarlet, I think this is enough." she said.

Even as the words escaped her mouth, Moss knew that it was all in vain. She had seen many looks on many faces in the eighty three years she had worked for the tribunal and the look on Scarlet’s face, she could only describe with one word, chilling.

The blue star governor was smiling, her lips were curved upwards but there was no warmth in that smile. It was rather a cruel smile that sought retribution, one worn by harbingers of doom that were preparing to devour.

Moss’s heart chilled as she felt an inkling of pity for the general and sent up a prayer for him.

"Now where do you think you are crawling to?" Scarlet asked general Sang. She dragged him further until his head was close enough to her hands. Then, she froze his body to keep him still.

She touched his head and pulled it by the hair, just as he had done to her before. General Sang’s heart picked up speed and his eyes widened. A sense of doom overcame him because a voice in his mind screamed that she was about to do something bad to him.

Scarlet looked into his frightened eyes and said, "Initially, I was going to break a few bones, draw some blood and leave it at that but now, I have changed my mind. Since you like searching the minds of others so much, how about I search your mind and see what little secrets you are hiding?"

Moss and Mosby gasped. Her words frightened them but at the same time, they doubted that she could do it. Mind searching was special technique taught only to selected individuals in law enforcement. She had no qualifications to be a mind searcher. Who could have given her the grueling five year long training it took to hone that skill?

"No, I will not search your mind." she suddenly said.

General Sang’s face relaxed and the two tribunal agents sighed, in relief.

Scarlet leaned down and whispered to the general, "I will add something into your mind. I think some nightmares will be good for you. Not the kind that keep you up at night but the kind which will keep you up all day long. You will not be able to breathe, eat or sleep without seeing them."

She grabbed his head and looked into his eyes. As her eyes turned gold, his turned pitch black.

A harrowing scream escaped general Sang’s mouth as Scarlet let go of his head and dropped him. She turned around and faced the two waiting agents, Moss and Mosby that were waiting for her.

"What to do? What to do?" she said thoughtfully as she looked at them.

The two agents appeared to be afraid, Mosby especially. Moss was on guard and her eyes were focused on Scarlet, so was her weapon.

"What have you done to him?" she asked.

"Nothing." Scarlet answered with a shrug.

Moss tilted her head downwards and looked at general Sang who was unfrozen now but hugging himself. His body was trembling and he was mumbling and twitching his head from side to side.

"That doesn’t look like nothing to me." Moss said.

Scarlet laughed lazily and said to her, "If I were you, I would be very lackadaisical in describing what I had seen. You two came in with general Sang and he attacked me. " She pointed to Moss and said, "You switched off the drone as soon as he did which means the only footage of this little...." she broke off and wiggled her fingers around.

"A dance, let’s call it a dance. The only footage of events is what’s recorded on the secret cameras in my office which I control personally. Now, if I was attacked by one member of the tribunal, who is to say that I was not attacked by all thee in a coordinated assassination plot?"

"We didn’t attack you." Mosby said in a raised voice.

"General Sang did." Moss added.

"But he came with you and you did nothing to stop him when he attacked me except for switching off your drone." Scarlet tapped her finger on her desk and reminded them.

What Moss did had all of a sudden become free pie that had fallen from the sky and landed in Scarlet’s lap.

These two, from now would be her own spies inside the tribunal. She would use the stick and carrot method to get them to work for her.
