Chapter 535: Scarlet vs Sang

Flan was still whining so Scarlet waved her hand once over the hound and put her to sleep immediately.

Severus smiled and said, "If only you would do that more often."

So much noise and trouble would be stopped if the female hound was always sleeping. To Severus, she was more of an obstacle than a helper.

Scarlet rolled her eyes and refused to respond. As far as she could tell, whatever Ruby was planning when she sent Flan over had failed. Severus did not like the female hound. You could dip the female hound in steak, rub honey all over it and do everything possible to make her appetizing and Severus would still not lick her or take as much as a small bite.

The doors slid open and Scarlet straightened her body. Fey came in first, and behind her was a small delegation of visitors.

They probably thought that they were going to catch her off guard but she had long been aware of their intention to visit.

Even the birds, insects in the capital and the fish in the water all around the empire acted as her spies now. She had set up an intricate spying system that no human could ever fathom possible.

In a humble and polite voice, Fey stood a few feet away from Scarlet’s desk and said, "Governor, these guests have arrived for you."

General Sang pushed Fey aside rudely and strode over sitting himself down before Scarlet could tell him to do so.

"Your little maid can excuse herself. We are here on serious official tribunal business." he said. He spoke just as rudely as he behaved.

Severus got to his feet and growled threateningly. He shook his head from side to side and some saliva splashed around.

A few hearts in the room picked up speed as people became nervous. Ninety nine percent of the population on the Sunstar had no idea how to deal with animals. When they saw a scary dog like Severus, their minds automatically went to mutated beast and the urge to flee and hide captured them.

Scarlet raised her hand in Severus’s direction but maintained eye contact with general Sang. "It’s okay Severus, you will not need to shred anyone to pieces."

The guests were relieved because it seemed to work and Severus laid down on his soft bed by the window in the corner.

Scarlet smirked and added, "Yet."

The guests looked at her with more horrified and fearful looks. What did she mean by that? Would she command her dangerous dog to attack them?

They had all seen footage of him taking down the ON3 smuggler. The guardian dog as the emperor called it, was not to be messed around with.

Scarlet raised her hand and her milk cup which was on a table in front of the couch trembled a bit then came flying straight into her waiting hand. Not a single drop of liquid splashed out of the cup.

Her actions, to a commoner would appear simple but to those in the room that maneuvered the world of politics, this was considered a threat.

General Sang sneered. In his mind, he thought to himself that such weak little tricks were no match for him. He was here to break her. She was Esong’s weakness, the key to crippling the arrogance with which he swayed the hearts of the commoners and walked around like a savior.

A delicious darkness swirled in general Sang’s heart as he imagined the devastation Esong would endure after he was through with destroying his wife and breaking her like a weak wooden toy.

Inspector Mosby on the other hand gasped and marveled at the excellent control and precision technique she used. He also wondered how often she trained her mental strength to be that good?

"Please, take a seat and let’s discuss why you have all so rudely disturbed my day?"

The other two guests sat down and introduced themselves, more politely that general Sang had done.

"I am Inspector Mosby of the noble disciplinary unit of the tribunal." a short, long brown haired man said.

"And I am director Davis Moss, also from the same department." A tall woman with a buzzcut said.

While Mosby had smiled, Moss did not.

Scarlet somehow found herself chuckling as she looked at the unlikely pair. If she had to guess, they were dating because they smelled of the same shampoo and had similarly designed bracelet terminals.

"What is funny?" Moss asked her.

Scarlet looked at her and replied, "I am sorry, it’s just that you are Moss and he is Mosby. You are partners, work partners I think. There is something quite peculiar about it. It should be the name of a comedy detective series, Moss and Mosby."

"I can assure you that you are not the first person to find our pairing and names laughable but I will also assure you that we are excellent at our jobs." Mosby told her.

"I have no doubt about that." Scarlet looked at him and answered. "I am the governor, of an entire planet. I assume that they only sent the best from the tribunal to talk to me." Her head turned to general Sang and she said, "With the exception of him of course."

Mosby’s jaw dropped and Moss smiled secretly.

General Sang however, frowned and clenched his fists.

"What do you mean by that?" he barked.

Scarlet smirked confidently and replied, "I mean that you are not from the tribunal, or am I wrong about that? Are you retiring from the army general Sang?"

"You have a vey smart mouth." general Sang told her in a low threatening voice.

"And you are rude, arrogant, unpleasant and unlikeable. I guess we all have our faults. You more than me." she answered.

She had no plans of pulling any punches as far as the arrogant general was concerned. Everyone knew that her sister Fey was her secretary and yet he had the guts to call her a maid. If he wasn’t provoking her, than what else was he doing?

General Sang stood up abruptly. His eyes were staring daggers at Scarlet and the hatred within them was blazing.

Having someone that had never met you hate you to this extent was a new concept to Scarlet. The man looked like he wanted to leap across her desk and strangle her right there and then.

But then again, that was exactly what Scarlet wanted. She wanted him to loose control and do something drastic so that she could take him down a peg. He had come looking to break her, that much was obvious but right now, who would break whom was still unknown.

So, she stared at him with a challenge in her eyes and smiled provocatively in a relaxed mood.

Go on, I dare you, she thought.
