The ticking arm of the clock was very fast and time for the opening city and birthday launch arrived.

City officials, ministers, reporters and citizens who were planning to move in and those that were there as tourists showed up in big numbers.

RGB officers and mecha warriors were there to maintain order as always to avoid overcrowding, crimes and the possibility of a stampede.

Even the fire department had people there as well as medical officers.

With all this excitement in the air, it was hard to imagine that this was the same planet which had experienced devastation the previous night.

The Blue star had also been opened up to tourists again, and nobles were arriving in groups as if they had been on stand by. Some even used the expensive teleportation devices to make the trip.

The workers at every space sport on the Blue star were overwhelmed and so were the immigration officers.

Today was supposed to be a public holiday but they were swamped with work. But they kept going, the governor had promised that they would be compensated for all this work. So they put on smiles on their faces and verified documents.

Outside the city, a specific distance had been kept between the crowds and the special guests who would be opening the city.

The pomp for the opening of The Citadel was way greater than it had been for the opening of London.

People were dressed as if they were attending a party. And when it came to the nobles, one would think they were attending a royal ball.

Scarlet was no different as she dressed in a white business suit and gold heels. On top of her outfit, she threw on a thick white fur coat. Her hair had been curled and she even applied make-up. Normally she just slapped on some lip stick or applied very little make-up. Today, she had gone all out and got the full package.

If The Citadel was not encompassed in the new Varakas rain shied, she would not have picked this outfit. The shield was keeping the rain at bay like a large umbrella covering the entire city.

She had already arrived at the entrance to the city with Justin and some members of the Su and Wu families. Even her guests had followed along.

At the moment she was exchanging greetings with other officials who were eager to greet her and nobles. Even Lancaster and two other governors had honored her invitation.

Esong and Frost finally appeared and he squeezed himself in between her and his father. Immediately, he went into greeting mode as well, welcoming the guests.

She looked at him, a myriad questions in her eyes went unsaid as she didn’t voice them. Instead, she put her hand in his and smiled.

Ten more minutes of this greeting continued and her smile became more and more plastic as the time went on.

"What are we waiting for?" she whispered.

"The emperor, he has arrived." he told her.

Royal guards wielding weapons in their gold uniforms and armor flew down from the sky and lined themselves up creating a human boundary between the common people and the gates.

The whispers started immediately as the people recognized them for who they were.

"Royal guards, the royal guards are here."

"It’s the emperor." more whispers and gasps went around.

The aura of the RGB officers and mecha warriors around changed. Suddenly, the situation became serious and more intense. The emperor’s presence was no small thing, it was a big deal.

Loud cheers and screams broke out, feet started to shuffle as those who were at the back sought to have a clearer look. Some shoving and loud complaints begun circulating.

Captain Zorl who was here because he couldn’t trust the governing couple not to create commotion almost cursed. As expected, things were never silent when this couple was involved.

"This is captain Zorl to HQ, send more officers and STK drones. The emperor has just arrived, I repeat the emperor is on the planet.

Start all counter defense measures, all canine unit officers should work with the canine partners. Deploy every security measure we have and stop people from entering The Citadel until the emperor is safe indoors."

He had just finished issuing his orders when a voice came into his ears through his helmet on the special channel used by RGB officers.

"This is captain Jacks, you guys don’t need to go overboard. We knew about the emperor’s arrival beforehand and we have coordinated the security situation. Just watch the commoners and make sure that they don’t get in our way."

"You damn bastards!" Captain Zorl yelled.

A few people close to him couldn’t help turning their heads. He glared at them and walked away.

"If you knew that the emperor was coming you should have told us. What if one of the commoners has sneaked in a weapon?"

This was a large crowd. According to the scanners at the city wall through which everyone had to pass before entering the city, twenty three thousand people had made it inside so far.

"Do your fucking job and make sure that nobody comes into the city unidentified. If we had told you beforehand that the emperor was coming, the number of attendees to the opening ceremony would be much bigger than it is right now."

Zorl gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. A small growl escaped his mouth and disconnected the shield momentarily.

Those bastards had a special way of pissing him off every time. They never did anything according to plan, and they made the rules up as they went.

Such a big thing like a visit from the emperor needed to be planned, structured, coordinated and handled carefully.

Who knew if someone had a special hidden weapon in their storage bracelet which they could use to attack?

"Fucking mecha warriors!!" he said under his breathe.

At the front, the emperor and empress were escorted to the specially arranged seats and the crowd went wild. They screamed, shouted and cheered as if they had seen their messiah.

The most ridiculous of things started to happen like people fainting, getting panic attacks and someone actually peeing on himself.

As such individuals were rushed to medical officers Scarlet wondered what it was about seeing the emperor and empress that was driving them crazy.

If it was just people who originally lived on the Blue star, sure, she could attribute their excitement to having never met the emperor before but fifty percent of this crowd was filled with individuals who had lived in the capital. Surely they had seen the leaders of the empire before!

The emperor waved at the crowd with a kind smile and it got even worse. More criers and fainters!!! It was ridiculous.

"We should have brought an entire hospital here." Scarlet whispered to Esong.
