Minister Cretin was stunned into silence by her questions. He had not thought about doing anything honestly. Fishing boats were not yet available and the shores had been occupied by those beasts.

How could he coordinate anything under such circumstances? Did she expect him to fight the beasts just to get some fish?

"Your appointment as minister of fisheries is pending review starting from today." she told him.

Her sister Carolyn, a minister of industry and advanced technology was out there in the rain on a fishing boat working and saving lives but the one with a connection to water was here, warm, cozied up in a soft white jacket and sipping hot ginger tea from what she could sniff.

Even more stunned than before, Minister Cretin opened his mouth and asked, "Wait, what?"

"Shit!!" one of the reporters whispered. That was almost as good as firing the minister.

Another hurried to take a close up shot o minister Cretin’s face.

Scarlet was done with him and she was already moving on.

"Minister Rodney Sinclair," she called.

Blad’s head turned to Scarlet because that was his son being called. A worrisome thought could not help wondering through his mind. Was his son’s ministerial position going to be revoked?

Other officials in the house of ministers held their breath and nerves started to set in. More than a few regretted coming for the session.

There were those who now wished general Esong would return before she terminated them all.

Minister Rodney stood up once his name was called and he bowed politely. He was well composed, appearing confident even under the circumstances.

"How have you handled issues? I have been told that the floods infiltrated a few farms."

"I called in all the farm workers and currently harvesting is being done for all the ripe foods and fruits in the affected farms. We are also diverting the water to the animal husbandry department and rice fields to fill up their reserves.

I have instructed all departments to collect the damaged food. It will be assessed and then we will decide whether it can be processed into something else or fed to the pigs.

I also personally paid a visit to a few farms before coming here to assess the level of damage. I will have a comprehensive report on your desk before noon tomorrow."

Blad smiled proudly. It was just like his son to be well prepared. Rodney did not play around with his position. He was not one of those ministers who sat in an office and only cared about matters concerning the rich and noble.

He was present in the farms everyday, sometimes he tended to the soil with the farmers. Just as the governor used to do in the past, he ate with them and listened to their challenges then told Scarlet about them.

Some of the ministers were immigrants who did not know how dark the Blue star had been back then. That’s why they were careless in their duties.

With full approval and a nod from Scarlet, Rodney smiled.

"Excellent," she said, "Minister Rodney and if it’s not too much work I would like to request that you temporarily take on the duties of fisheries minister."

She paused and waited for him to respond. If he turned down the job, she would handle it herself until someone worthy was found or Cretin stepped up.

"I will be honored to take on the task governor." he answered.

No hesitation whatsoever. Rodney Sinclair was surely the perfect citizen.

"What do you need me to do?" he asked.

She tapped her fingers on the armrest of her seat quickly as she thought. Then she raised her head and said, "Gather all the men and women who have been studying fisheries and collect all the fish which were ejected from the water.

The ones which are still viable for consumption should be taken to the processing factory. It’s not completely ready for opening but this is an emergency.

Locate Angus Jill, he is the manager in charge of the processing factories. He will know what to do with the fish. Let’s start there."

Rodney bowed slightly and raced out of the building to do as ordered.

Scarlet looked out at those who were still there.

"Minister Neo, you are in charge of construction and infrastructure. Of all the ministers here yours is the last face I would expect to see because you should be out there with an inspection team. Do I need to give you instructions or will you be laying down your position?"

The minister’s face paled and he raced out of the building.

A few other ministers who were wise escaped as well, running as quickly as they could and avoiding Scarlet’s scorching gaze.

"Minister Adler Su." She turned her eyes to her brother.

Adler pursed his lips and thought, "Oh-oh." Scarlet was not going easy on anyone tonight, and he didn’t think he would be the exception.

"What happened to the shields around lake Tata? I have received word that at least sixteen people have suffered animal bites, two even lost legs and they are currently regrowing their limbs in the hospital. Your budget is the biggest in all the ministries and yet the shields failed to protect the citizens. Explain this failure?"

In another corner where Dorian and Emmett were sitting, Emmett leaned his head over and whispered, "She is on fire tonight."

"She takes her duties seriously." Dorian told him.

Adler gulped and took a deep breath. Scarlet was scary when she was all business. He thought she was dangerous when she was spilling secrets at the family breakfast but this was worse.

"The shields around Lake Tata, had been lowered because the fire department and RGB were training in some kind of underwater activity.

We re-installed them exactly thirty seconds after the flood started however an overwhelming number of unknown creatures had been dumped on the shores by then. We then had to lower the shields again in order to allow the mecha warriors engage the creatures.

I can assure you governor Scarlet that this was not a careless mistake. The shields we acquired from Varakas industries are the best they have as of now."

She leaned forward and looked at him with a stern gaze. "Have you ensured that the unknown creatures did not somehow make it through the shield? With all new creatures we discover the shields are bound to be tested. I would prefer it if there is conclusive evidence that no creature somehow evaded the shields. I expect video footage of the incident on my desk tomorrow..." she stopped talking.
