Tridon’s face lit up when he finally saw Lythia and he suddenly started clapping, the golden ring on his right hand middle finger with an image of a trident gleamed under the reflection of the moon.

In his opinion this was not only amusing but it was also fun, much more fun than he anticipated.

"Now this is getting interesting. One little reaper has brought out two goddesses, armed and ready to defend her. You both are making this much more interesting for me. Have you forgotten what I am like? I like to compete, if you can be her heroes, so can I."

Carnelia played with a fireball, tossing it up and down slowly while Lythia darkened the sky even more. If it had been night before, now it was if an eclipse was approaching.

The humans started panicking. Scarlet could hear the sirens going off and the warnings. Bright lights were turned on and at the scene of the accident, everyone was asked to evacuate and abandon whatever they were doing temporarily.

"Come on, I will not harm the little reaper. I will just give her a tour of my realm and return her to you safely." Tridon chuckled and he opened up a portal.

The portal was in the formation of water and it was splashing, raining water drops down as it rotated clockwise.

"You will not touch her." Lythia shouted powerfully.

The wind rose and roared as if it was declaring the same thing.

Tridon tilted his head and whined, surprisingly. "But I just wanna play. I am the god of the seas and rivers, I am a lover not a fighter. I will bring her back unharmed."

The two female gods scoffed in disdain. He was a war monger, always riling life and death on. He threw temper tantrums and drowned entire worlds. He was the storm bringer, the one that flooded worlds and caused destruction. Where was the love in those situations?

"I know that you are lecherous and stupid. Our Scarlet here is not human. Gods are forbidden from sleeping with humans but other creatures are not off limits." Carnelia responded.

"We know what you are thinking Tridon." Lythia added.

He was the most promiscuous of the gods, second only to Ethes the god of sex. If it was beautiful, female, strong and supernatural, Tridon was going to hit on it.

Lythia was regretting so much the decision of allowing Scarlet to go for the small world competition. They should have known that she would catch Tridon’s eye. He had a thing for strong heroic women.

"Eww," Scarlet whispered. He was an old man, okay, or maybe an old god.

It sounded like he thought she and him...eww...she failed to complete the thought.

Lythia chuckled to herself and looked at Tridon with pity.

"Tsk, tsk, looks like she is not that into you Tridon. Time to say bye-bye. We already have a shortage of grim reapers, look elsewhere for a bedmate of your type."

Tridon’s angry eyes focused on Scarlet and she hid herself behind Lythia even more. The goddess of darkness was right, sometimes one needed to hide in the shadows.

"And what if I say no?" Tridon asked her.

"Then we go to war." Carnelia declared.

Tridon nodded and and a ball of water formed in his hands. It danced like a wave as he contemplated on matters. Was one little female grim reaper worth starting a war over?

The other gods would probably mock him if he did something as ridiculous as that. But that green flame of hers, it was not normal. It was not like other special flames, it was different. He had put a drop of his essence in that pearl and all but forgotten about it.

When she touched the pearl, he was sure that she could not take it away.

Something with his essence could not be dug out by anything other than another god. It was an impossible mission and yet she succeeded.

He was unwilling to give up until he dug out the secret behind that flame. If he happened to bed the woman who wielded it, that was just a bonus. If he couldn’t take her peacefully, he would have to grab her as he originally intended.

"I can see what you are thinking, and I can assure you right now that I did not come alone." Lythia warned him in a low voice.

Above and on the ground, in the veil of darkness, shadows started to move. In the shadows, glowing blue lights and red ones were seen.

"You will not have her Tridon." Lythia repeated.

"What if I am to court her?" he asked them. "Like the humans do."

He wanted her secret, and her flame. He would do anything to have them.

Carnelia’s hands fell to the side of her body while Lythia’s surprise caused her to plunge the entire world into complete darkness.

"Lythia!!!!"

"You damn dark goddess."

"Aah, that shadow queen."

Many voices roared in the skies.

"Let’s go." Severus whispered to Scarlet.

Both of them teleported away before Lythia could make everything right again.

Those were voices from at least three other gods meaning that the drama here had caught the interest of others. Gods were very nosy beings. They loved to gossip just like mortals.

This little rooftop exchange was surely going to make the rounds in different realms. Scarlet would soon be even more famous than she had ever been.

Lythia snapped her fingers and everything was made right.

The other gods who were secretly watching revealed themselves.

"Look at that, the party of three has become six." Carnelia said sarcastically. "We have a god of war, wind and sex. What you all doing here?"

The god of sex, Ethes, moved his body from sided to side, sprinkling his lustful pheromones all around and the other gods covered their nostrils.

They were not exactly allergic to his powers.

"Are you kidding? A fight over a woman, of course I had to pass by and see what she looked like. It’s the beginning of a fairytale, the deity who fell in love with a grim reaper that won his heart by participating in a competition where she won the biggest prize.

He went in search of her and took her back to his world where they conjugated their union on his three pronged throne, fulfilling their darkest desires as their screams of pleasure blessed the universe." He twirled in the air with his hands spread out wide and a charming smile on his face. "Oh, how romantic."

The other gods all sneered at Ethes, longing to kick him back to his realm.

"Leave it up to you to ruin the word romantic for everyone." A new voice was added to the discussion.

Another goddess appeared and joined the group. She was a beauty, one who had everyone mesmerized with her presence. Her long dark hair danced around her tiny waist as the wind rushed to greet her.

If Tridon’s aura screamed obey me, hers screamed worship me.

"And love is in the house." Carnelia added after rolling her eyes. "Who else is coming this little re-union of ours, huh?"
