Scarlet looked at Mina and told her, "Looks like we are going to have to end this lunch here Mina."

"Okay, mmm...." Even though she agreed to it, Mina was eyeing the left over food with sadness.

"Take the food." Scarlet told her with a light chuckle.

She even got a few juice boxes from her storage space and gave them to her.

In a very pleasant mood, Mina bid Scarlet farewell, not forgetting to thank her three times for the food and drinks.

"Thank you my friend." She said again, when she was almost at the door.

"Yes, you are welcome for the fourth time." Scarlet waved at her.

"Don’t forget movie night. I have dibs on you on the first night after your husband leaves for work again." Mina reminded her.

"You can’t call dibs on people Mina." She reminded her friend loudly as Mina disappeared.

A wasted effort, even Scarlet knew. Mina would not listen no matter how often she told her this.

She sighed and ordered the robot butler to clean up the office.

That’s when Lanta entered and for the first time, Scarlet finally got a look at the harpy.

She could not help wondering where Lanta’s bird features were hiding because she looked completely human right now.

"Are you done looking" Lanta asked, from where she was standing in the entrance to Scarlet’s office.

"No." Scarlet answered openly.

She had no reason to pretend that she was not looking at her. She should have come expecting it.

The hellhounds lived among the reapers or their own villages.

"If you are wondering why I am so beautiful I cannot answer that." Lanta smiled with pride as she spoke.

"If you want to see my claws or my wings you will have to catch me in battle or fuck me in bed.

But, I am already being taken care of by your brother in bed so we are left with battle."

Scarlet’s face scrunched up and she made a gagging sound.

"Just tell me why you are here." She told the harpy.

Lanta sat down in a chair across from Scarlet and shrugged.

"I heard it through the grape vine that you have been looking for me. I figured we should talk before Saturday."

So Beord had discussed with her about the matter of introducing her to the rest of the family.

Just what was this harpy up to? None of that mattered anyway, she and Severus had agreed on the harpy leaving.

"You can’t be with my brother." Scarlet told her.

Lanta covered her mouth, and her face morphed into a look of amusement as she laughed.

"Oh you are such a hypocrite. One, he is not really your brother. You are a grim reaper, this body and face not really yours.

I on the other hand, this is my true body and face.

Two, you are sleeping with a human man. What you are doing is no better than what I am doing.

In fact, nobody cares who a harpy fucks or mates but everybody cares about who a grim reaper fucks because you guys are like weak screws. You never know when it might come lose or suddenly pop, cause a disaster and need to be erased."

She laughed again, and looked at Scarlet, her eyes darkened in a threatening manner.

Scarlet’s eyes darkened as well, turning into a deep gold and her aura changed.

Lanta’s eyes lightened and she pulled back.

"What the hell!" She said, taken aback and stunned. "The fire goddess said you were different but she didn’t say you were this different. You should calm down before you bring this entire building down. Unless you want to reap a few fresh souls that is."

The building was trembling, as if an earthquake was passing through. An alert sounded, warning the occupants in the building to find the safe house in the building.

She could hear banging on her door, and Tion’s booming voice asking her to open up.

Scarlet grabbed a cup with a red liquid which was sitting on her desk and chugged it down.

Lately, when she got angry, so did the children, it seemed.

Slowly by slowly, everything calmed down and soon all was back to normal.

She waved her hand and the door slid open.

Tumbling in, and falling over each other, her guards landed inside of her office.

Tion quickly pushed the others off himself and looked at Scarlet worredly.

"Lady governor, why did you take so long to open the damn door?" He shouted in anger.

This anger Scarlet knew was motivated by fear.

"I am fine Tion." She told him.

He sighed aloud and clenched his fists. "We need to go."

Scarlet stayed glued to her chair and refused to move. Go where and what for?

"All the buildings in the affected area of the earthquake need to be inspected. For the rest of the day, work will be put on hold.

The mecha warriors will have to put out a detailed report on the possible cause of the tremors and proceeding recommendations." Tion explained.

Scarlet gave Lanta an accusing glare. See what you have caused now, she conveyed. At least she could not sense any dead souls around so nobody was dead.

"Is anybody hurt?" She asked.

"Not as far as I know. The tremors were not extreme enough to cause much damage."

She looked at Lanta with seriousness and said, "You are coming with me. This conversation is not over."

Lanta stood up willingly but she smiled slyly and said, "I can’t decide who is ruder between you and your hound. I think it’s you, which doesn’t surprise me because you have farmed quite a reputation for yourself in our world."

Scarlet looked at Tion and sent Lanta a warning. Shut up, her eyes said.
