Jacks was a womanizer and not necessarily the best role model she would want for her brother. But, Elroy was not a baby being led by the nose, he was a grown man and how he lived his life was not something she could control.

As she pondered on the idea of talking to Esong about that budding friendship, the elevator stopped and she alighted from it, entering the bar quickly. Then, she called Adler’s phone again, hoping that the man who picked up earlier would do so again.

He didn’t, in fact no one did and she understood why when she saw Arya helping a drunk, stumbling Adler out of the bar.

There were two questions in her mind, one how did Arya get there and why was she helping Adler out?

Her phone buzzed, and she looked at it only to see that Esong was calling, most likely in search of her after opening his eyes and not finding her in bed or the bedroom.

If she answered the call, he would be able to hear the loud singing of the musician in the bar and the noise from those inside. She looked at Adler and Arya getting into an elevator and she made her mind up to leave. But, it was not before she managed to see captain Zorl and Jelly sitting together closely at a secluded corner table.

They were talking and she had one of her hands on his shoulders. He seemed to be in a bad mood and she was comforting him. Ten out of ten guesses, she would attribute his mood to Amara and her actions. It was a great embarrassment to the RGB.

"Wow!" she exclaimed and she was tempted to take a picture. But the rules of the bar were strict, you could not take a picture of another person without their permission. It was the same for the night club and most entertainment avenues. As for pleasure houses, no phones were allowed inside.

Her terminal buzzed, and still it was Esong, so, she took the elevator down, found the blind spot and blinked her way back into the castle, directly into Justin’s bedroom. He was sleeping, completely out like a light and the covers had even been kicked off.

She covered him again, kissed him on the cheek and then opened the door and peeped outside like a thief. Luckily, the brown cat passed by and she grabbed it.

"Meoooow!!" It loudly protested at being grabbed so abruptly and roughly.

"I left you inside my bedroom, which areas has my husband checked."

"He has searched the bathroom and closet already." the brown cat told her.

She went into Justin’s bathroom and changed out of her clothes and into a pair of pajamas.

When she left the bathroom, Esong was opening the door to Justin’s bedroom.

"I thought I would find you in here." he said, when he saw her.

"I came to check on him." she answered in a whisper. "Isn’t he adorable even when he is sleeping?"

He came close and took her hand, "He is, and you spent all evening together. Come back to bed."

"Alright." she said.

He led her out of Justin’s bedroom and into their room and he forcefully tucked her in. This time round, he held so tightly that if she moved, he would know.

But she was not yet sleepy and had many thoughts on her mind about her brothers. One hour passed, and she couldn’t sleep, two hours and she was still wide awake.

She tossed and turned, forcing Esong to open his eyes and look at her in confusion.

"What is wrong? Is something bothering you?" he asked her.

"I am not sure," she answered. "I am just having a hard time closing my eyes."

"What can I do?" he sat up and asked her. "You said that milk is good for sleep, should I order for a cup?"

"No," she replied.

He saw the television on their wall and switched it on, "Let’s watch something, sometimes you fall asleep when the tv is on." he suggested.

"It won’t work," she told him. She did not feel even the slightest bit sleepy. Perhaps she should have gone hunting for soul eaters rather than trying to sleep.

"Is it that video? Are you still thinking about your brother?" he asked.

"No." she answered, slightly testy and irritated.

Severus came from their bathroom and barked two times. "Did you chew the valerian root?" he asked her.

"Where did he just come from?" Esong asked.

He pointed at Severus with a bewildered look in his eyes because he had checked the bathroom when he was searching for her and no dog had been inside.

Was it there or not? he asked himself.

Meanwhile, Scarlet recalled that the gate keeper had given her an herb and told her to chew it before going to bed. She thought he was just being nice but maybe there was a reason behind it.

"I am going to make myself a cup of tea." she told him and she left the bed.

He followed her into the kitchen and poured himself a glass of wine while she boiled some water with the valerian root and added honey.

They sat down next to each other, and she sipped her tea while he sipped his wine as they watched an old episode of avatar.

Within five minutes, she was yawning and her head slipped down onto his shoulders.

He did not attempt to shake her awake, but instead, he carried her back to the bedroom and placed her down gently. This time round, she did not move a single inch until midday, of the following day.

When she left her bedroom and went to the kitchen in search of something to eat, Carolyn was there, testing out a new device.

"Oh look, sleeping beauty is awake." she joked.

"I would flip you off but I am too tired to care." Scarlet answered.

"How can you be tired when you just woke up?" Carolyn asked her.

"I don’t know, how can you be testing a new device in my kitchen when I already have so many and you have an entire factory?" Scarlet replied.

"Why are you being a bitch today?" Carolyn asked her.

"Sorry," Scarlet toned down the attitude. "I am hungry and tired. Have you seen my son?"

"His father took him to visit the lotus ponds. And for your information, this device is the air fryer you have been on my neck to make for you." Carolyn told her.

Scarlet yawned and located the coffee pot.

"Coffee, my sweet friend." she said as she poured herself a cup.

"Didn’t you say that caffeine is addictive?" Carolyn asked her.

"Nerves, Carolyn, nerves." she answered.

Carolyn interpreted this to mean her younger sister’s bitchy mood was still active. This what happened when you went without sleep or rest for almost two days. She didn’t know what her sister had been doing in that training room but according to Tion, she had not been sleeping. Even Esong had asked them not to wake her because she barely slept at night.

"Are you quitting the broadcast?" Carolyn asked her.

"No, why?" Scarlet asked.

"They did it with a new chef, didn’t you know?" her sister asked.
