Transmigrated Into The Body Of The Cursed Prince Wife -
Chapter 127: The two in the room
Chapter 127: The two in the room
Ave stepped out of the stable after a while when Lucian had left and after she’d tried to speak to Heaven again but got no response from the arrogant creature. It was almost like it wasn’t the horse who had spoken to her earlier. Or had she imagined those words? She was certain she’d heard the words in her head when the horse moved its mouth.
Ave thought as she made her way back towards the doomed palace’s entrance after briefly noticing that Lucian’s horse and Zane’s were nowhere in sight. They’d probably gone back to the main palace.
She was about to indulge in her thoughts when she caught sight of Hugo pacing worriedly outside near the entrance. She quickly schooled her downcast expression and called his name, causing the man to hurriedly jerk his head in her direction with a shocked look on his face at first before a smile broke on his tan face.
"Milady, a good afternoon to you!" He greeted with a bow before he approached, his expression unable to hide his worry completely.
Ave acknowledged his greeting before she asked, "You don’t look all right. Is something wrong? Did something happen at your home?" He looked distressed with his brows drawn together and his hands wringing nervously in front of him.
Hugo shook his head quickly, "No, Milady, nothing is wrong at my home, and thanks to you and His Highness, everything is fine. Though I am sorry to hear about your disposal, it brought a lot of disheartenment to many of Woodville villagers when we heard." He sympathized with a sad expression, they’d all come to like the young lady after her visit to their village.
Ave smiled, but deep down she couldn’t help but think that rumors fly way too fast in this era. It’s no surprise when most of them have no job but to thrive on rumors and gossip. "It’s nothing, Hugo. However, I hope it’s not my disposal that’s gotten you looking so distressed at this moment?" she said, with a hint of humor in her voice.
He scratched the back of his thinning brown hair as he said, "Actually, I wanted to apologize to His Highness for Harry’s mistake of allowing the Princess to get into danger and almost losing her life, I approached him when he walked out of the stables, he was in a very foul mood and didn’t let me speak. He warned me that if I uttered a single word, he would skin me alive and feed my remains to the wild wolves...." He informed her and resumed pacing back and forth in front of her, looking nervous.
"Milady, I think he might send Harry and me away for this, and I am worried. He had just sent Lord Zane to inform me that after the ceremony, I will be taking a list to go and buy a few things for you in the market this morning, but this afternoon....he looked mad, so mad, he even yelled at a guard who had done nothing but laughed at his friends who were talking. Harry must have angered him..." He continued to ramble on while Ave had blanked out, hearing Lucian was in a bad mood when he left the stables.
That jerk hadn’t look one bit in a bad mood when he left her there. He had even given her a look that said she would be the one regretting her decision, and she’d caught a small smirk on his face before he’d left the stables, only for him to go out and lose his temper at innocent people.
If there was even another thing, she’d say he looked somewhat pleased and eager to marry Madeline because he had agreed to it without complaints just because she told him to. If he indeed didn’t like the woman, nothing she would say would make him want to marry her, but since he had already wanted her deep in his heart, he had agreed when she insisted.
Then why the hell was he mad again? She wondered.
Ave looked at the distressed man and sighed, poor man. She placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, but he quickly jerked back and bowed his head, as that would be considered inappropriate for a lady to touch a servant.
"Milady...?"
Ave sighed again. In her time, gestures like this could never mean anything. Thus, she instead used her words to assure him. "You need not worry, Hugo. Lu_His Highness is not displeased with you. He is just in a bad mood. Rest assured that you will not lose your job."
The man’s face immediately brightened up at her reassurance, and he bowed in gratitude to her before saying, "Milady, we shall make a special request for you once His Highness takes the throne to remarry you again. You will make a good Empress!"
Ave’s eyes widened, and she quickly waved her hands in dismissal, "No, no, no. There’s no need for..." She stopped short. She wanted to tell him that there was no need for such a request, as she had no intention of even being in this world for that long, but realized she would be giving herself away. She plastered a forced smile on her face and said,
"Sure, I shall look forward to that." Then she parted ways with the man and resumed her walk towards the entrance door. Her, be the Empress and Lucian’s wife? No way in hell! That pervert hadn’t only been messing with her mind after all the touching and kissing, but being his wife was another level she would never risk taking.
She had blocked her mind from revisiting their time in the library, as she wouldn’t want herself turning red while she was still outside. But she knew that scene would not easily leave her mind any time soon. It had been her first time ever being touched like that by a man; he had sucked on her breast like it was the sweetest thing on earth, his throaty groans and his wicked hands had made her lose herself.
And just like she’d thought, thinking of it made heat settle deep down in the pit of her stomach and curl itself in her lower abdomen until she felt the urge to suddenly clasp her legs together.
That pervert!! He was bad for her body, and perhaps she had done a good thing by pushing him away. He should go do all that to his future wife, Madeline. He could kiss and touch her for all she cared. It was none of her business, and it wouldn’t affect her a tiny bit. She was Aveline Eamon, and Aveline needed no man in her life; all she wanted was fame and wealth, and she’d have all that in her time.
She just needed to focus more on how to go back home and deal with her enemy. And now that she knew that Lucian would no longer be bothering her or messing with her head and feelings, she was happy—so happy that he wouldn’t come to her room again and spend the night, so happy that he wouldn’t kiss or even touch her again, so happy that he would go and kiss and touch Madeline and caress her like she meant the world to him, so happy that...that her heart ached at the thought of him with Madeline.
What was wrong with her? Why was she feeling uncomfortable in her chest? Could it be that she was having a heart problem or some disease? Sometimes her heart beat fast, and sometimes it felt strange when she thought about Lucian with that Madeline; sometimes it would hurt so bad. All this had never happened to her in her real body, her heart beat had always been fine.
All this only began when she woke up in this body, so could it be that Selene was suffering from a heart malfunction or some sort of disease?
Whatever it was that was wrong, all she knew was that Lucian’s marriage was important. It was very important for him to be the next Emperor, as when she would go back, she would at least know that the past had been changed and that Lucian had achieved something and that descendants of the Pendragon people would be in her time.
Who knows, she might be Lucian and Madeline’s descendant in the future, she thought but only grimaced at such a thought. No way in hell!
Since she couldn’t stop herself from thinking about stupid silly things, Ave decided to remove Lucian and all of his thoughts from her mind to focus on something else. She had a book to pick up from the library and...Isolde to check on!!
How could she have forgotten about the poor child who had looked in pain this morning?!
Ave thought as she hurried towards the room Lucian had ordered Harry to take the girl. However, before she even opened or knocked on the door, she heard Isolde’s laughter ring out of the room, followed by the hoarse voice of Harry.
"...now put your hands around here, Your Highness. Now curl it around and pull it upward and then downward," came Harry’s voice from the room, which made Ave’s brows draw together in confusion and wonderment. What the hell were they doing in the room? Where was he asking her to put her hands?
"Like this?" came Isolde’s giggling voice from the room. "Should I pull it out of you?"
Alright, whatever these two were doing in that room, she needed to interrupt it and teach that Harry a great lesson. Pull what out of him? Oh, no, had Isolde also allowed this boy to touch her? Men in this era are so unbelievable and shameless!
"Now, insert your fingers here and—"
Hearing that, Ave didn’t waste time and barged into the room, her expression that of a displeased older sister, and without even waiting to see what was happening, she exclaimed the moment she entered, "How dare you teach her such adult things?! You..." She trailed off when she finally saw with her eyes what was happening in the room.
