Chapter 61: Are you good?

Brys

Storm left after we have breakfast, so I haven’t seen him for close to eight hours. However, I didn’t seek him out because Ray called my attention to the recent kidnapping. We intend to check out the forest I saw Sky in not too long ago.

I would have asked Storm to go with us, but I don’t think he will allow me to step out should he know of our plans. After our daily classes, I went to his dorm, to look for him, but he wasn’t there.

That was why I decided to look for him in their garden.

Theo was the only one there when I arrived. He was sitting in a secluded spot, with his focus on the large gates I walked into on the first day I arrived here.

Back then, I never expected things to turn out this way, but it did. This wasn’t what I envisioned, but it’s better than my earliest hopes and plans.

"Hey!" I called out to the sulking Alpha, who was probably waiting for his friend.

He turned with a scowl, "what do you want?" His eyes narrowed suspiciously at me as if he were waiting for me to reveal my true colours or something like that.

"You don’t have to be so petty." I closed the distance between us and sat on the bench he was sitting on, without asking for his permission.

He raised a brow but didn’t say a word as he shrugged. He turned and focused on the gates without saying a word.

I watched him as I tried to think of how to start a conversation. The shouts from the other students drifted towards us as we stayed in silence. I cleared my throat, aiming to get his attention, but he didn’t turn.

He didn’t so much as spare a glance my way.

"I know I’m not worthy to be with Storm, but I hope you will give me the chance to prove my love to him." I swung my feet as I tried not to sound nervous. It seemed like I was meeting my brother-in-law for the first time.

He didn’t say a word, but with the way, his shoulders relaxed a bit, I was aware he heard my words.

"Back when I met Storm, I thought he was a bully. Most of the Omegas, who started school earlier than I did, all feared him. That was why....." I sighed, "I know I shouldn’t have stabbed him. I was afraid."

"Then, you left him to die." He accused, finally acknowledging my presence. Though his first words aren’t pleasant, it’s nice to hear him speak.

"I..." I ran a hand through my hair. "It was a wrong move on my part, and I will spend years trying to make it up to him." I joined my hands together on my thighs, as I tried not to act nervous.

He stared hard at me before he sighed, "I don’t know what he saw in you. But if he wishes to date you, then, I have no reason to stand in his way. However, should you attempt to break his heart." He smiled, "I know a hundred ways to torture an Omega."

I shivered, "it won’t get to that." I grinned as I brought my hand out for a shake. "From now on, let’s be friends."

He stared hard at my hand before he sighed, "I’m only doing this for Storm." He shook my hand, "for now, I will let you be. However, should you attempt his life again, I will kill you." He threatened with his eyes narrowed squarely at me.

"You don’t have to worry about that!"

"It better not be the case," he grumbled under his breath, sounding like a grandmother who was trying to be angry at her grandkid.

"Come on," I side-hugged him. "I’m not so bad, am I?" I shuffled closer to him, but he removed my hand, with a scared expression on his face.

"Don’t let Storm know you touched me," he deadpanned with a serious expression on his face.

"Storm? Why will he mind that I touched you?" I furrowed my brows at him as I tried to understand what he was going at.

"He will —"

"I will break those hands of his." Someone said behind us.

"Storm!" I turned at the sound of his voice, with a smile on my face. "You are here!" I rose from the bench and closed the distance between us.

I hugged him tight, and placed my head on his chest, "where have you been all day? I thought you dumped my sorry arse."

"Why will I do that?" He gently ran a hand through my hair before he leaned down and sniffed it. "You smell good, as always."

"Hmm," I peered up at him with a smile. "Where have you been?"

"I was searching for this rebellious friend of mine." He motioned towards Theo, "I knew you were here."

"Then, why did you waste time in coming over?" Theo asked in a smug tone. It sounded like he didn’t believe his words at all. "It only took your Omega a short while to find me."

I bit the inside of my cheeks to prevent a smile from breaking out. If only he knew that I didn’t come to look for him. I was searching for my Alpha and just chanced on him. Had we not had a bridge to mend, I wouldn’t have wasted any time at all with him.

"So, are you good?"

"Hmm, I had to forgive him since he begged so nicely," he said in a smug tone.

"Hey! I didn’t beg you!" I narrowed my eyes at him. "Don’t rub dirt on my body with your damned lies!" I wagged my finger at him.

"You don’t have to be ashamed because your Alpha is here," he chuckled. "Come on, we are friends. Friends don’t fight each other, do they?"

Storm smiled, "I’m glad you are not angry, man," he stroked my hair, with his focus on his friend.

"It’s just for the moment," Theo grumbled under his breath. "I will murder him if he so much as thinks of hurting you!"

"Come on, man." Storm beamed, "It’s not time for war."
