Transmigrated As A Feisty Omega
Chapter 56: Are you dating the Beta?

Chapter 56: Are you dating the Beta?

He smiled at me. His parrot, Jammy, is perched on his arms. It stared hard at me before it made a sound, in a language I haven’t heard before.

It doesn’t sound like the few of the Earthen languages I have heard. However, I didn’t dwell much on that.

"What are you doing here?" He asked as his eyes racked through my body before it stopped on my face.

"I should ask the same of you, sir," I said, as I tried not to sound scared. Before he touched me, I didn’t hear his footsteps. It was as if he appeared in front of me, which isn’t believable.

"Oh, me?" He smiled, "I was taking a walk around the school when I noticed you sneaking into the forest. Naturally, I had to know what you intended to do here. That was why I followed you." The smile on his face didn’t warm. It was as frosty as his eyes.

"Well," I turned to look towards the forest. "I was just taking a walk, and somehow got lost." I forced a smile, trying not to look suspicious.

Mr Kim’s words might sound true, but I can’t help the feeling that he’s hiding something. Else, how could he have followed me without making a sound?

And let’s not forget, I would have perceived the subtle smell of his lemon pheromone.

"Oh, that’s too bad. I’m glad I followed you here. Else, how would you have been able to find your way back to school?" He placed his hand under my jaw and lifted my face.

"Thank you," I took a step back, and he dropped his hand to the side. "I guess it’s time to go." I turned and made to head back the way I came, but he stopped me by holding my right hand.

"Brys," he called out in a low voice. It sounded unusual. It’s not the type that I have gotten used to. That was why I turned to face him, shocked by his tune.

"What’s wrong?"

"Well," he glanced around the forest before he turned to me, "are you dating Sky? The Beta?"

The tone he used made it seem like he was afraid of my answer.

I blinked, "Sky? What made you think I’m dating him?" I scoffed.

Out of all the questions he could ask me in the entire world, why does it have to do with the Beta, who I followed into this place?

"Well, you are close to him." He let me go, to run a hand through his blonde hair, which he didn’t tie today.

He looked so much like the first day I saw him. With a black polo, black slacks and a black coat, he looked so much like the man I first saw on that day.

"Because he’s a friend."

Just like Ray, Sky is my friend. Not even his feelings for me can change that. I will forever treat him like the friend he is, irrespective of his feelings for me.

"A friend? Is he just that? Is there nothing more to your relationship?" He asked once more, confusing the wolf out of me — not like I have a wolf.

"Hmm, we are just friends."

Mr Kim nodded before a genuine smile graced his face. For the first time since I met him, his blue eyes don’t look as frosty as a winter morning.

It looked like the sky on a bright summer morning. I can’t help but admire the beauty of those orbs. Mr Kim is undeniably handsome. Anyone with eyes could see it.

However, he’s not as handsome as Storm. Storm is the most handsome man in this academy —to me.

"You will be late for your reading class. Come on, I will show you the way out." He took my hand in his and led me towards the exit.

I turned when I felt eyes on me. It was as if someone was looking at me from the bushes, but I saw no one. Yet, the feeling is still deep.

"What’s wrong?" He turned to me with a frown, "why did you suddenly stop."

"Uhm...." I glanced around. "I feel like someone is looking at me from the bushes. Could it be —"

"I doubt there is. But should there be a person, then they are a coward. There is no reason for them to keep harbouring feelings for someone who doesn’t like them. It’s time to move on and let others have a chance." Mr Kim said, a bit too loudly.

It seemed like he was telling that to someone else, not to me. I furrowed my brows, wondering what his words meant. Who was he telling to give up?

"Mr Kim?" I called his attention to me. "What’s—"

"Oh," he lightly chuckled. "I was just speaking to my Parrot. It’s the way I teach him how to speak our language."

"Hmm." I nodded, still not convinced by his words. Why will he speak of feelings to a Parrot? Who the damned hell was he speaking to? Could it be Sky?

I turned around once more. But I didn’t see anything amiss. I guess it was all in my head —no one is watching me.

I exited the forest with Mr Kim, who hasn’t let me go for once. He gently squeezed my hand and smiled at me. "Come to my office tomorrow morning. There is something I have to show you." He leaned down and pecked me on my hair before he turned and left, humming under his breath.

His parrot spoke in that strange language once more, and he replied in the same language. He turned, and when he noticed I was looking at him, he winked at me. I turned my face in embarrassment as my cheeks turned red.

"See you tomorrow, Brys." He chuckled under his breath.

I stood there and watched him until he entered the building where his office is located. Only then did I return to class, but not before casting a long look at the forest. I need to find Sky tomorrow. He has a load of explanations to give.
