Transmigrated As A Feisty Omega -
Chapter 147: A request
Chapter 147: A request
I watched Theo leave after that. I thought he would try to bully me like he did at first, but he surprised me when he didn’t. With Theo gone, leaving me alone in the hallway, I clapped.
"Fan?"
I half expected him to keep hiding until I called him the most hardworking system before he would appear, but he didn’t stress me that much.
"Missed me?" He smirked, materializing in front of me.
"As if." Rolling my eyes, I stepped into the room and closed the door behind me when Fan entered. I didn’t want to be rude by slamming the door in his face even though he could enter without using the door. I strode over to my bed and plopped down on it.
"Why did you ask for me?" He folded his arms, glaring. "I was doing something important before you called, you know?"
"Something important?" I pursed my lips. "Is there anything more important to you than me?"
"Of course." He joined me on the bed. "There’s this new system that was brought in. I’ve been busy keeping her company while teaching her the ropes."
"You?" Chuckling, I sat up on the bed. "Just tell me you have a crush on her. There’s no way a clueless system like you can help anyone. That’s absurd."
"I’m not clueless!"
"Yes, you are. You made me mess up the first mission because you weren’t informed."
"I didn’t. You did that all by yourself. You were the one hellbent on going against the plot!"
"I didn’t like Storm back then," I defended, glaring hard at him. "Did you expect me to play to your tune when the man I was supposed to fall for was such a douche in the book? Of course, not. It doesn’t work that way. That’s not how life is."
Fan stared at me for a long time before he let out a sigh. "I give up. Arguing with you will only delay me from doing anything productive today. I don’t seem to win whenever we argue." He looked like he would rather be anywhere than in my room with me, and I didn’t blame him.
I bet I was the only transmigrator who stressed his system.
"Now you are talking."
Pursing his lips, he brought out his gadget and scrolled through it, looking serious as he stared right at it.
"Have you found the bug yet?"
"Not at all. I’m still working on it, but I believe it will be May."
There was no way in hell Phil would be the bug. He just didn’t fit that description at all. May, on the other hand, looked so much like one. And let’s not forget how secretive he was about his mission. Who knows if they tasked him to get rid of me?
"Don’t just point accusing fingers at someone because you aren’t close to them." Fan didn’t look at me, but the condescension in his tone sank in deeper than any glare he could have sent me. "We can’t make any rash decisions. You need to speed up the investigation. You have little time in this world anymore."
"Of course, I do. Storm’s percentage —"
"Is at 60."
I gasped at that, placing my right palm over my chest. "How... How possible is that?" Blinking, I rubbed my ears to be certain I didn’t hear wrong.
"I couldn’t tell. Last night it kept rising until it reached 60. Whatever the hell did you two do before he left?"
"Nothing!" I got up from the bed and walked to the window. Leaning my back on it, I folded my arms. "So, basically, I have to complete my task before my love percentage reaches 100? What if I don’t find the bug before then? Will it affect the next world?"
"You will be eliminated."
"Par... Pardon?" I tilted my head to the side with my lips partially open. "Why?"
"The bug will eliminate you. Remember, if you die in this world, you are —"
"No, I’m not." I raised my right palm, shaking my head. "I’m not dying. No one is dying. Not when my kids are counting on me to complete the task and get them united to their father."
Oddly enough, I couldn’t think of a life without my babies.
"Then you better hasten in your plan." He snapped his right finger, and the gadget disappeared. "I will only help you when necessary, but you need to figure the rest out by yourself. That’s all I can help you with. There are things systems aren’t allowed to disclose."
"I get it. So, what am I getting for the percentage rise?" I drew away from the window and approached him. "I’m supposed to get at least 3 things, right?"
"... Well, yes." He looked reluctant at first before he fished his gadget out once more. "You have the option —"
"Can I make it one?"
"Huh?"
"I’m supposed to get three bonuses, right? Can you make it one instead?" I batted my eyelashes at him, acting cutely for a system that was wrinkling his nose, acting immune to my charms.
He raised his brow. "It all depends on what you want. I will have you know visiting the kids and knowing who the bug is are out of the question."
"Oh, come on. I don’t need those." I waved his words off. "I just desire one thing."
"Okay. Out with it."
"Can I go to Storm? Not now though, after I have found out who the bug is. Can I meet him?"
"I don’t think —"
"Please. I know you can make it work. You are the system, after all, and this world is all organized by —"
"Storm created it." He let out a sigh, pinched the bridge of his nose and smiled sadly. "I’m afraid I can’t help you with that. However, you might be able to step into it without getting hurt since it’s Storm’s world. It might not harm you."
"You sure?" My eyes sparkled at that.
"Yeah, but don’t get your hopes up."
"Thank you!" I reached out to touch his hair, only to get frozen by his stare. "Oops. Sorry." I stepped back, still grinning. "So you are owning me three bonuses, right? Can I hear my options?"
"Argh! I need to be saved from Brys!!!"
