Chapter 117: Jealous
Chapter 117: Jealous
Storm
"How long will you avoid him?" Ray sat next to me on the bench, with his focus on the crystal stream.
The walk in the garden didn’t help me as much as I thought it will. If anything, it only frustrated me more than anything else.
"Who?" I asked, pretending not to know who he was speaking about.
He’s the reason I’m out here now, trying to cease my thoughts of him —a certain young prince with purple eyes. But so far, nothing has been working.
My mind still thinks solely of him, and I haven’t been able to stop them from doing so.
"You clearly know." He took a pebble from the ground, and threw it into the river, causing rippling sensations in them.
"I don’t." I stood from the bench, and peered up at the sky, trying not to think of him, but my mind kept on conjuring different images of the cute man.
"He’s not bad." Ray sighed, "I was pissed with him the first day I met him, but not any more."
His words caused me to suddenly glance at him, "seems like he used his charms on you." I tried not to sound biting, but it came out as such, making my jealousy at the thoughts of the two of them getting along, really prominent.
Ray chuckled, "you sound jealous, man. Never knew I will one day see —"
The words froze in his throat when I placed a knife on his throat, slightly slicing the flesh there, and drawing blood. His eyes widened before they went neutral. He slowly raised both hands up, "I’m just messing with you, Storm. You’ve got to learn how to stop getting knives out at the slightest provocation." He sighed, staring into my eyes.
"Do you like him?"
Before I could stop myself, I asked, eager to know the answer, but at the same time, trying not to look like I care.
"No."
He didn’t have to think before he gave his answer.
"I don’t like him. He’s just a friend."
Against my better judgement, I released him and put the knife back where I got it.
He relaxed, "I don’t like him. Moreover, you should have known that I don’t swing that way." He rose from the bench, and sighed, placing his palm on his face.
I didn’t comment on his words, knowing the truth behind those. Though he hasn’t been with any woman since I got to know him, I know how much he loves women. He flirts with them every chance he gets but has never been close to any of them, claiming he’s reserving himself for the woman who deserves him.
"Did you take him out for lunch?" I pretended to be engrossed with the river, waiting for him to answer my questions.
"No, he was taken by the mute prince."
"Sky?" Shocked, I turned to face him.
"Mm." He nodded, "just like you, I was shocked when I heard it, I had to ask most of the maids who were around when he went to the kitchen. It was indeed the mute prince that —"
I turned and started back to my room, pissed with myself and that damned prince. I can’t tell why the thoughts of him being with other men didn’t sit well with me, but I damned hell will make that slut regret looking at others.
"Storm!"
Ray ran after me, trying to keep up with me.
"Return to your quarters, Sky. There is something I need to do." I strode towards the door, with a damned destination in mind. I had to take the shortest way back to my room, through the North wing.
I know my eldest brother, who has been looking for occasions to get rid of me, will wish to use the opportunity to do so. But I had to take the risk, so I can get to the room faster.
The guards, stationed in my hall, bowed when I strode past them, but I paid them no heed, eager to get to my room, so I can teach that damned slut a good lesson.
I barged into the room, startling him. He threw the strange clothes in his hands, on the ground, looking like a damned guilty thief.
"Storm?"
"Who else were you expecting?" I closed the distance between us, backing him against the wall with my right hand, caging him in.
"N... No one!" He nervously chuckled. "I was just stunned by your presence. I thought —"
"What were you doing with my brother?" I growled at him, narrowing my eyes to slits in anger.
He sighed, "which of your brothers?" He asked in a less concerned tone, making it sound like meeting my brothers isn’t a crime at all.
"Oh, you met more than one?"
Could it be that he met May? Out of all my brothers, he’s the most handsome and charming. He’s the only prince who has won the favour of the entire people in the palace with just a smile.
While we resort to violence, he’s the mild, aristocratic one among us, more of brain than brawl, charm than charge.
I’m afraid he might take...
Wait a minute, what the hell was I just thinking of?
"Mmm." He pursed his lips, staring into my eyes with a fearless gaze.
"How dare you!"
Without a second thought, I wrapped my hand around his neck and pressed hard, glaring darkly at him.
"Sto... Stop!" He pushed me off him, stunning me with how strong he is. He narrowed his eyes at me, and glared, "don’t you ever try to do that with me!"
I got over my shock fast, ran towards him, and tried to touch him, but I was instead met with a punch that sent me flying.
My head hurt from the punch, and I had to rub my jaw, "what the hell did you do that for?!"
How the hell did the naive prince from the last time grow so strong to send me back with just a punch?
"If you wish to speak, do so in a civilized manner!" He wagged his fingers at me. "I’m not a damned pushover!"
