Chapter 116: The Dark prince
Chapter 116: The Dark prince
"Chill." I discreetly took a step towards him, glancing around the empty hall to be certain there were no maids around.
He watched me, like a scared dog, trying to know what I’m doing. "Your tattoos are beautiful," I closed the distance between us, making certain that I didn’t walk fast.
He watched me until I got close to him and touched him. He froze but didn’t step back, and that made me fully touch him. I traced the wolf on his back, following the body until I got to a beautiful waterfall.
"How did you get this one?"
"I was the one who discovered it three years ago." He answered, knowing exactly what I was asking him about.
"Wow."
"The number of tattoos on our body signifies our strength. Mine is the number of times I have gone on a successful hunt." His voice got dim a bit.
"Wow."
That explains why the other prince only had three wolves.
"One of your brothers only has three wolves and he —"
"Benda?"
"Hmm."
"He’s a coward." He growled, resuming his walk.
"And Storm? He has enough tattoos on his body." I tried to know the secret of the ones on Storm’s body.
Once more, he froze in his steps, visibly swallowed before he continued on his walk, without answering my questions. But I can tell he looked scared.
Why is he scared of his brother?
I didn’t try to know the reason because I knew he might not answer me, or it will mean I get to give me cold shoulders once more.
We passed more maids before we got to a door. "That’s where the kitchen is. I hope you enjoy your meal," he turned to go, but I held his hand and stopped him.
"Will I see you again?" I wasn’t about to say goodbye without knowing if I will get to see him again.
He stayed silent before he sighed, sounding defeated, "If you wish to see me, ask any guard for my garden." He smiled at me before he headed down the hall, while I watched him, trying not to smile.
He might be the opposite of the Sky at Dark Moon, but he’s still the same, just with a different personality.
I turned and knocked on the door, and it was opened by a maid. Her eyes immediately went to my face, and they widened slightly before she bowed, "my prince said you will be here long ago, but you —"
"Storm?"
She nastily nodded with her eyes so wide, it looked a bit comical. There was obvious fear in those orbs as she looked like she was about to bolt.
"Yes!" She widely opened the door, inviting me into the kitchen. There were chairs arranged to form a little dining. It was where she motioned me to go.
The other maids watched me with wide eyes, staring at me as if they were somehow expecting me to jump up and attack them. I was served roasted meat with mashed potatoes and soup, which I gulped down like a starved man —which I am.
After my meal, I rested a bit before I left the kitchen, asking for directions from the maids who were still staring at me like I somehow got two heads.
I strode through the halls, keeping to the direction the maids pointed out to me, and trying not to get lost. I just can’t let what happened earlier repeat because I doubt I will find another Sky to help me. And I don’t have the strength to converse with Fan, who is likely going to put me through another long conversation.
"Brys!"
I turned at the sound of my name, knowing who it was calling me.
Ray smiled when my eyes met his as he hurried towards me, "where have you been? I went to the room to pick you up to have breakfast, but you were not there. And when I came for lunch, I was told that you had already left." He fell in line with me as I continued with my walk.
"Oh, I was too hungry that I had to step out to eat." I smiled at him, rubbing my now full stomach.
"How did you find the way? Were you helped by any guard?" He glanced at my clothes, furrowing his eyes a bit as if to ask how I got to wear such a cloth when I wasn’t dressed this way when we last saw each.
"No, I was helped by Sky."
He froze at my words, gaping at me as if I said I went to space and back without a spacecraft.
"You met the mute prince?" He slowly asked, still shocked by it all.
"Mute prince? Why the hell will you call him that?"
The Storm I met was definitely not mute. He spoke to me, and we conversed throughout our walk.
"He’s a silent one." Ray sighed, "he hardly says a word, growling and keeping his distance. He’s almost the same as Storm had it not been for Storm’s love for bloodshed."
"But we spoke! He helped me."
"Sky? Are you sure you met the right prince? You must have met May! He’s the only friendly prince. Benda is a douche, and the other one? He’s the dark prince."
"Dark prince? How many are they?" I stared at him, shocked by his words.
"Five —Storm, Benda, Sky, May, and the dark prince. I don’t know his name, and I’m not concerned about that because all I have heard about him is nothing good." Ray looked like he didn’t wish to speak of the Dark prince, but his words made me eager to know who the prince he was speaking of was.
He was likely the one who tried to assassinate Storm on our way here.
"Have you met him?" I peered at him, trying to get more entails on the dark prince and who he is.
"No, I haven’t, and I don’t wish to do that. I will warn you to stay away from him." He glanced around the place before he leaned in, "never step foot in the North wing. It’s his sanctuary."
