Tower's Richest Player: My Coins Won't Stop Increasing
Chapter 71: Creatures of the 2nd floor

Chapter 71: Creatures of the 2nd floor

When it comes to the Creatures of the tower, one can categorize them into three broadest categories: Tamable creatures, Monster beasts, and corrupt creatures.

The tamable beasts are creatures that had killed the most players in the Tower of Beginning and it would be the same in this tower as well.

These beasts, while having the possibility of being domesticated and tamed by those who knew how to do it, weren’t easy to deal with, especially when the newbies or ignored players tried to mess with them, they were a nightmare.

There were many such tamable beasts on the second floor as well, creatures that many players were trying to either befriend or forcefully domesticate by force.

They resemble the normal animals that the players could find in their own world as well— rabbits, deers, wolves, cattle like cows and bulls, and birds were some of them.

These creatures were peaceful. Even as the players appeared on this floor and started massacring anything they came across, the creatures maintained their distance and tried to avoid them rather than killing them outright.

They were peaceful, however, that did not mean they were low-leveled. Their levels were still different and the players were slowly starting to understand how a (Level-3) bird baby could have a (Level-30) parent that could rip them in half.

Age also didn’t necessarily define one’s level. It was a factor but there were several factors that decided one’s level and among the creatures, these factors were especially diverse.

"Creatures are nice and fun to play with, but when you get on their bad side, you better be prepared to either get killed by their high-level parents or a few dozen members of their kind." KiRA preferred to leave most of these creatures alone on floors like this one.

Instead, just like right now, he focused on the corrupted creatures that are dangerous for the environment or the monsters that have lost their rationality due to various factors and turned into a nature-harming element.

"It’s still difficult to distinguish between the monsters and the simple creatures when they aren’t being aggressive though. If you can’t see their Mana or have a clear understanding of them, you can mistake them easily." Izzy knew how dangerous a monster could be and how much more dangerous a creature could become.

As the two of them killed a few of these monsters and sat down beside where they had taken care of them, the two remembered their time in the tower and the monsters that they had fought until now.

"Corrupt creatures are clear green flags, the taming beasts are red flags, and monsters are gray flags," Izzy said with a meaningful nod, confirming with herself how this was the best way to understand these creatures.

"You can kill all corrupt beasts without worrying, you must never kill a creature you can tame without thinking everything through, and monsters are complicated... they aren’t always bad, but then again, they fall into a gray area."

Some monsters you kill and there will be no negative consequences. Some monsters you kill and you will find the entire ecosystem of that area in shambles.

"They are the balance wheels. A necessary part of nature." KiRA spoke the truth, so Izzy nodded at his words as well.

He was correct. The monsters, however dangerous, definitely mean something to an ecosystem. Even if they have lost their minds and sanity, they might have some meaning behind their changed natures.

"I’ve seen monsters regain their sanity and evolve into a higher form from the experience, and at the same time, I have seen monsters that are born to destroy, to kill, to harm others around them."

A monster was a monster by nature, either inherent or acquired.

They might change... but not the corrupt creatures.

Once a being is completely corrupted by impure energies, by abnormal causes, or by external forces, it will stay a danger to everything around it.

They must be killed. And the two of them were doing just that... cleaning up the trash.

"It’s not going to take long to finish the floor quest with this kind of speed though." Izzy sighed with a disappointed look.

She wanted to continue with hunting instead of going back to their leaf search, but if they do that, they won’t have much to do after that.

[Quest progress: 15/100 creatures.]

[Quest bonus: (+10) points/Corrupt creatures.]

The bonus points were added right after the hunt so they were already done with a fourth of the quest.

There weren’t any hidden rewards for killing more creatures. There was no need to kill more than what they needed here anyway with the corrupt creatures being the exception.

They were going to take down all the corrupt creatures they find and if they are lucky, the system will reward them for the good deed.

"We can go slow anyway. It’s not like the corrupted creatures are lurking in each and every corner of this forest." KiRA was done with cleaning the area so it was time to resume the leaf search.

"I know... but then again, just looking for a damn leaf is so boring!" She didn’t want to go, so he had to pull her up.

The work was work. And it’s not like he was asking her to do any work either.

She had excellent Mana sensitivity even without the skill so she was helpful, however with Unity there to help him, he didn’t really need her help.

They had Unity’s special skill to share senses so they could easily cover a large part of the forest if they were mindful of the energy use.

"I’d tell you to just stay put once again but you’d tell me it’s more boring to not do anything. Why don’t you do what you want while it’s daytime? We already know what we are doing after sunset, right?"

He tasted her lightly by caressing her back before walking away and looking back at her flustered face.

"Let’s go have our lunch now."

There was still quite some time left till it was nighttime so they had plenty of time to play around.

And since they were on the second floor and this section of the forest, KiRA knew just the right place for lunch.

’Let’s see who we meet there this time.’

He was kinda excited.

"You’re mean."

"Thanks. You too, are pretty, sweet Miss."

"Stop it..."

The lunch spot they were going to was pretty famous among the locals of this area. It has been for a very, very long time now...
