Tower's Richest Player: My Coins Won't Stop Increasing -
Chapter 70: Who searches for a leaf in the forest?
Chapter 70: Who searches for a leaf in the forest?
(2nd Floor of Tower of Cessation.)
The floor was divided into three sections and each one of them was as big as three or four sectors of the 1st floor, making the scale of the floor far greater than what the players had seen on the 1st floor.
There were forests dense and vast, filled with unique trees that breathed in Mana, making the Mana density on the floor far greater than what they had on the lower floor.
The trees in this place were not simple either. Aside from the trees being able to circulate Mana within them, there were trees that harvested the atmospheric Mana and used it for a process similar to photosynthesis.
The process, as the Natives of the Tower called it, was [Mana-2 harvest]. Just like how a hydrogen atom had two electrons, the Mana that these special trees harvested had a bi-stringular structure where two strings resonated at a set frequency together.
Those who were interested in this new biodiversity among players were cooperating with the Association researchers for a deeper insight on these special plants.
The association was also expanding a significant amount of its resources and personnel to understand these special plants and how they could be used in their world.
Even though it had not been many days since the floor opened, the association had already set their camps in various parts of the forests, mountains, and valleys to look into these special plants.
With the help of the players who had been scholars within the game, they were trying to connect the traditional science and the uniqueness of the tower’s biological elements.
Aside from the players, common people were also taking part in this research, making the rate of progress much higher... However, the common players who were working in order to finish their floor quests weren’t interested in all this data and research.
-Swish! Swish! Swish!
Throughout the mountains and forests, players engaged in combat and killed creatures of various kinds with their skills and the equipment that they got from the shady sellers.
-Boooooooooom!
Circulation of items and tower weapons had begun among the players and the association wasn’t doing anything about it right now.
There were regulations on what players could do with their Skills and player powers but their money was not something that the association knew how to regulate properly.
There were talks of various new policies being implied, talks of how the world will shift to using IX instead of traditional currencies.
Normal people will have a difficult time adjusting to the shift since they could not use the coins directly, however just like Crypto, there were ways that the normal people could use the tower currency as well.
The association still needed some time to finalize those things so the economy was a sector that was still not under the association’s control. However, as the players enter the third floor of the tower and get introduced to a marketplace, item circulation will begin.
And with it, a new era of economy and currency will greet their world.
"Aghhhhhhhh"
"Kekekekeke!"
"No...!"
But that was for the latter. The players all around the world were busy clearing the forest monsters, the elites that they came across, making parties, and killing each other– yeah, player killing was still happening all around the tower.
Not just the 2nd floor, there were many deaths on the 1st floor of the tower as well and with nearly no regulations on the players, the players were on their own in these forests and valleys.
The death toll was constantly increasing each and every day. The young ones who entered the tower with great hope were found without their heads or with a violated body.
In some places, it was the monsters and creatures that were dying while in some other places, it was the players. Prominent ones with promising futures at that.
These deaths were also a reason the association was introducing certain regulations for low-ranked players who could not handle these player killers.
And as days passed, the unique policies seemed to be effective... the PK killer squads that the association had released in all of the tower were certainly a reason for the decreasing deaths but the public will not know about them.
"It has been hours, hours! Just who the hell searches for a leaf in a damn forest!" There were those who were doing quests and those who were looking into the plant life. KiRA, strangely, seemed to be the latter one.
"It’s not that we are looking for a leaf, we are looking for a certain special leaf." KiRA and Izzy were in the tower’s forest area, searching for something that was present all around them.
"In a damn forest we are! There are practically countless leaves and we’re looking for a certain one with a special pattern without any help! It will take us days even with that skill of yours!"
Izzy was frustrated even though it had only been a few hours since they arrived in this forest.
And her frustration seemed justifiable as well.
"I know it will take us days. And didn’t you know that as well?" He smirked at her frustrated look, finding it strangely cute as well.
But she was right in a way as well.
The first hidden piece that KiRA was after on this floor was a certain leaf that appeared randomly anywhere on the second floor.
That leaf was the target this time. And, while finding that one leaf among a sea of leaves was a complicated task, with the help of his {Mana sensitivity} he should be able to find it within a few weeks.
"I knew it! I knew it was going to be boring! But ughhh! I just don’t like it!" She was just throwing a tantrum because they missed their morning coffee. It was no big deal.
He knew she would get all better once they had their lunch. But there was still about an hour left for that.
"Well, we can go hunting if you want that. What do you wanna kill?"
There was nothing much to do on this floor. Of the three hidden pieces, two were something they would only get through exploration.
The final hidden piece was something... fragile. He didn’t want to hinder it, but he was surely going to go and take a look at it.
He liked this floor even though there wasn’t much to do there except for sightseeing exactly because of that third hidden piece.
’Hopefully, they are still here.’
This tower was different and some things were different here, but he wanted that place to be the same.
That was the one thing that made this floor meaningful so, KiRA was hoping ’they’ are still the same here as they were in the Tower of Beginning.
And... Hope wasn’t all that negative sometimes, you know?
