Chapter 28 - 27 Grave Hounds
Chapter 28: Chapter 27 Grave Hounds
Their ferocity and bloodlust were far more intense than the hounds he had fought earlier. Alexander narrowed his eyes. Not only were they stronger, but their size was also significantly larger than the Ground Hounds.
Their deep, guttural growls echoed through the forest, shaking the air with their presence. But fear was absent from Alexander’s expression.
He had come here to test his strength, and now, an army of these beasts stood before him, so many that he couldn’t even count them all.
The new hounds glanced at the four dead Ground Hounds on the ground. Their eyes burned with fury. Their ferocity spiked as they bared their fangs at him, their snarls filled with rage.
Seeing the look in their eyes, Alexander nodded to himself, "So they were from the same pack."
But before he could dwell on the thought, the beasts that were driven by the urge for revenge pounced at him all at once.
He was surrounded on all sides, yet instead of fear, a smile crept onto Alexander’s face. In a battle of endurance, he knows that he was unstoppable.
Thanks to his bloodline’s regeneration ability, no matter how long the fight dragged on, he would outlast them all.
"Come!" Alexander shouted, his voice filled with confidence as he pounced forward toward three of the hounds.
The first beast lunged at him, its jaws opening wide to swallow his arm whole. Alexander threw a straight punch right into its gaping mouth.
The hound snickered inwardly, thinking it had outsmarted him. Its teeth snapped shut, attempting to crush his arm, but the moment they made contact, the beast’s eyes widened in shock.
Its fangs met something unbreakable. Alexander’s skin was as hard as rock. Before the beast could increase the pressure of its bite, Alexander’s fist drove deeper, crashing straight into its throat.
A sickening crack echoed as the hound’s eyes rolled back, its body losing all color.
The force of the blow sent powerful shockwaves rippling through the hound’s entire body, especially its brain, instantly shutting it down.
Not only that, but the sheer impact launched the beast backward as if it had been hit by a speeding ten-wheeler truck.
Its lifeless body crashed through the air, slamming into the ground with a heavy thud, leaving behind a trail of dust and broken earth.

"So they’re called Grave Hounds?" Alexander muttered in understanding as he read the translucent panel before him.
"There are Ground Hounds, now Grave Hounds... what’s next? Lava Hounds?" he muttered to himself filled with amusement.
Shifting his gaze away from the system panel, he saw the two remaining Grave Hounds that had followed the first. They wasted no time and lunged at him with ferocious intent.
But Alexander stood his ground. The moment they entered his reach, he extended both arms and caught them by the neck.
Despite their large size, he lifted them off the ground with sheer brute strength.
The Grave Hounds thrashed violently, their massive forms suspended in the air. His hands couldn’t even fully wrap around their thick necks, yet his fingers clenched like iron clamps, cutting off their air supply.
A pained howl escaped from both beasts as they struggled desperately against his grip. The remaining Grave Hounds, witnessing their kin being captured and only a moments away from death, roared in fury.
About 10 Grave Hounds rushed towards him in every direction, Alexander just increased his grip breaking their necks. Their momvements finally died down as they fall towards the ground.

As the Grave Hounds closed in, Alexander remained calm, his expression unwavering. His eyes turned red, and his aura shifted dramatically, exuding an overwhelming presence.
Then, he raised his right leg. Applying immense force, he hammered it down onto the ground like a warhammer crashing into a stone.
Boom!
The ground beneath him shattered, sending debris and dust flying in all directions. The sheer air pressure from the impact was so powerful that the charging Grave Hounds were thrown back, their bodies sent tumbling through the air.
From above, the aftermath became clear a small crater had formed at the epicenter of his attack, while cracks spread outward, stretching ten meters in radius.
Even the surrounding trees couldn’t withstand the force, their trunks snapping as they collapsed onto the ground.
The Grave Hounds that had remained back, watching their kin charge forward, were also affected by the attack since they were within range of the devastating shockwave.
It was as if a small grenade had detonated, sending fragments of shattered rock flying in all directions, striking those within the blast radius.
Even the ones who had been outside the immediate impact zone suffered minor injuries from the sheer force of the explosion.
However, the Grave Hounds closest to Alexander, within 3 to 5 meters, took the full brunt of the attack. The shockwave alone was so powerful that it crushed their bodies, killing them instantly.
It almost seemed as if Alexander had used a powerful skill. But in reality, he hadn’t.
If he had used an actual skill, the effective radius wouldn’t have been just 10 meters, it would have been 50.
The ten Grave Hounds that had been struck by sharp rock fragments, hurled at high speed by the shockwave, suffered a slow and agonizing death.
The jagged debris tore through their flesh and bones, embedding deep within their bodies. Perishing in the most painful way possible.

As the dust settled, the entire area lay in ruins. The terrain had changed completely, and even trees far from the impact zone were bent and twisted.
The ones that had been caught within the radius were completely uprooted, their trunks snapped like twigs. Painful wails of the Grave Hounds echoed throughout the battlefield.
Alexander did not waste this time. He rushed toward the injured beasts, mercilessly finishing them off one by one.
With brutal punches, he shattered their skulls. With vicious kicks, he broke their ribs, leaving them gasping and choking in agony.
It was as if the mercy in his heart was slowly disappearing. A barrage of system notifications rang in his ears, but he ignored them, continuing his carnage.
One Grave Hound, barely clinging to life, crawled on the ground, dragging itself forward with only its two front legs.
Its right leg was impaled by a jagged rock-like fragment, rendering it completely immobile.
Alexander’s cold gaze fell upon the creature. The Grave Hound locked eyes with him, its yellow pupils filled with despair.
Alexander just stomped at it to unlived it in one go, he does not want to let them savor the so-called pain since that is a bit heartless even for him.

Hearing the system notification, Alexander let out a slight sigh. Everything had gone too smoothly even though he had faced a large number of enemies, he had felt no real challenge.
Opening his status panel, he glanced at his current stats. A satisfied smile crept onto his face as he see that his Omnipoints were now nearing 1,000.
[Bonus Reward: 150 Omnipoints]
Alexander, upon reading the sudden translucent panel, was speechless. "A thousand now, I guess," he mused to himself.
[Omnipoints: 1,093]
"With this, I can finally upgrade my skill to perfection. My swordsmanship will improve drastically," Alexander thought to himself.
"What’s the point of training when I can just spend points to master it instantly?"
It wasn’t his fault that he had a cheat-like ability. If he had the means to skip the hard work and achieve perfection directly, why shouldn’t he?
"Razon, calculate..." Before he could even finish his command, the ground beneath him trembled.
A slight tremor rippled through the surroundings, causing loose rocks and debris to shift. Then, from the dark forest to his side, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed, each one booming like a drumbeat.
Something massive was approaching.
The tree branches shook wildly, creating a loud rustling sound as something massive approached.
Alexander’s eyes narrowed, his expression turning serious. He instinctively took five steps back, ensuring the beast would step into the moonlit clearing.
"Don’t tell me... another Hound?" Alexander grumbled, already annoyed by the thought.
Finally, the beast emerged into full view, and for the first time that night, a shiver ran down his spine.
He had to tilt his head up just to take in its full size. It was over five meters tall as the massive, hulking creature stood before him, its shadow looming.
"Sheesh..." Alexander exhaled sharply.
"Now this is going to be a challenge." A moment ago, he had been bored and disappointed at how easy everything was.
But now? Finally, something worthy of his attention.
But would he lose?
Nah, he’ll win!
