Chapter 27: Chapter 26 Driven by Frustation

[The mana you have will act as the conduit but not the source, so the mana merely serves as the medium to project that energy outward, forming the visible arc. However, the power behind it comes from the force of your strike, which is your strength. That is why the skill remains effective even with low magic power.]

"Naruhodo," Alexander nodded. (TL: I see)

"So, heavy weapons are really the only things that suit me. But since I’ve already used up my points for this skill, I should try to improve my swordsmanship," Alexander concluded as he decided to get to work.

With that, he decided to practice what he had learned. He then went a bit further but not too far inside, as he knew how dangerous it was.

When he was in the middle of his travels, about four Ground Hounds appeared; they were already mid-air in front of him.

Alexander closed his eyes and replayed the image in his mind, the fluid movements, precise strikes, and, most importantly, the elegant flow that carried the blade as if it were an extension of his body.

This was what the system had shown him, the essence of swordsmanship. To become a swordsman and not a barbarian, brute force was not the key; rather, it was balance and control.

With that, he gripped the hilt of his sword, his breathing steadying as the snarls of the four Ground Hounds filled the air.

The first Ground Hound, which had reached him closely, lunged with its claws outstretched and teeth bared. Alexander did not dodge but continued forward, his eyes attempting to mimic the move.

Shing

His blade swung wide, but the movement was too stiff, too deliberate. The sword barely scraped against the Ground Hound’s hide, leaving only a shallow cut that did nothing but enrage the beast even further.

"Hmm, too much force," Alexander muttered, his brows furrowing as he raised his sword and examined it.

"I guess I overextended," he mused to himself.

Meanwhile, the other three uninjured Ground Hounds were baffled. When they landed on the spot where the human had been standing, they realized—he was no longer there.

Their ears twitched in confusion as they whipped around to face him. As their eyes locked onto their wounded companion, the sight of its injury sent a wave of fury surging through them.

Their growls deepened. Their claws dug into the ground. This human had dared to hurt one of them. Now, they were out for blood.

Two of the Ground Hounds could no longer hold back. Even though they felt a hint of skepticism toward the human in front of them, their rage overpowered their caution.

Without hesitation, they dashed forward like speeding bullets, their claws digging into the dirt as they charged.

Alexander, still lost in thought, had his back turned toward them. But just as they closed the distance, he instinctively pivoted his footing even though his movement was slightly off.

But thanks to his speed, he easily dodged the attack. Immediately, he swung his sword again, this time aiming for a smooth diagonal slash.

However, the power behind his strike once again disrupted his balance. His blade clanged awkwardly against one of the Hound’s claws, the impact sending out a shower of sparks as his sword recoiled from the clash.

"Damn it! Did I even learn at all?" Alexander growled angrily as he pulled back his sword in frustration, putting it in his system storage.

The Ground Hound that had blocked his attack felt ecstatic upon seeing the human momentarily retreating.

Meanwhile, another Ground Hound, already positioned low to the ground, prepared to strike at his belly, a wicked glint in its eyes.

But just as Alexander sighed in disappointment at his lack of talent, he suddenly put his sword back into his inventory.

The attacking Ground Hound didn’t hesitate, its claws mere inches away from tearing into his stomach. Yet, in that split second, it saw something else.

A fist it was fast, powerful, practically an unstoppable one.

The closer it got, the bigger it seemed, until the beast could feel it, the looming presence of death.

And it was not wrong. The moment Alexander’s fist collided with the top of its head, the force was so overwhelming that the skull caved in instantly.

Its tongue, which had been hanging out, was bitten off as its own teeth were forcibly slammed shut from the sheer impact of the blow.

Even though Alexander had halted his punch midway, the Ground Hound’s head still smashed into the ground first.

The earth cracked beneath the force, and with a sickening crunch, its skull shattered. A cloud of dust and debris erupted from the impact, signaling the beast’s instant death.

Even though Alexander had only failed twice, the frustration that is inside of him was still boiling.

He wasn’t angry at himself, he was angry at the way the beast looked at him, as if mocking his efforts.

Because of that irritation it greatly fueled his attack. Looking down, he saw another Ground Hound completely stunned, it was frozen in place.

Without hesitation, Alexander with his eyes cold and merciless, threw a devastating right hook at its side.

The moment his fist connected, the Ground Hound’s body twisted violently. The impact felt as if a giant hammer had smashed into its face, sending it flying through the air.

Its body tumbled mid-flight, looking like a broken kite that had lost its strings. The sight was so ridiculous that, if its under a different circumstances, it might have been funny. But its NOT!!!

Alexander activated his bloodline, deciding to finish the beasts with his fists instead.

His sword’s durability had already taken a hit when his previous attack was deflected. If he continued using it recklessly, it would break.

The moment his bloodline awakened, his passive skill, "Behemoth’s Presence," was triggered.

The two remaining Ground Hounds, who had once only felt fear before. Were now experiencing something far worse.

It was utter despair. Before them stood not a man, but a monster, a living nightmare for them. Alexander’s cold, piercing gaze fell upon them

Their bodies locked in place, petrified, as if they had already seen their own deaths. Both of their legs were refusing to move, the fear is rooting them to the ground.

That is when Alexander moved, in an instant, his body shot forward like a missile.

With both hands raised, he brought them down in a devastating hammer strike, crashing his fists onto the two frozen beasts.

Even though he had only used half of his strength, the impact was still overwhelming. A 1.5-meter-wide spiderweb crack spread across the ground beneath them.

Their bodies were smashed into the earth, blood splattering in every direction. Alexander, still in a squatting stance, slowly stood up, his movements was eerily calm.

Then, he shifted his gaze behind him. There, more Ground Hounds stood but he saw that it was somewhat different.

Their skins were gray, their figures were much larger, and their aura were far more menacing than the ones he had just killed.

Their appearance alone was enough to make it clear. These were no ordinary Ground Hounds.
