Needless to say, the return of the moon elf lord with a group of powerful moon elves ushered a wave of discussion among his new subordinates. There was a feeling of nervousness among them but they are alert and still reasonable.

"Who are they?" asked Cain as he was eyeing the newly arrived moon elves. He could vaguely perceive their strength and it means that they should be stronger than him.

"They are sentinels and priests from the temple," said Manulus. All 52 of them came back from collecting wood with Xagrien as per the moon elf lord’s order.

They are carrying stacks of wood that they dried using the technique that they learned from years of moving and fleeing.

That taciturn friend of his hinted the arrival of the moon elf lords subordinates.

Now, they are being called for a supposed meeting before they start their attack.

"It is said that they are the moon elf lord’s entourage." Manulus guessed after seeing their clothes and armors.

"Oh," Cain responded He tried to correlate it to their tradition in their orc tribe. "Just like our tribe’s witch and his chosen guards."

"Well, you can indeed say that but the priests and the sentinels are mainly serving the temple. They hardly dabble in the affairs of the clans but their influence in the entire race is said to be wide. They hold authority to different aspects of the moon elves’ lives. Security, peace and anything that concerns our survival. From what I heard, they are the sole source of all kinds of potions, manage and monitor the strong mystic beasts that could potentially cause a disaster and they are in charge of handling conflicts between the clans. However, one must be tied or recognized by the temple to do business with them."

Cain thought of their previous situation, before they met the moon elf lord. "I can’t say if they are good or bad," and then pointedly looked at Manulus. "You strangely know a lot about them?"

Manulus gave a knowing look to his brother, Kalux.

"Nothing’s strange at all, we are exiled from our clan in the first place. Besides, what I know barely scratches the surface. They must have deeper power that ordinary folks like me are unaware of." The moon elf with seemingly weak physical strength said helplessly.

"Oh," Cain was taken aback. They may be together for a long time but most of them are not willing to talk about their past wounds.

"Since the moon elf lord brought us with him, then we must be in a better situation from now on."

"I sure hope so." Everyone who heard Cain’s words uttered this silently.

" They will not fight with us, right?" Wendell, the eldest among the orc children, voiced his deepest concern. He likes the moon elf lord and his instinct tells him that the beautiful elder brother who took them to fly is good.

It would be saddening for him if their benefactor and his original subordinates have discordant opinions about them.

However in little Wendell’s mind, if ever things turn south and they are attacked, then they will of course fight back. They kick the asses of that beautiful elder brother’s subordinates, while sparing the former.

"You don’t have to worry about anything now, Wendell. The moon elf lord’s words are the highest authority in our race and he already promised our safety."

"Then will we have our own home as promised?" another orc child butted in looking ecstatic.

"Yes." The originally silent Xagrien answered this time. His brilliant purple eyes have a shadow of hope. "But first we need to help the moon elf lord deal with those black nasty creatures that you saw in the tunnel."

After this statement, milky voices popped up on their side. All expressing their willingness to help Luis.

"Me too! Me too!"

"I’ll help the moon elf lord! That elder brother who made me fly!"

It seems like Luis really conquered the hearts of these children. Xagrien oddly felt a sense of pride after seeing this.

’Seems like that bearer could charm his way to anybody’

They didn’t take long and they finally reached the place where the moon elf lord is standing.

Help has arrived. Luis didn’t waste more time and he immediately made his move to build his first stage of revenge.

The moon elf lord also manage to bring back the chick with huge amounts of Golden Belladonna’s fruits and leaves.

He wrapped it in multiple layers of animal skins and fabrics to make sure not to accidentally poison anyone.

Luis heaved a sigh. ’How I missed my portable space.’

If it weren’t for the cranky system then he can still easily store these toxic plants that he will use later.

"I can hold that for you, my lord." Olyn volunteered.

"No way, I can still hold this afloat so it is not inconvenient."

Of course, before he came back he first listened to the report of the two handsome DILFs. The situation on the other side is looking bleak but it is still under control.

Luis intended to let these matters known to his new subordinates so he called all of them after they came back.

The moon elf lord briefed them the state of the entire Shane Greenwoods.

"To that extent?!" They cannot help but exclaim after hearing that the other group discovered the presence of the root crawlers in almost all parts of the forest.

The little white bird who is imprisoned by the moon elf lord’s hands squirmed out of surprise.

"Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!" ’Are these ugly featherless creatures asking for death?! How dare you yell in my presence?’

The little chick angrily chirped while spitting wisps of poisonous gas.

"Shut up." Luis impolitely pinched it’s tiny beaks shut.

He then turned to his new subordinates who were clearly surprised because of the news.

"Yes, it won’t be long and it will not be an exaggeration to say that those root crawlers invaded the entire Shane Greenwoods." Luis confirmed. He cast a fleeting gaze to the moon elves and orcs around him.

Strangely, his eyes stopped on the conspicuous tall male with gorgeous silver hair and olive-brown skin. It was Xagrien, distracting like always.

Luis snappily looked away from this distraction and saw how the faces of his subordinates reflected gloom and undisguised guilt.

"You don’t need to be down. It is meant to happen. Those root crawlers will multiply crazily so expect to see more in the future." The moon elf lord said to console them.

"Moon elf lord, please we are willing to go and fight them underground." Kalux bravely declared. "It is our responsibility since we made the tunnels."

"That won’t do," Nicol interjected after asking the moon elf lord to let him speak to which Luis responded with a nod.

"As of this moment, we have received reports from our scouts that there are a total of 238 tunnels all throughout this woodland. All of these have confirmed the invasion of root crawlers. It was scattered on all four territories of Adriha, Hyon, Yultin, and Portun Clans. Because of it’s wide range of influence, we have decided to convene all the clans to control and combat this."

"Pardon my interruption, ah," Manulus awkwardly asked. He doesn’t know the identity of the other so he is being careful to his words.

"Nicol, the head priest of the temple." Luis introduced the handsome priest.

To say that the always calm and collected Manulus was surprised was an understatement. He is shocked with his eyes on the verge of popping out! Manulus was explaining how the temple is out of their league earlier and yet here he is talking with the head figure of the temple!

His moon elf comrades are not any better.

They were just wandering rogues a day ago. Never in their imagination that they will ever get to interact with a big shot from the temple.

"H-head Priest Nicol, pardon if I wasn’t polite." Manulus continued after a momentary stupor. He made sure to keep his tone as polite as possible.

"I just have to confirm. But as far as we can remember, we only made at most 124 winding pathways." His brown eyes were firm with undisguised certainty.

"Actually, I am sure because I planned the structure of the tunnels that we made."

"It should be made by those root crawlers. The space that they have cannot keep up with their reproduction."

Luis then looked at Kalux and the others who were showing eagerness to attack at this very moment.

"Kalux, I can understand that you guys are eager because you felt guilty. But don’t worry. We will make sure to hit the back of their head.It was proven to be tricky to deal with those root crawlers underground. Legland, the leader of the temple’s sentinels could attest to that."

Most moon elves widen their eyes in disbelief. ’Leader of the sentinels?!’ They have encountered sentinels a few times but that is as they are fleeing. It is simply unbelievable that they are now in the presence of such authority!

The orcs who have ideas after they were told by Manulus a while ago are also overwhelmed.

It seems that they are correct in joining the moon elf lord! Fortunately, they listened to Xagrien’s words!

"That is indeed the case. Those root crawlers are staying underground without any signs of going to the surface so we don’t have any choice but to go underground. We tried to widen the space of the tunnel to make it easier for us to move around but it only backfired since they can easily outnumber us." Legland explained his experience.

"That can’t be! Then why did those root crawlers suddenly surfaced that night?" Ilian whispered.

Xagrien heard this and he thoughtfully looked at Luis.

Luis raised his right brows after he met the male’s purple eyes.

"If we can’t win against them in their set up, then we should move the battlefield to somewhere else. And this time, we should make sure to maximize our advantages."

"Let’s throw them off of their game without them knowing." Luis wore a cryptic smile.
