There's Something Wrong With You, My Lord!
Chapter 197: The First Star (1)

Chapter 197: The First Star (1)

Nicol was panting hard after letting out all his emotions in that single roar. He never thought that the composure that he’s been holding onto would crumble once again. And it was all because of the person who contributed most to his present character.

The Moon Elf Lord is right; everything will come full circle when the right timing arrives.

Nicol’s chest is rising and falling at a quick pace. Tiredness or hatred, the head priest could not put a name to what he was feeling right now. All he knew was that he felt bold.

His mind is racing. He swears that this is probably the only time that Nicol has felt that he could think quickly and still be confident he wouldn’t be wrong at all.

"Haah!" Nicol was supposed to sigh when his breathing messed up, giving him a coughing fit.

’Why is the air hot?’ He asked himself while he crouched forward; his hands were placed over their knees to support his body as he gasped for air. His eyes were slightly closed because of his body’s natural reaction, so he didn’t get a chance to look at his surroundings properly.

"Nicol!" A familiar voice called him.

He snappily raised his head and saw that the Moon Elf Lord was sitting at a good distance from him. "My Lord!" he called Luis.

Nicol took a step forward to reach the Moon Elf Lord.

However, he was more than surprised when he saw that what he was stepping on was water.

"What is hap-" Nicol’s questions halted when flashbacks of his memories started replaying in his head.

Right, he was sick before this. Because of this, the Moon Elf Lord has instructed him to take an adequate rest. But days later, he still didn’t get better at all. Then the Moon Elf Lord told him it was a huge possibility that it may be the effect of Soul-Element Resonance. And his consciousness drifted after that.

The next thing that he knew was that dream-like reliving of his memories.

Nicol tried to feel his entire body, noticing that he was no longer feverish and the heat pestering his chest had vanished.

Is he alright now?

The head priest looked once at the Moon Elf Lord, who was still looking at him. Xagrien and the cloaked man his lord calls Xerxes are the same as the Moon Elf Lord. Their expression at him was... disbelief?

Nicol traced where the three of them were looking, and even he was dumbfounded. He saw a massive sphere of fire a few hundred meters over his head. It was a glistening ball of yellow fire, and the surface around it looked alive as wisps of flame were waving from it.

"Is it just me, or it looked like the..." Xerxes worded out the words that had been stuck in his throat since earlier. The light from that ball of fire made the entire Woodrill Lake look like it was in the daytime!

"It looked like the sun." Luis finished the man’s word with certainty. He had seen multiple pictures of the sun from every angle, so there was no way that he would mistake it.

’Nicol’s true element was the sun.’ His thoughts resonated inside his head, sending a solid tremor in his heart.

How overpowered is that?!

Luis’s lips couldn’t stop arching up as that realization dawned upon him. He just earned a super-strong subordinate who is loyal to him!

This is the best scenario for him and his people, whether for facing the approaching apocalypse or the threats of the other races and lords!

While the Moon Elf Lord felt both excitement and astonishment, the people on the shore also expressed mixed emotions.

"My brother is finally well now, right? The Moon Elf Lord succeeded in treating my brother!" Fireal no longer cared if he looked crazy, asking the obvious to Legland.

"Yes, and he is stronger now," Legland replied with a genuine smile. Their Lord successfully treated Nicol. Then, it means that Reawakening was possible for him.

His hot blood was boiling at the thought that he would possess something like that imposing ball of fire.

If there are people who are rejoicing for the head priest’s survival from a fatal illness, there are also some who aren’t.

"Nicol managed to live?" Nihil asked out loud.

Dan from Adriha Clan heard this presumptuous reaction from Nihil, and his face couldn’t help but blacken. "Watch your words, Old Nihil. Someone passing by would have thought you wished for something terrible to happen to your son."

After he said that, he didn’t bother to lengthen their exchange, and he continued watching what was happening in the middle part of the lake. "What is that fantastical thing?"

That question is also Nicol’s question in his mind.

Seeing the lost expression of his subordinate, Luis stepped forward to explain. "That is the product of Soul-Element Resonance. Nicol, your True Element."

"True Element, My Lord?" the head priest asked in confusion.

Luis then went on to inform him of everything that Nicol missed. From explaining the mechanics of Soul-Element Resonance to True Elements, the Moon Elf Lord ensured that none of those crucial things was missed.

"So now, you will not only be able to control and conjure normal fire or the flesh-eating fire," Luis pointed at the ball of flame over them, "You can also use that."

Nicol’s goosebumps on his arms and nape were already present from the start of the Moon Elf Lord explanation.

Is there such a good thing?! Did he really experience that?

Those questions flashed in his head. But his trust and belief in the Moon Elf Lord weigh more than anyone or anything.

People may call it blind faith. Nicol doesn’t care anymore.

Based on his lord’s words, he closed his eyes and tried to control the newfound power that he awakened.

Luis and the other two men who followed him like a tail or shadow tacitly took a step back, seeing the change in the sphere above them.

"Watch out for the flares," the two heard the Moon Elf Lord say.

Before Xerxes could even ask what the bearer meant, a long strip of fire landed like a ribbon on the water’s surface.

Sizzle. Sizzle.

Nicol opened his eyes to see where that sun came from, and he was pleasantly surprised to see the yellow fire dancing in front of him.

"M-my Lord! It indeed worked! This is my True Element!"

"Didn’t I tell you so?" Luis said smilingly. He roamed his eyes and realized that the lake tonight was exceptionally bright, so he retracted the pillars of life energy with a wave of his hand.

"Ahhh! What are you doing now?! Great Moon Elf Lord!" A voice cried from nowhere.

Luis knew who it should be just by the address for him.

The Spirit of the Heart of the Forest appeared in its splendid Winged Serpent form.

"You moon elves are setting the land on fire! I let it pass before because all of you are not yourselves due to that thing you called wine. But not this time!"

"Oh, is that so? I apologize," Luis nonchalantly said.

The tree spirit, who decided it was the perfect time to nag, faced Nicol, who was still hung up with the refreshing and thrilling feeling of using his new powers.

"And this moon elf is the one who is sick, right? Why are you using your powers?"

"Hey," Luis intercepted any plans of the tree spirit to speak longer. "He was using his power to get better. Spare him."

"Oh," The Winged Serpent looked at Luis as if he was weighing if what was said to him was true. Xerxes stepped forward to testify that it was indeed the case.

"So how was it," Luis approached Nicol with Xagrien tailing him.

"I feel fine... earlier. But now I am a bit tired, My Lord."

"That is natural. It’s especially straining during first times," Luis said.

His eyes rounded a little, realizing that he may somewhat say some innuendo with his wording.

The Moon Elf Lord had some word to correct it, but he vetoed it after some thinking because it might sound even more suspicious if he did.

"Can you retract that sphere? Or make it disappear?" Luis asked. Nicol’s face started to break some sweat. He feared that keeping up that sphere was taxing to Nicol.

"I think I can, My Lord." The tanned moon elf with blazing eyes responded. He closed his eyes and tried to control the sphere of fire over their heads.

Ting!

Luis almost jumped to where he was standing, hearing the message notification from the system that he didn’t expect.

[Don’t overwork your subordinate, Luis Lee. People who experienced reawakening would experience severe muscle spasms that last a few hours starting from the time they first successfully used their true element.]

[It is up to you to clean after them.]

"Holy-"

Suddenly, Nicol started to fall towards the lake. Thankfully, Xagrien quickly caught him using his enchantment [Flyffe].

However, that is the second of their concern because the miniature sun shows signs of descending.

"Great Moon Elf Lord! What is that?! Why is it falling now?! With that much fire, I feel it will explode the lake!"

To Luis, the voice of the little spirit is starting to sound like a nail grating on a chalkboard.

"Babe," Luis called Xagrien. "Shut that tree spirit for me, please."

"Got it," Xagrien answered. "But will you be safe?" he meaningfully asked.

Luis nodded with pure confidence, and only then did Xagrien swiftly jump on the flying Winged Serpent and hold its mouth shut.

On the other hand, Luis utilized nature’s energy in the air to fly and meet the little sun halfway.

Everyone on the shore held their breath seeing this. They are afraid that something may happen to their Lord, but at the same time, they want to see how their leader will sort this problem out.

Will he cut it in parts just like he did in the hill-like adamantium hammer of Master Feren? That is the question hanging in their minds. However, the Moon Elf Lord did something that is far from their expected actions.

"No way! The Moon Elf Lord touched it with just bare hands!"
