There's Something Wrong With You, My Lord!
Chapter 139: You Can Rely On Me

Chapter 139: You Can Rely On Me

Xagrien woke up with a jolt. His breath was ragged as if he ran a mile. Still disoriented after waking up from his lucid dream, no, it was the memories of his past, Xagrien looked around.

There was no rain or raging storm.

There was no stench of blood lingering in the air nor did the body of his beloved mother around.

Just a tranquil forest shrouded with darkness and him sitting on the ground while he was resting his back on the tree.

’It was just a dream,’ Xagrien whispered to himself.

He isn’t sure if he should be relieved or not because it isn’t real but the melancholy that it left lingered in his heart. No matter how many years have passed he would always mourn for what happened to his mother. This is the reason why he cannot bring himself to tell it to his beloved moon elf lord.

"Hmmmm," a cat-like purr sounded below him. Xagrien looked down and there he saw the most beautiful sight that he ever saw for years of waking up. The moon elf lord whom he cherished next to his mother was currently laying on his lap, looking comfortable and all despite the chilly wind in the Middle Circle.

How come his bearer is here? When they decided to rest for a while he especially chose a place far from the other because he felt down. He doesn’t want Luis to see him at his lowest point.

"You’re awake," Luis said casually as his eyelashes fluttered the moment he opened his eyes.

"Are you okay?" Worry is evident in the bearer’s eyes. Luis reached out to caress the cheeks of his man and when Xagrien saw this pale hand, he was immediately reminded of something.

Luis was surprised when Xagrien grabbed his wrist and inspected it. But later on, he flashed a smile.

This man really did love him, huh?

"It was nothing but a little red patch and I healed it." Luis playfully rubbed his head left and right to Xagrien’s big thighs. He meant to ease the guilt of this big daddy but it was proven to be futile.

The man only felt even more sorry.

"I’m sorry. I-" Xagrien doesn’t know how to start apologizing. "I’m supposed to protect you and yet I hurt you."

Luis could see how distressed the male was and he doesn’t like to see Xagrien as if he was melting. This is not his usual attitude.

So to diffuse the gloominess, Luis naughtily shifted his position. His small face directly facing the crotch.

Xagrien was wearing that pants so the bold bearer could see the delicious bulge of the male and it was a few inches away from him

"Luis!" The man doesn’t know if he should whisper or scream.

"You can raise your volume up since you found a place that is far from the others," the moon elf lord said. "This is the perfect place to do bad things right?"

Luis giggled when he saw Xagrien’s red and restraining face.

"You..." Xagrien breathed a heavy sigh. This is unbelievable. He was depressed a while ago yet now he was feeling things that he shouldn’t. Luis is the only one who could drive him crazy like this and he didn’t dislike it.

Instead, the sadness that’s lurking at the back of his mind is slowly fading.

All thanks to the crazy antics of his beloved bearer.

The moon elf lord put away his playful smirk and turned serious. "Let’s just forget that slapping incident. That slap is nothing but a small matter. It didn’t hurt me at all. Even if you did hurt me, always remember that you are worth it, Xagrien."

Xagrien felt as if electricity coursing through his entirety when Luis said he was worth it.

"Luis..." he could only utter but that name contains his devotion to his moon elf lord.

His bearer.

His Luis.

Luis rubbed Xagrien’s hands lovingly and then he continued, "I can understand your reaction since it concerns your mother. It’s been a while since you heard his name coming from someone else so that must cause you a great shock but are we sure that voice is referring to your mother?"

The moon elf lord pointed out.

Xagrien was silent for a while, pondering over things. Maybe Luis was his calming spell, he could clearly see the things that he missed.

Luis joined the silence too while looking at the male’s gorgeous face. However, the rip on Xagrien’s shirt keeps on waving at him so he always finds himself looking through it and at the hidden chiseled chest.

Yum.

"Luis..."

"Hmmm?" Luis’ eyes reluctantly broke away from the nice sight and focused on looking at his serious boyfriend.

Xagrien decided to tell Luis about how he lost his mother and his last words.

No longer playing around, Luis sat beside Xagrien and held his hand as he listened to the tragic experience of his lover when he was a child.

It may be faint but Luis could make out from the clear tone of Xagrien’s voice that he treasured the memories he had before Mori’s death.

Just listening and imagining it is enough to tug at his heartstrings.

"I don’t know how to express my-" Luis tried to word out his sadness but Xagrien only cut him with a brief kiss.

"It’s your time to forget your sorry, my lord." Xagrien’s silver eyes were clouded with happiness and sadness. Yes, he was sad as he remembered his mother’s death but he was also happy knowing that Luis is here with him.

Sympathy was probably a trivial thing but it gets special if it comes from the person that you cherish.

"I can handle it well now so there’s no need for you to worry about it," Xagrien said.

’Because I have you here with me.’ he held Luis’ hand tighter.

Probably because he confided in his lover, his chest became lighter, as if a weight was lifted off him.

"I might be greatly affected because the man’s words resemble the... last words of my mother," Xagrien explained the reason why he acted on edge at that time.

Luis felt like he was struck by lightning when he heard this.

How come the man behind the things that triggered the quest knows the name of Xagrien’s mother? What if...

Xagrien, who was oblivious to the fact that he set the cogs in Luis’ head in motion, prepared himself to stand and said, "They are related to the new quest right? I’m happy that with this, you can unlock one of your skills. I think I can trace the lingering mana from the illusion spell and it’s in the same-"

He didn’t get a chance to finish his word when Luis pulled him to stay seated. "Luis?"

"Hey, wait a minute," Luis wormed his way towards Xagrien’s lap. But this time, he sat straddling the male.

Caught in surprise, Xagrien looked at his bearer with wide eyes. What is this now?

Is his bearer asking for it? The raging hormones of a 21-year-old growing male rushed to Xagrien’s system.

"Don’t look at me like that," Luis immediately said when he saw how Xagrien looked at him. ’This man is getting constantly horny whenever I cross our personal boundary like this. What a perv."

"I’m here to talk about some serious matters so behave."

"My lord..." Xagrien could only say.

After setting himself on Xagrien’s thighs, Luis scrutinizes the ripped shirt of the male.

"If you continued playing your fingers on that... I might think you are up to something," Xagrien said, his face instantly flaming when Luis’ face was just inches from his.

"Those ice illusions reacted weirdly when they managed to wound you, did you notice it?" Luis whispered.

"They stopped their attacks and melted as if the one behind them had given up. Then we heard the sound of the man’s voice."

Luis slowly cited all the details that seemed off earlier. His head was churning this information at such an impressive speed that he was a bit nauseous of it.

"Xagrien, I know it’s presumptuous to consider it. But what if your mother knows this powerful man who created those ice?"

"What do you mean?" Xagrien furrowed his eyebrows a little. "I never heard my mother speak about magic so I think that might not be-"

"Xagrien," Luis cupped his lover’s face. "Parents tend to hide things from their children, especially if they are too young. Just think about this, will you ever tell our children in the future the position that we did to conceive them?"

"You have a really interesting way of saying things, Luis," Xagrien replied with a smirk on his face.

Luis flipped his hair, looking proud.

"Of course, I am the moon elf lord."

The moon elf lord crossed his arms over his chest, "Seriously though, this is the only explanation I could only come up with, he might have thought that you are your mother because part of your blood was his."

"He put away his aggression since they are probably friends?"

"But what if he just read my memories through my blood and said that to mentally attack me?"

Luis cocked a brow at Xagrien. This personification of trust issues. But for the record, that might be the case.

Some races could possibly do that using their bloodline magic.

Luis sighed. There’s that crappy quest too. Secrets of the Dead. Sounds like a mission where they have to face a necromancer as a big boss.

Or maybe zombies...

Luis shook his head at that thought.

’We can’t assume it recklessly considering that the details of the quest are full of holes and it has no clear punishment once we fail...’

Luis scrunched his nose, ’Plus there is no given time limit, maybe it wouldn’t hurt if I focus on looking for the Dragon Vein? But then, this matter must be important to Xagrien since this concerns his mother.’

The moon elf lord is on the verge of banging his head to the ground.

When there’s a lot of things on the plate. It’s a matter of setting up priorities.

And Luis sucked at that. Not completely but his patience doesn’t cover that.

Xagrien watched as Luis’ expression changed like the cloudy sky.

He knew that Luis must be confused right now and he is partly at fault.

Xagrien looks at Luis with doting eyes.

"You can rely on me, my lord."
