She sounded a little disappointed.

Alix had known her friend long enough to know what she desired.

Holea wanted her to put everything Lin in the rear view mirror and keep driving in the direction of the sunrise.

“Not necessarily.

I don’t need to come in person to visit and punish them when i can send someone else.

I really and truly am done with the Lin’s.

I don’t need baggage like that when i am preparing for my happily ever after.”  From now on, Majesty would take care of the Lin family.

As long as he didn’t kill them he would have free reign to do as he pleased.

She lowered the window of the car slightly and stuck her nose outside, sipping her milkshake slowly, she smiled.

Memories of her mother surfaced in her mind.

She would be happy if she had lived to see this day, the day when Jing Hee had fear in her eyes.

Alix wondered if she would be proud since some of her frustration had been vented.

“Today is a good day to visit the beautiful woman.”  She looked in front, “Uncle Ju, let’s make a stop somewhere first.

I have someone to see briefly.” Uncle Ju did as she requested, driving her to the columbarium where she had shifted her mother’s ashes.

Not just her mother but her uncle and grandfather all on her mother’s side of the family.

Holea and the children went with her.

She stopped first by the flower shop and bought her mother’s favorite flowers.

Holea did the same and she even gave the children flowers as well.

They followed Alix inside quietly to where her mother had been laid to rest.

The flowers were distributed between all three, her mother, uncle and grandfather.

“Beautiful woman, i am here.” she touched the picture of her mother and smiled.

“I brought company today.

You remember Holea, right?

She is the one who has been taking care of me for some years now but the duty has been transferred to another person.

I brought my niece and nephew as well, this is Xiaobo and Mumu.

They brought your favorite flowers.”  Alix touched both children on the heads, Xiaobo first and then Mumu.

They said some greetings and Holea led them away, leaving Alix with privacy to say all she wanted to her mother.

“Those people that contributed to the stress which led to you early death, i have dealt with them.

You should close your eyes and rest in peace now.

You can trust the fact that your daughter will never losses again.

I am having a second wedding, my own wedding.

Next time, i will bring my husband to visit, i promise.” She said a few more words and then put a picture of herself, Caishen and the Tai’s besides a picture of herself and her mother.

The picture she added was one which had been taken on the day of her party, when she became an official Tai.

There was space for more pictures and she planned to add one from the day of her wedding and when they had children, she would also add them.

She greeted her uncle and grandfather, then left the columbarium.

Uncle Ju dropped her and Xiaobo at the Blossom courts and then took Holea and Mumu home.

Xiaobo was very sleepy, so much so that Alix had to carry the boy into the house and she put him to bed with nanny Wang’s help.

“He must have played around a lot to be this exhausted.” the nanny commented.

“He also stuffed himself with pastries and junk.” Alix whispered as they left the bedroom.

“Aren’t the boys back?”  “They are at the golf course with the young masters.

Will you be eating now or later?”  “Later, when my husband returns.” Alix confirmed.

She went to the bathroom and took a bath, then walked to her music room.

First, she checked on the cranky chicken and as usual it was displeased to see her.

It didn’t sleep in a cage anymore.

Caishen had ordered a cat bed for it and they had created a nest in the corner for it.

The nest was surrounded by different potted plants and orchids.

In addition to that, the chicken had an inflatable swimming pool, a slide and a cat tree next to the window.

Sometimes, it would sit at the top and look outside at the world.

With all these changes the silly chicken had warmed up to Caishen but refused to warm up to her.

“You are more unhappy to see me than usual, what are you hiding back there?”  The closer she moved, the louder the chicken clucked and acted more vigilant like she was on the look out for predators.

It had its wings spread wide and the feathers appeared larger than usual.

Every time Alix’s hand came close to it, it tried to peck her.

A peck from an ordinary chicken was not something that would frighten her but one from the two legged monster chicken was not to be taken lightly.

She morphed into a dragon, but only changed her head and roared.

It was frightened and it turned around to escape, revealing what it was hiding.

Hidden in it’s thick wings was a fluffy little chick, so small and cute that Alix couldn’t help making ‘awww’ sounds to express how cute she found the little chick.

Her head changed to human form and she immediately snatched the chick with lightning speed.

“I had forgotten that you are a girl chicken, a hen.” she laughed and gently run her right hand over the soft cute chick.

Mother hen impatiently clucked and fluffed up her feathers again.

Gone was the fear in her eyes as she sharpened her claws and readied herself to confront the enemy.

Her clucks picked up an urgency right before she flew at Alix.

Alix laughed and stepped to the the side, narrowly avoiding the claws of the hen.

The door to the music room opened at that point and Caishen peeked inside.

“Open the damn door.” Zhang Bo pushed the door wide open.

“Sister-in-law, we heard the hot tempered death machine of a chicken making so much noise.

Has it bitten your arm off?

I don’t know why you have not stewed that death machine yet.” He was complaining before seeing the little chick.

Mother hen meanwhile run up to Caishen and clucked with one of her wings pointing in Alix’s direction.

Alix who missed the sight of the hen reporting to her to it’s favorite human was busy presenting the chick the way Simba was presented in the movie, the lion king.

“Look hubby, chicken is a girl and she had a baby.”
