481: Not worth it.

481: Not worth it.

Finally, Alix experienced some satisfaction.

Jing Hee’s mighty haughtiness was gone, replaced with terror.

“My schedule is fuller lately, i don’t have time to play with you anymore.

I heard that all your fingers and toes were broken and the doctors won’t be able to save them.

What will you do in future, no voice, crippled fingers and unable to walk.

Will you refer to yourself as cripple as you have always called me?

And when you are living the rest of your life out in a wheelchair, will you remember how many times you called my husband that word?

Your daughter…”  She saw Jing Hee’s eyes widen and she laughed.

“I will make sure that the caretaker regularly updates you on the condition of your daughter.

Unfortunately, it will not improve for at least twenty seven years.”  Jing Hee moved from side to side, ignoring all of the pain she was under.

When it came to her daughter, she was ready to give all of her undivided attention to Alix.

“What?” Just as she started to ask the question, she stopped because something surprised her.

Her voice seemed to be fading and it had taken on a whisper like quality.

“What?” she tried to touch her throat with a trembling hand and failed because her broken arms and fingers were all wrapped in bandages.

She opened her mouth and said a few more words but the result was the same, her words were inaudible.

Alix took a deep breath and sighed.

The room smelled like disinfectant and medicine but to her, the smell might as well have been that of fresh roses in full blossom.

She looked at Jing Hee one last time and felt the knot in her heart come loose.

When she walked into the room, she had come with many questions, like why Jing Hee had treated her the way she did.

Why she tormented her mother by sending her pictures of herself and her child, causing her mother’s blood pressure to rise which contributed to her sickness and death.

She wanted to ask her why she didn’t just stay in the shadows like other mistresses and raise her daughter silently.

Why she denied her peace, food, water, a bed, clothes, and most importantly, a father.

Would it have killed her to be kind, even if it was pretend.

Was ruining her the only way to build her daughter’s future?

So many questions, a myriad of them and yet now, looking at the Jing Hee, Alix didn’t feel the need to ask.

It didn’t matter anyway, the answers would not erase the past or change it.

Jing Hee was not worth any space in her mind anymore.

It was time to kick her out permanently.

“Won’t you make her the twenty seven year deal?” her system asked.

“No, she can live in the hell of her own body forever.” Alix would never forgive Jing Hee and she would never allow her to heal in any way.

She was too dangerous to be given even the smallest chance of recovery.

The protection and happiness of her brothers mattered.

“In a way, you have actually been merciful.

If i were you, all of them would be buried deep underground with one oxygen tank for air.

A slow terrifying death is what i would give them.” The system drew out the image for Alix on the virtual screen.

“You and your bad ideas,” she rolled her eyes.

“Let’s go Bi Cang, i think i need a gigantic chocolate milkshake and some dough sticks.”  Simply thinking about the two things caused her stomach to growl.

It had been more than three hours since her last meal.

Visiting these three people had taken up quite a lot of energy.

“Revenge is hard work.” she laughed.

They left the floor of the hospital which had only three patients, the Lin family.

In the same fashion, the doctor and two nurses snuck into Jing Hee’s room.

Before the elevator arrived on the first floor of the hospital, the captain in the hidden city was already receiving a phone call.

Tai Alix had broken Lin Qianfan’s spine and Jing Hee had lost her vocal abilities.

“Got it.” the captain sighed.

Tai Alix just might give him more trouble than any other system host.

Murder in the morning and revenge in the evening, she was one busy woman.

Alixx meanwhile was happy because as soon as she got to her car, uncle Ju was waiting with that large chocolate milkshake and many dough sticks.

Xiaobo stuck his head out of the window and waved a dough stick in one hand.

“Auntie, i have one too.”  She smiled at the boy and entered the car, only to be met with surprise because Holea was inside as well with her daughter Mumu.

Alix had been under the impression that her friends had both left.

“Cutie Mumu, aunt has missed you.” Alix tickled the little girl under the chin.

“Aunt Alix, Mumu has missed you too.” The girl replied in adorable voice.

Alix squealed and held her hands out, intending to hug the girl was was half a niece and half a daughter to her.

“Calm down.” Holea held her daughter back.

“Also, settle down and drink your milkshake.

The car is already on the move, if you keep twisting you will spill it everywhere.”  Xiaobo and Mumu giggled.

They had been scolded by mama Holea too and told to settled down only a minute ago.

They had also been warned not to spill their milkshakes.

Alix scoffed playfully and leaned back.

Then, she enjoyed the first taste of the chocolate milkshake through a straw with relish on her face.

It was sweet and plain, without a mixture of any other flavors, one hundred percent chocolate, as she liked it.

“I am happy to see you Holea but i am confused.

Do we have plans for later that i forgot about about?”  Holea was wiping away dough stick crumbs from Mumu’s mouth.

“No, i asked uncle Ju where you had gone and he told me about the people you were visiting.

I stayed behind to make sure that you are okay.

You cried yesterday and i want to be around in case you cry again today.”  Alix groaned.

“Does everyone know that i cried?”  “Jin Kang and rich girl Zhang told me all about it.

Why am i the last to hear about something like this?”  “Me, crying is not exactly breaking news.

That silly Jin Kang and her mouth.

She only knows because my brothers beat up her boyfriend.

I wonder how many more people she has told.” Alix could only imagine how fast the news was travelling.

Maybe the teachers at school were also aware now.

Perhaps the mall employees as well were in the know.

“Me.” Mumu raised her hand eagerly.

“Aunt Jin Kang told me to give you a big hug because you cried.”  Alix gave Holea a ‘see what i am talking about’ look.

“Is it done or will you be making more visits?” Holea asked her.

Alix tilted her head from side to side.

“Eighty percent.”
