“You.”  Without hesitation, he gave her the answer she wanted to hear.

Deep down, he found the cute blue elf with sharp ears good looking too.

In fact, it was adorable but he knew without a doubt that i he said the elf was cuter, she would sulk.

She was becoming an expert in sulking more and more, whether it was a side effect of the way he pampered her, the love the Tai’s were giving her or the pregnancy he was sure of and yet she seemed not to know of, he couldn’t guess.

Thinking of the possible pregnancy had him moving his hands to her stomach again.

Initially, he had been terrified by the notion of possibly becoming a father but slowly by slowly, he was coming to grips with it.

He was just like the Tai’s hoping for a cute baby girl.

Each time he imagined his daughter, she was all wrapped up in pink with big beautiful eyes, and a heartstopping smile.

She would be the prettiest thing in the world.

He had been tempted to ask her many times if she was feeling any pregnancy symptoms but he held back because she wasn’t acting like it and she wasn’t weepy anymore.

She had also mentioned that the system took care of her body, perfecting it in different ways.

If she was unaware of the pregnancy was the system withholding information or had it not detected it?

In a soft voice, she asked, “Hubby, would you still love me if i was worm?”  His face fell for a second just before he put a hand over his mouth and burst into laughter.

Alix laughed along with him, wholeheartedly.

Her silly question was perhaps the most ridiculous thing he had ever heard coming out of her mouth.

He laughed until tears slipped out of his eyes and as he wiped them away, he found himself feeling an emotion that he couldn’t quite describe.

Whatever it was, it was related to his wife because he experienced it only around her lately.

It always started with serious fluttering in his stomach then his heart would follow, racing rapidly.

His hands would tremble and at times, he had to tell himself to calm down because these feelings threatened to overpower common sense.

Caishen was pretty sure about what it was that he was experiencing, he just hadn’t found the appropriate time to address it.

Out of the blue, he pulled her by the am and hugged her, squeezing her tightly.

She folded a fist and lightly hit his back without causing him any pain or discomfort.

“You haven’t answered.”  He grinned, “Because i am embarrassed for you.” “Tch.” she rolled her eyes.

“I am going to tell my grandfather that you said you would not love me even if i was a worm.” He rolled his eyes as well at the threat.

“Your grandfather lives to please you.

The old man would love you even if you were a cow.

Did you hear him telling everybody at the party how you were the best person in the world at everything.

He was so shameless in his praise of you for simple things like breathing, walking, eating.”  “Pft!” Alix chuckled.

“And then he actually arranged a sit down strike in front of Zhang construction.

With your father and uncles, men that are prominent in our country.

I had to come down from my office and apologize for taking my own wife on a date without their permission.

I am so glad that we married before they came into your life because i would not have been allowed near you if they got to you first.”  Caishen recalled how his friends had laughed at him the previous day and all through the last two weeks thanks to this matter.

The silly sit down strike had even made it to the news, nine o’clock news which everyone in the country watched.

Grandpa Tai had gone on to express his grievances, accusing Caishen of kidnapping his granddaughter.

He even threatened to sue the Zhang group as a whole.

The incident had become the most talked about in the country for two days at least, with some people finding it adorable and others finding it silly.

Alix had another title now, going from the most lucky wife in the city to the most pampered daughter in the city.

She stopped laughing and told him, “On the bright side, dozens of reporters are calling to interview me in depth.

I keep turning them down but they keep calling.

I am surprised that they didn’t approach me this much after our wedding.” “They tried but grandma stopped them.

You were not ready to face reporters under those circumstances and our relationship was uncertain.

Now, you can do whatever you want and nobody will intervene.

I think it will be good for you to do at least one interview with a reputable reporter because you did win the national violin competition.

It can be a good opportunity to promote the mall and the school.”  She nodded.

“I think we should use some of the land behind the school to build a house.” he suggested, suddenly.

She moved out of the embrace and looked at him with curiousness.

It has become very busy lately , i think it’s worse than the courts.

Maybe we should ask the bureau for land where we can build.”  She clapped her hands and her eyes lit up.

I am still in the process of negotiating with them so we can add all the terms and conditions we want.”  He hurried away, moving out of the bedroom and when he returned he had the contract in hand and a laptop.

He sat down on the bed with a focused look on his face.

Zhang Caishen the business man was out and ready to get to work.

He would make sure that his wife benefited more from the bureau than it did from her.

“Let’s start, tell me everything that you want and i will see to it that you get it.”
