The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system
Chapter 445 - 445 Hubby in the fold

445: Hubby in the fold.

445: Hubby in the fold.

Unlike the experience in the bookshop, this one went a little different because Caishen fainted, unexpectedly.

Alix didn’t expect it, and neither did the system.

She had been ready for gasping, shock, questions, perhaps he would run or scream but fainting was not anticipated.

“He is not dead, is he?” The system asked.

Alix put a finger below his nose and confirmed that he was not dead because he was breathing.

His heart was also beating normally, further proof that he was alive.

“Well that went as…” She was about to say as well as expected but that wouldn’t be an accurate description of the situation.

“I don’t know what to say.”  “At least you haven’t kill him.” it commented.

Alix sighed and picked him up.

He was unconscious so he wouldn’t sulk about this, not now anyway.

“Maybe you should have given him a heads up, like hey hubby guess what; i can change into a dragon at will, sometimes its a full dragon and other times half.”  She snorted.

“Or maybe you could have changed just your hand or head.” It suggested.

Sarcastically, she replied, “Right, because half human-half dragon me would not have scared him.

A full dragon cannot be in any way worse than a human with a dragon head.

It’s even worse i think.”  She pictured it in her mind and it was definitely worse to be human with a dragon head.

She carried him to the bedroom, helped him change his clothes and put him to bed.

Then, she went and took a bath, hoping that when she came out of the bathroom, he would be awake and ready to resume the conversation.

******** During the time when Alix had been having the system talk with Caishen, the bureau of systems had already started working on all the ways of making her life as easy and smooth as possible.

By bringing Caishen into the fold, she had basically confirmed that she would be signing the contract and joining the bureau as long as they met her conditions.

The first step in cleaning up after Alix was handling the caretaker and any hospital staff that had been present when she broke Billi’s legs.

The bureau had a system host that could erase memories and that’s what they did for anybody that saw Alix at the hospital.

Other agents of the bureau wiped and replaced the security footage which the Zhang’s had not got to.

Jing Hee had even gone to the police station to report Alix for assault.

Within minutes of her departure, the report was deleted from the system and the officer who took her statement had his memory wiped.

They snuck one of their people on to the team of doctors that were in charge of Lin Billi.

Majority of them had been with her right from her hand illness.

After everything had been wiped, a report was given to the prosecutor general.

Aang was the one who handed it in and he sighed when doing so.

“I suppose we are going to be doing this a lot more often since she said it’s a life long enmity.”  “She is valuable to us, the Lin’s are not.” The prosecutor general replied, so unbothered.

They were criminals at the end of the day.

If Alix wanted to break as many of their bones as possible, it was her choice just as long as she didn’t murder them.

She scoffed and shook his head.

That in itself was a joke because even if she did kill them, as long as she didn’t leave evidence and had a solid alibi, they could do nothing about it.

Depending on what resources she provided the bureau with from her system, they could even help her clean up the aftermath and cover up the murder.

Perhaps it was cruel but in the underground war they were fighting, Alix was worth far much more than all the Lin’s put together.

“You approve of her bringing Zhang Caishen into the fold.” Aang said.

It was more of a question than a statement.

“Are you sure that it’s a good idea?

Wealthy families that become aware of system hosts have proven to be mostly problematic in the past.” “Caishen will not bring his family into the fold unless it’s necessary.

Besides, it takes money to fight wars and the Zhang’s have that in plenty.

We cannot play to Wukong’s whims forever just because he is our biggest funder currently.

He is becoming a little too arrogant for my liking.”  Aang grinned.

“All system hosts are arrogant.”  “You are not.” The prosecutor general put away the files on this incident, locking them in a file cabinet with Alix’s name.

In there were other details and information about Alix.

“You are wrong, i just hide my arrogance better than most people.” Aang shared.

He wasn’t ashamed of it because anybody could become arrogant if they were told they were special and all system hosts thought they were special.

Some just took it a little too far, behaving as if they were Gods gift to mankind and Wukong was one of them.

“What are the chances of Wukong and Alix clashing after she joins the bureau?” Prosecutor general asked.

“High.” Without thinking it over for a second, Aang replied.

“He has already said that he wants the dragon to transport some goods for him.

Alix will not pander to him like most people do simply because he is wealthy.” “Vastly wealthy…” the prosecutor general corrected.

“Yeah, that.

I am just saying, if he talks to her the wrong way, she is going to get physical.

Alix knows only one form of self defense when she is cornered, physical fighting.

Is there a plan to keep those two apart are we going to just watch?”  The prosecutor general had a pen in his hands and while he was pondering Aang’s question, he put it between his teeth and nibbled on it slowly.

Aang winced as he watched, feeling the urge to pull the pen out of his superior’s mouth.

The man had a terrible habit of nibbling on pens and pencils when he was thinking about a difficult problem.

He was like a toddler with a pacifier.

Not only was it unsightly but it was unsanitary as well.

Thankfully, he always did it behind closed doors.

The prosecutor general removed the pen from his mouth and he shrugged.

“I say we let them fight it out and see who the top dog is.

System hosts have to be ranked into classes according to strength and right now, Alix is unranked.

She will have to prove herself in order to get the respect of her peers.”  He opened a different file which was also part of Alix’s profile, a file on the Tai’s.

“What have you learned about the Tai’s?

If the old man ever comes to learn about systems do you think he can be stopped from bragging to everyone about the uniqueness of his granddaughter?” Aang offered up all the information he had collected on all of the Tai’s so far.

One of the reasons why Alix was very important to the bureau was because she was the only system host that had ties to two of the wealthiest families in the country.

It took money to fund wars and pour into research and they could get that money using Alix.
