The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system -
Chapter 444 - 444 Happy fat orange cat
444: Happy fat orange cat.
444: Happy fat orange cat.
It took a while and more coaxing from Caishen for Alix to relax.
Nanny Luo, on Caishen’s orders brought her a glass of water.
She had been hesitant to leave but one look from Caishen had sent the older woman hurrying away.
She, in turn stopped Xiaobo from going to the study in search of Alix.
and sent him back to the three brothers that were relaxing in the living room.
When she felt normal again, Alix was filled with a small modicum of embarrassment.
“Sorry.” she muttered softly.
“For what?” he responded.
She raised her head and beseeched him with unsure eyes.
What was she apologizing for exactly, she wondered too.
Was it the system thing or the panic attack?
Technically, she had not lied to him about the system because he had never come out and asked her directly if she had a system.
“Are you okay?
How are you feeling now?
Should we go to the hospital?
I asked Mo Sen to fetch professor He in case you need to talk…” She grabbed his hand and shook her head.
“No, no professor He tonight.
Let’s just talk you and i because the professor doesn’t need to know about systems.
I just panicked because i was envisioning a future without you and it frightened me so i started to choke up and…” She was talking rapidly and Caishen was worried that she would have another panic attack so he pulled her in for a hug, embracing her tightly.
“Shhhh!
slowly slowly, take your time.
I am not going anywhere and there is no such thing as a future without me in your life.
From what i have read in those documents, i am the one that should be worried because you and other hidden people in the world have these special capabilities that most of us do not have.
What if you decide that i am not special enough for you?” She rolled her eyes.
“Tch, as if anyone could give me the princess treatment you do on a daily basis.” He treated her as if she was the most important thing in his life.
When she complained about her feet neing tired at the end of the day, he would massage them for her.
If she was too lazy to feed herself, he would feed her.
If she was too lazy to take a bath, he would carry her into the bathroom and give her a bath.
When she injured herself in any way, he would abandon whatever he was doing and rush to her.
He cared about her mental and emotional state so much that he hired professor He to help her.
He had done all this and more for her.
“So does this mean you are simply too lazy and happy to replace me.” She nodded.
“Undeniably.
I am like an orange fat happy cat living it’s best life.” “So, you are Garfield.” “No, I am Majesty.” Caishen chortled.
She was definitely like Majesty if you included the violent tendencies of the cat and it’s desire to get into trouble all the time.
They embraced for a few more minutes, finding comfort in each other while making some jokes that eased the mood by making each other laugh.
But they both knew that they couldn’t stay in a cocoon of each other’s warmth forever and they separated eventually.
“Let’s talk about this.” Caishen stood up and walked to his desk, picking up the contract and then he returned to her.
Both of them squeezed into one chair with her mostly sitting on him.
She took advantage of her position to lean her head against his chest, making herself comfortable.
As far as she figured, the hard part was over since he had assured her that nothing was going to change between them.
Caishen started from the top of the contract.
“So, there is a special branch of the government called the bureau of systems and it operates world wide.” “Yes.” Alix confirmed.
Caishen put a check mark on that part with the pen which he had also grabbed from his desk.
“The bureau is responsible for overseeing all system hosts and their affairs.” Playing around with a button on his shirt she nodded.
“Yes.” “What are system hosts?” he asked.
She raised her upper body and sat upright before making what she hoped would be a vivid clarification.
“Mmm, you remember how Lai Yanfang could control people using hypnosis through her eyes and touch.” He nodded.
It was one of the things he had asked professor He to look into.
“Well, it was because she had a system.
Systems are like….” She hesitated, unsure about how to explain what a system was accurately.
“Like a computer from another world that attaches itself to someone.
That person is known as the host after activation of the system.
The system gives you a mission and after the mission, you get a reward.
It has levels from one to…..mmm…unknown.
The more you level up, the stronger you and your system become.” “Like a game.” he stated.
Alix nodded and she started looking around for her phone which was in her bag but it wasn’t in the study with them at the moment.
“May i have your phone?” He handed it to her and she went online, searching for the most famous system novels she had ever read.
“Here, this novel is called Becoming an emperor in a cultivation world with my world domination system.
It’s about this young man that died on earth and he ended up in another world, a cultivation world.
He found himself in the body of a fifteen year old boy that had no cultivation talent and just when he thought his situation was hopeless in this world where the strong step on the weak, he activated a world domination system and…” Caishen put a hand over her mouth and then he pinched her lips closed.
“Mmmm.” she mumbled.
“I can read this on my own time.
I am more interested in you and the contract.
So, i think i have understood the basics of what a system is and you having this contract means that you have one, right?” She nodded.
He took a deep breath and tried to appear as calm as possible.
The truth was that he was freaking out, had been since he started reading the contract.
He just didn’t panic like Alix on the outside to give himself away.
Suddenly, everything had started making sense to him.
The cats, the bag with endless storage, the boxes in which Rui Ka Kui’s thugs were sealed.
The cure for her fingers and his legs which the worlds top experts had declared hopeless.
He couldn’t forget about the gold and jade which was always laying around in their bedroom or house without an explanation.
The beautiful gold fish in the fishing tank and the chicken which didn’t eat normal chicken feed but ate meat, fruits and other human foods.
His eyes widened when he thought about the fires.
Now he knew for sure that it was her setting those fires.
“I think it will be better if i show you.” She didn’t give him a moment to prepare and just as he had done in the bookshop, she morphed into a dragon, right there on his lap.
