The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system -
Chapter 443 - 443 In her head
443: In her head.
443: In her head.
When he got home later that night after meeting up with his friends, Caishen found his wife standing outside on the balcony, outside their living room.
She was as still as a statue, staring out at either the gardens in the courts or the golf course.
He couldn’t tell from where he was.
He got up from his wheelchair and walked towards her slowly.
His legs could support him for an hour at least now, whether it was was walking, standing or some light jogging.
The doctor had given a ninety percent bill of recovery.
A few more weeks and he would be given a full bill of health.
He was like a little kid however, smiling endlessly everytime he walked on his legs before looking around excitedly to see if others were also excited to see him walking.
When he reached Alix, he wrapped his arms around her waist and leaned against her back lightly.
In this position, as always, the first thing he did was sniff her neck or her hair and then take a deep breath.
A little addition to his new routine which caused Alix to frown often was the hand on her stomach.
Like routine, he did it immediately.
“My lovely sister hulk, it’s cold outside, you should be indoors.
What has got all of your attention?” She wasn’t even wearing a jacket, scarf, gloves or anything to protect herself from the cold weather.
Something really major had to be on her mind, he figured.
Alix twisted slowly, turned around and hugged him from the front, chest to chest.
“Boyfriend, welcome back.” Caishen accidentally let out a snort which surprised them both, her especially.
“Tsk, tsk, did the almighty Zhang Caishen just snort?” He looked away from her and responded with denial.
“I have no idea what you are talking about.” “Uh-huh.” she laughed.
“Come on, let’s go in.
I have something to show you.” She had thought about this long and hard, bringing him into the world of system hosts and no matter how much she thought, the resolve to do so did not change.
Someone in her life needed to know about it, someone that could protect their family and loved ones in case those from the dark side came calling and the bureau failed to protect the family.
Her being a system host had brought some danger to their doorstep and it was only right that he at least know about the situation.
Moreover, the prosecutor general did not raise any issues when she mentioned bringing Caishen into the fold.
In fact, he encouraged her to do so.
She didn’t take him to the bedroom like he thought but instead took him to his study.
The documents from the bureau of systems were already waiting on his table.
Both of sat down, him in his chair behind his desk and her in the one across from him.
It reminded her very much of the day they met, on the night of their wedding.
She was reminded of the words of her mother-in-law Yura about hard decisions having to be made and she took a deep breath.
“I guess it’s my turn to offer you the chance to escape our marriage.” He didn’t touch the papers but instead looked at her for an immeasurable period of time, saying nothing in return.
His eyes however had quickly reverted to their old state of neutrality.
She hated it, that look which lacked the warmth she had come to love, so she looked away and looked at the ground.
“I don’t want to divorce, i just don’t know if you will stay with me after finding out that i am not the woman you think i am.
There are things i didn’t tell you about Lai Yanfang, things that she had in common with me.” She raised her head and looked at him.
“I will understand if you want to…..” “Stop talking.” he said with force.
He didn’t shout but he didn’t whisper either.
“That word, don’t ever say it again.” He picked up the papers roughly, clenching them a little too tightly as if they were the ones that had angered him.
She waited for him to finish reading in silence while playing around with her fingers.
The anxiety she was feeling was enormous, much more than the emotions she experienced on the day of their wedding.
She also couldn’t help stealing glances at him, trying to capture his face and memorize every little piece of it.
This could be the last time she was so close to him like this for all she knew.
Maybe i should have kissed him just once before giving him those papers.
If he did take her up on that divorce idea, she would never get to kiss him again.
She would never hug him and she would never hear him call her sister hulk.
And Xiaobo…..her mind snapped and sudden grief started to creep up on her.
Would she even get the chance to say farewell to him?
Would he cry a lot because he missed her?
She had been happy to learn about how ruthless he had been when cutting Yanfang off but now, she worried if the same ruthlessness would be applied to her.
Would he forbid her name from ever being mentioned by the other Zhangs?
Her brothers and nanny Luo would also have questions because they would have to leave this house and move somewhere else.
Perhaps she would move in with her parents or grandparents for a while.
If she had to live alone immediately after separating, she was afraid that she would break down.
“Control your mind.” The blue elf told her.
“I am trying.” she responded.
She was trying, truly but she was failing and she was starting to hyperventilate.
That familiar feeling of light headedness set upon her.
“I can’t breathe.” she whispered.
“It’s all in your head, you are breathing.” The blue elf yelled.
Alix was sure that she was going to faint as her vision became blurry and she felt herself slipping into darkness.
The blue elf was pacing back and forth across the virtual screen, feeling hopeless.
It couldn’t come out of the virtual world to help by giving her a shot.
“I thought that professor was making progress.” it muttered.
Just before Alix could actually faint, Caishen’s arms were wrapped around her.
He had heard her whisper just as he was moving on to the second page of the contract.
Immediately, he abandoned the contract when he noticed that something was wrong with her.
He was aware that she used to have panic attacks in the past and she had one on the day of the earthquake in the hospital.
He had been so immersed in his own anger at her use of the word divorce that he had not noticed her spinning because she was panicking.
He run his hand over her back slowly, encouraging her to breath in and out slowly.
“I have got you.” he said slowly.
“Do you hear me, i have got you so whatever it is, i am staying.
Don’t be frightened, don’t panic, get out of your head and come back to me.”
