The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system -
Chapter 421 - 421 The unbothered violinist
421: The unbothered violinist.
421: The unbothered violinist.
All heads were cut off and all the cores were collected.
Alix was very disappointed because they were all rank one cores.
“You don’t look happy.” The system told her.
She put the cores down and murmured roughly, “I worked hard to get burned just to end up with rank one cores.” She was very unwilling to continue if things were to stay the same.
Just the memory of the burn alone was enough to cause her heart to race incredibly fast and her body to tremble in fear.
“It’s day one, hour one, you are impatient.
If a rank one energy monster did this to you then imagine what rank six or higher can do.
Let me study this world a little longer and then we can proceed.” The monsters disappeared and in their place, little steel boxes were left behind.
There appearance caused her mood to bounce right back up again.
Hopefully, she had received some good compensation in exchange for that burn.
“Yippee, loot.” She started opening the boxes immediately.
[Night vision booster…
*1] [Energy heat absorber…*2] [Super speed space ship..*1] [Night vision booster…*1] [Sunlight gun…*1] She looked at the items she had received with a deep frown between her eyebrows.
The night vision booster was a drink and one sip could enable the drinker to see even in the deepest and darkest corners like the rift.
The energy heat absorber was a simple cloth, light and transparent.
It could absorb the heat of the flame like the one she had been hit with.
The super speed space ship was self explanatory and the sunlight gun too.
It was a gun that could practically turn the night into day for twenty four hours once fired.
“A gun that provides sunlight in a world where players are killed if they light anything up.
I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad one.” “If the game has provided it then it must be for a good reason.” The system replied.
She looked at the golden gun and traced her fingers over it’s wide mouth.
It’s design was similar to the freezing gun so she assumed their designer was the same.
“How does one trap the sun in here?” she whispered.
The system elf rolled it’s eyes.
“It’s not the actual sun you know, it’s just….” “I know.” She rolled her eyes too, she was not an idiot.
“Congratulations, your fans feel sorry for you.
The clip of you wiping away tears after being burned has gone viral on the virtual network.
You are receiving thousands of medical supplies, fire proof clothing and items, sweets and well wishes.
At this rate, you will have enough stock for your mall for the next five years.” “I am so thankful.” She rubbed her nose through the response.
Then, she went to the communication icon in the game and sent a message to Dark death.
Alix: [I have a night vision booster and two freezing guns for sale.
How much are you willing to pay me for those items?
Also, some helpful advice, don’t run away from the light.
Bite the bullet and kill what you can because the darkness is here to stay.
I am up for some teamwork on this world if you are.
Side note: If you haven’t died as a result of the energy flames, watch out for them because they hurt like a bitch.] The system elf was peeking at her text, reading every word loudly as she wrote it out.
“Like a bitch and not a fruit?” It raised an eyebrows, just the left one and looked at her.
She logged out of the game.
“Nope, definitely not a fruit.” Fruits were mostly sweet and there had been nothing sweet about the pain from those burns.
She yawned and looked at the time.
It was coming to midnight, only ten minutes were left until the new day arrived.
The two people in the bed with her were fast asleep, with Xiaobo’s body curled by her side.
It was time for her to join them in the wonderful world of slumber.
Alix closed the laptop and put it away.
******** The next day, everyone from the Tai family and some people from the Zhang family, along with Alix’s friends, all met at the concert hall where the finals for the violin competition were being held.
Alix had gone ahead of the others because all competitors had to arrive first in order to be briefed and make the necessary preparations.
In addition to preparations, they were all required to be interviewed because the competition was to be shown on television that night.
Auntie Mo, grandpa Tai and grandma Zhang, on their arrival went directly in search of Alix.
When they found her, she was sitting in one of the chairs in the corner of the rehearsal room, fast asleep.
All three people were filled with doubt first, unsure if she was truly asleep or simply listening to music through the large headphones on her head.
Auntie Mo leaned closer and observed keenly.
Alix’s breath was slow and the headphones on her head had a picture of a loud speaker and a large red x mark running through it.
“These are noise canceling headphones.” Auntie Mo shared with the other two as she raised herself back up.
” She is sleeping.” If that wasn’t enough to prove the obvious activity Alix was doing, the medium sized blanket covering her legs and the orange cat which was snoring while sleeping on her laps was another indicator of what she was doing.
“Isn’t she supposed to be preparing or doing something?” Grandma Zhang whispered?
Other competitors were wide awake and actively practicing, stretching, reading their sheet music.
One was even praying, reciting Buddhist sutras a little too loudly.
Everyone was doing something to calm their nerves except for Alix who seemed to be quite unbothered as she was fast asleep.
The door to the room opened and a competitor was called out.
It was the young man that had been reciting sutras.
He hugged a woman that had been nervously pacing close by, picked up a violin and stepped out.
The door closed and silence filled the room.
Most of the competitors found places to sit while one, a young teenage girl run out with a hand over her mouth.
It was plain to see that she was on the way to throw up because she was extremely nervous.
Alix still didn’t show any indication of waking up despite all this.
Three worried people looked down at her.
If she was sleeping this much, wouldn’t she miss the competition entirely?
“I should wake her up.” Auntie Mo.
Uncertain, she looked at the two people that had come with her and she phrased her words in a question.
“It’s the right thing to wake her up, right?” Loudly, grandpa Tai answered, “Of course it is.
The competition has started and she needs both eyes and ears open.
She can sleep after winning.”
