The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system
Chapter 359 - 359 Politics comes home

359: Politics comes home.

359: Politics comes home.

Upon returning from her failed mission to get some money out of the professor, the first thing Alix did when she got home was carry the box with two orchids to the living room.

Her mind was all jumbled, filled up with random thoughts that she didn’t hear the voices of strangers in their house.

She only noticed them when she saw them with her very own eyes.

The first people she noticed when she came to a stop were the four men dressed in soldier’s uniforms.

The second person she noticed was the cardiologist doctor Ming.

She frowned deeply and her eyes continued on until she was met with the sight of the prosecutor general of the country.

The box of orchids fell out of her hands due to the shock.

What was a big shot like this doing in their house?

“Frickity fruit.” she whispered.

She briefly perused over grandpa Zhang, Bo, Yating and then found Caishen.

Her eyes pierced his with the burning question about what the prosecutor general was doing in their home.

Caishen had once told her that the Zhang family didn’t get involved in politics.

If that was the case indeed then what was politics doing in their home?

“Dear, why don’t you join us?

The guest is here for you.” Grandpa Zhang told her.

“Oh-oooh.” she responded, confused completely.

“Me?”  Her eyes widened a little as she expressed her surprise.

It was almost as if she expected another Alix to pop out of thin air and meet the prosecutor general.

Grandpa Zhang nodded.

Reluctantly, Alix dragged her feet over but she walked all the way to the furthest chair closest to Caishen and then sat down.

After sitting, she had a moment of panic and stood up.

How could she sit down casually without greeting the big shot?

He was one of top ten most important figures in the country.

“Hello prosecutor general.” She greeted loudly and lowered her body, bending so much that she could easily fall over with just one shove.

Her voice was loud like that of a child in kindergarten responding to the morning greetings of a teacher enthusiastically.

In response to her greeting, the prosecutor general laughed boisterously, deeply amused at her overreaction.

His laughter prompted other people in the living room to laugh as well.

When the president laughed, the staff had to laugh as well and they had to stop when he did so as not to appear rude.

“She is very energetic your young daughter-in-law, old Zhang.” he said.

Alix raised her body up suddenly and she looked at grandpa Zhang.

“Old Zhang.” she whispered.

She sensed a familiarity in the way it was said.

It seemed like Grandpa Zhang was on familiar terms with the prosecutor general.

But, the prosecutor general was younger that grandpa so how could he be calling him old Zhang?

“She is a good egg, my grandson chose well.” Grandpa Zhang responded proudly.

He also laughed, albeit softy compared to the way the the prosecutor general had done.

“Egg.” Alix whispered.

She seemed to be repeating everything that was being said.

“So, you are Lin Alix.” The prosecutor general said.

“No, she is Tai Alix.” Grandpa Zhang said.

“Do not lump my granddaughter in with that family.”  The prosecutor general nodded.

“Aah, are they bad eggs?”  Grandpa Zhang nodded.

“The type to sell the nation out in a heartbeat as long a sit benefits them.”  The prosecutor general frowned, heavily showing his disapproval.

Those were the people he hated the most, the treasonous kind.

Alix was still not sure about what was going on here.

She had not seen any of the nannies or her brothers.

And they had a guest but no tea had ben served.

Wouldn’t this give a bad impression of them to the prosecutor general?

“I should go and prepare some tea.” she said in a small voice.

“That will not be necessary, someone is already on it.” Caishen told her.

“Dear, the prosecutor general came to thank you for doing something great.”  “Me?” she pointed to herself.

“By saving the life of your second grandfather you saved the life of…..” The prosecutor general smiled and stopped.

“You saved the life of one of the most important people in the country.

I will also be direct with you right now.

This illness, it’s the sixteenth case in the country that we have found so far.

You have been the first person to provide a lead and a cure.

I will be shameless and request for more of your antidote if you still have it.

We would like to be better prepared next time disaster like this strikes.”  “Of course, i will be happy to help.” Alix responded.

In her mind, the system which was dissatisfied with her soft attitude shouted loudly, “Are you crazy?

Now is the time to demand for payment.

We couldn’t sell the orchids but we can sell the antidote.”  “Poison you mean.” she responded.

It was the first thing she needed to be upfront about.

Zhang An came out of the kitchen with the two nannies and two more soldiers dressed in plain black uniforms.

They served tea to everyone except Alix and then left.

The prosecutor general picked up his cup and took a small sip.

He set the cup down and said appreciatively, “God tea.”  “Thank you.” Grandpa Zhang responded proudly.

Caishen and Bo stared at each and smiled secretly.

Their grandfather was taking credit so freely for something that was not his.

Caishen even rolled his eyes because it was ridiculous.

“My granddaughter-in-law has the best tea spices and powdered milk in the world.

I am not boasting but speaking the truth.”  The brothers had been too quick to assume that grandpa Zhang planned to take credit for the good tea.

“Spice, not leaves?” The prosecutor general asked.

They all shook their heads, Alix inclusive.

She didn’t even which teas produced the spice or what the ingredients were.

She had simply received too many gifts from fans and tea spices were among.

Someone had even sent her tea cups, a whole set of them.

They adjusted color according to the temperature of the liquid inside.

They were still in the closet as were most of the other gifts that she had received.

“Most tea spices tend to have an overwhelming smell but this is mild and not irritating.

It’s really good tea.”  Everyone sipped their tea, moving their hands at the same time.

Only Alix remained still, impatiently waiting for this visit to end.

“Giving them tea was a mistake because now they will all be here longer.” The system told her.

Meanwhile, it flashed different figures, showing her how much she could charge for the antidote.

She didn’t know if it was greed or insanity but all were nine figure digits.

“Are you crazy?” she muttered.

“Mmm.” Caishen responded.

He slipped a hand in hers and looked at her curiously.

He was certain that she had said something about someone being crazy.

She shook her head and smiled broadly.

A question asked by doctor Ming made them both look away from each other.

“So, how did you know that it was poison?”
