Chapter 353 - 353 What triggered the heart attack

353: What triggered the heart attack?

353: What triggered the heart attack?

“If i can’t go with you then you have to go with your bodyguards and they must be with you at all times.” He insisted He was very wary with everything that was going on.

First it was his accident, then his father’s return.

The leaking of the news about the divorce and now the second elder’s poisoning.

He had not even forgotten about that time when she abandoned her shopping because something spooked her.

It was beginning to feel more and more like they were sitting ducks and someone was targeting them.

His biggest suspect was Lai Yanfang but he couldn’t be sure because he couldn’t see her motives.

If it was truly her, what was her end game?

Was she operating alone?

Why did she loathe the Zhang family to such an extent?

Alix twisted her mouth around unhappily.

There were days when she wanted to move around freely without Bi Cang and the others hovering over her.

This was one of those days because she wanted to move quickly and act without restraint.

“Hubby, I will be fine on my own and besides, they won’t be allowed into that lab or anywhere close to it.”  She leaned down and kissed him on the cheek.

“I will see you later.” Then she took off running at full speed and went through the emergency exit doors.

“Has she forgotten that i know where she is going?” he asked himself.

He turned to the confused bodyguards and tilted his head in the direction she had gone.

“Follow her and be careful so that she doesn’t notice.

Protect my wife at all costs.

If so much as a hair on her head is damaged you will all suffer for it.” Bi Cang did not even waste a moment to respond an he took off running.

Alix had gone with Majesty inside her jacket so even if they couldn’t track her, they could track the cat.

They had an entire surveillance team whose job it was to monitor the movements of the different family members.

Caishen returned to the hospital room and found that the second elder was already being attached to all sorts of medical equipment.

An oxygen mask was covering his face, an iv had been attached to his hand and his heart had a small monitoring device.

Two doctors were scribbling notes furiously and a third was checking the second elders eyes.

His wife was sobbing sadly while everyone watched on with either relief or just sadness.

Zhang Changpu was the only one vibrating with all this energy which was desperate to explode out of him.

A nurse came into the room and she started doing the exact thing Alix had done earlier, taking blood samples.

Zhang Changpu slapped the nurse’s hand away and the syringe she was holding fell on the ground.

“Ooh, so now you want to do your jobs and take blood samples.

What the hell were you doing when you declared my father dead?” he barked.

“Changpu, calm down.” Zhang Guoha told him.

“The doctors must do their job.”  “The doctors are incompetent.

If nephew’s wife had not detected the faint heartbeat of my father and taken measures to save him we would be putting my helpless father in a coffin right about now.” The second elder’s wife wailed even louder at Changpu’s words.

Zhang Bo sneered secretly on the side and tried hard to stop himself from berating Changpu as well.

Wasn’t he one of the people making the biggest fuss when Alix was trying to save the second elders life?

Why then was he accusing the doctor of incompetence?

If he was so competent then he should have been the one to discover the truth before others.

Besides, what was terrorizing one little nurse that was simply trying to do her job going to accomplish?

Changpu was still not finished berating the doctors.

“Do you know what you almost made us do you idiots?

We almost became murderers, all of us.

Do you even know that he was still conscious in there?

He would have been burned alive in pain…..” “Changpu!” Grandpa Zhang called him fiercely.

There was an unsaid command in his voice, telling Changpu to shut up.

They all heard a thud and turned their eyes in it’s direction.

The second elders wife had collapsed and she was laying unconscious on the floor.

“Mother…” Zhang Changpu shouted in a frightened voice.

A few people gasped, those that were sniveling paused while others hurried to help her.

“Carry her to another bed and call the doctors.” Grandpa Zhang orders the children and grandchildren in the room.

Hurriedly, with the assistance of one of the doctors, they rushed to attend to her.

Since she was taken to the next room and some people followed, the number of those in the room reduced.

With Changpu gone, it was much more calm and the head doctor, the top cardiologist in the hospital finally spoke up.

They had asked for him specifically because Alix had aimed for the heart and a heart attack had been named as the cause of his illness.

The cardiologist, doctor Ming looked at Zhang Sensen’s chest at the place with a little hole, indicating that it had been pierced.

He touched it and traced his right hand over it.

So far, he had not examined the body of the second elder so he took this chance to do so.

As his hands trailed over the chest, he noticed a purple mark that looked like a thread but it was dark on one end and fading as it continued along.

It was right below the left nipple.

going all the way to the heart.

It was so vivid, almost like a tattoo on the skin.

“Has he always had this?” he asked.

Grandpa Zhang looked at it and he shook his head.

Zhang Guoha did the same and he shook his head as well.

“What does it mean?” Zhang Guoha asked worriedly.

Doctor Ming shook his head.

“Are you sure that Mr.

Zhang Sensen did not have any heart condition?” he asked them.

While waiting for their answers, he lowered his head and listened to the heartbeat with his own ears.

He still couldn’t believe that someone had caught a faint murmur with just a human ear.

Even the machines had been certain that this heart had stopped beating so how in the world had a human done the impossible?

“He was fine and as healthy as a horse.” Zhang Yating answered.

“So what triggered a heart attack?” doctor Ming mumbled.

Only two people in the room were aware of what had truly caused the condition of Zhang Sensen and it was because Alix had shared it with them.

They had no plans to speak up right now especially without proof.

He raised himself and told them, “His pulse is still weak but it’s climbing back up steadily.

Unfortunately, i cannot give you answers right now because i really have no idea what to make of his condition.

It’s not something…..”  The doctor broke off and put a finger on his mouth.

“No, i have seen this before, i think.” he muttered.

Doctor Ming had the gift of recalling every heart he had seen, operated on and every chest he examined.

The weird purple tattoo was familiar to his eyes now that he thought about it.

“Excuse me.” he said.

He raced out of the room quickly, excitedly and partially frightened.

If what was happening was the same thing, then they had declared a very important political figure in a similar condition dead two days ago.

If it wasn’t too late, they needed to save him before all of them were detained for incompetence or negligible homicide in some way.
