Chapter 471: The bite

I stand up from the grass as he walks up to me with a smile on his face.

"Where have you been? It almost seems like you are avoiding me." He stops in front of me as I grab my bags and book from the floor. My hands are shaking because I am terrified that he is going to hurt me again.

I don’t want to be alone with him.

Then tell Darrien

My wolf scolds me, even though I already know that this is something I need to tell my mate. Darrien will not like the fact that I have been suspicious all night and didn’t mention anything. It is not that I didn’t want to tell him anything but I didn’t know what to tell him.

"I wasn’t avoiding you. I just want to be alone today.’’

He raises a brow as he stops in front of me. His eyes bore into mine and the more I see him, the scarier he seems. How come I didn’t see this before? How did I think that I could be friends with him just because he is a vampire? Now that I think about it all, everything from the day we met is suspicious.

How did I run out of blood so fast?

Is he the one that emptied out my flask?

Has he been watching me?

"You look scared, why are you shaking?’’ He raises his hand but I turn away from him before he can rest it on my cheek.

"Did I do something?’’ he asks calmly.

He wants me to trust him. This is all an act and I can see it now. How was I so blind before?

"What happened yesterday? Something happened and I can’t remember. What did you do to me?"

"I didn’t do anything to you, why do you say that?’’

He asks as he leans forward and pushes his shoulder into mine. I am not prepared for what is happening. Maybe confronting him was not a good idea. I should have spoken to Dar first about everything that is bothering me.

"What do you think I did to you?’’ he asks even moving closer to me. At this point, my face is so close to his that I want to just run away from this situation.

"He is getting to you,’’ he shakes his head and his eyes flicker. If I didn’t know better, I would believe him right now.

"Who?’’

He shrugs "Darrien. He has convinced you that I am a bad guy. Hasn’t he?’’

I shake my head immediately "This has nothing to do with him. I know something happened last night and you did something to me, to make me forget.’’ I glare at him angrily because I hate this gap in my memory.

He raises his hand up again and this time, he brushes his fingers against the mark that Darrien gave me during our mating ceremony.

"How did you taste when he had you?’ he asks with this dreamy expression plastered on his face.

"How did you taste when he had you?’’ He asks again as he leans forward and puts his hand on my neck. I am shaking just from the idea of him touching me. I don’t know what he is doing but I don’t want him to. His eyes are black, he can read my every thought. I can’t stand it anymore.

"S-stop it!" I fling my hands up. He smiles and nothing looks as it should. I don’t like how he is looking at me. I need to get away from him, but somehow it feel as if I am rooted to the spot. He turns me towards him and puts his hand on my neck.

"I don’t want to be anywhere near you,’’ I say, hoping he will get the message and leave me alone.

This is a mistake, one that I wish I hadn’t pushed for.

"Let me have a taste, just one taste,’’ he smiles as he leans forwards, his lips against my neck. His touch makes my skin crawl, I have never been this irritated in my life. He is touching me and I feel sick to my stomach.

Darrien, help me. I need you now.

I send Darrien a mind link. I need him to come, I can’t push him away. It feels like I am stuck on the ground. His breath is hot against my skin, his tongue slides over my neck. I want to push him away but I can’t move. I feel the warmth of his lips as he sucks on my neck. A familiar feeling starts to grow inside me. A feeling of dread, fear. I am not in control of what is happening and I can’t stop it.

WHAT IS GOING ON?

Darrien’s voice swarms my ear as I hear him send a mind link. Lenny is so focused on his pleasure as I feel his teeth graze along my neck. My heart beats fast and I see black dots swimming in my vision. A feeling of dizziness hits me and I start to feel sick. I feel as if I am going to puke.

Lenny. He is hurting me.

I manage a couple of words in despair as his teeth pierce into my skin. I am going to die. He is killing me.

Darrien’s voice says something to me but I can’t focus. It is all a blur. I feel like I am going to die. I hate his touch, he is hurting me and it feels like there is nothing I can do.

I close my eyes because I don’t even want to see this. I don’t want to feel anything right now. He is taking a part of me that only belongs to my mate and it is all my fault.

I caused this pain I am feeling right now.

No one but me.

I am naive, I am stupid. I didn’t listen and this has happened. I don’t know what this is but I want out of it. I want him to let go of me. In a split second, my knees buckle and I fall to the ground as he wraps his arms around me.

Suddenly everything blacks out.
