"What the fuck is this Gyles?’’ I ask him, completely confused with this situation. I came to his room to try and convince him to come back to the guest quarters because I didn’t want him alone and this is what I find.

He drops the book and it falls to the ground with a loud thud.

"I don’t know how this got here, I swear,’’ he is shaking uncontrollably right here. His face is white, almost like he just saw a ghost. I’ve seen him scared before but never like this.

I walk over to him and grab his hands in mine. I want to be upset because there is a part of me that is wary of this situation. He was so adamant about staying alone tonight.

Was this the reason?

"Why is this here, how did it get here?’’

Tears start to fall from his face as I try to soften his trembles. He looks genuinely terrified right now.

"She came here, she said she needed my help. I don’t know why this is happening to me." I reach for his face and wipe the tears from falling. We stand there for a moment, both of us trying to let our bodies come down from the adrenaline.

He pulls me into him, his body still shaking. I hold him there, trying to be strong for him. I don’t know what’s happening but I want to be there for him.

This situation is crazy.

I thought leaving the coven will make things easier. I thought all the problems we faced there would end in that god-forsaken place but the fact that it keeps following him is making this a lot harder for me to grasp.

"Who came to you?’’ I ask him after a couple of silent seconds.

he looks up at me, his eyes are red, his skin is pale. His hands are still trembling against my touch.

"The voices in my head. The ones from the book,’’ he tells me. I don’t want to go outright and think that this is all in his head because I’ve seen things that are hard to explain. I don’t know how I would explain this to anyone. it doesn’t make any sense.

"What did she want?’’

"I don’t know. she didn’t say it. You came into the room and she disappeared.’’

I frown "So I interrupted whatever was going on?’’

"I don’t want this, I never asked for any of this," he says, slightly angry.

I pull him into a hug and he grips me tighter than ever.

"Just breathe, she’s gone now. You’re with me, nothing will happen to you now.’’

I try to assure him that everything is going to be okay but I don’t even know anymore.

Dad is supposed to get someone that could help us. Maybe it is a good thing that the book is here with us. we can use it to find out what the hell is going on.

"I don’t want you here alone, come on, let’s go back to the house. we will figure this out.’’

He pulls away from me and the fear in his eyes grip me with all the strength left in me. I hate this.

I want this to end.

We get to the house and Jules is in the living room watching some football game on the tv. He looks up at me and manages a smile "Look who decided to stay with us,’’ he says with a welcoming expression on his face.

I nod because I just want to get Gyles to bed, I need him to get some rest. He has cried enough for one day.

"We are just going to bed,’’ I tell him, slowly shifting my eyes to Gyles. His expression is still solemn, he still looks freaked out.

I wish I could make him feel better but I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to make this right.

we walk into the room just ask Rex walks out of the bathroom in just a towel. He smiles widely and runs into Gyles’s arms, probably happy that he is here with us.

"You are here,’’ he mutters still in his arms. I watch the scene in front of me. Gyles raises his arms up until they are around Rex. His body seems to relax a little more. It’s like he needs this right now.

I watch them as they embrace.

this is giving me nothing but joy.

Today was a wake-up call. Beau and Alanis’s wedding made me want what they have. I need to get our relationship in check because I need us to be one. I need nothing but their love.

Once they pull apart, I cough out nervously "You are going to stay by my side until this is all sorted out." I direct to Gyles.

He nods his head immediately; I know he doesn’t even want otherwise. today really scared him and I don’t want him to feel that way again. I want to be his protector. I want to take care of him and I can’t do that if he is away from me.

"What happened?’’ Rex asks confused.

I relay what happened earlier because there are no secrets between us.

I am taking this transparency to the heart. I don’t want to keep anything from them.

I know he must know what is happening. there is only one thing right now that would leave me and Gyles so panicked.

"The voices?’’ he answers his own question.

"There was someone in his room,’’ I tell him. Gyles is very quiet, maybe he is still trying to process everything and I don’t blame him. this is a lot. I don’t know if I actually believe that there was actually someone in his room.

I just want to believe him right now.

"We need to do something, what did they say?’’ he turns his attention to Gyles, who covers his face with his hands. "You have to talk to us. We need to know what this means."

"I don’t think she is evil. I don’t think the book is evil anymore." he takes a deep breath "Fuck, I don’t know anymore.’’ he uncovers his face.

I don’t know either.
