Chapter 85: Share a tub
Chapter 85: Share a tub
Abrielle drew in a sharp breath and quickly got up from the stool. This was a battle she was going to win.
"Thank you but I think I can handle myself." She replied. Cedric got on his feet and then walked towards the tub area. He pulled off his shirt, and her eyes stared at his back. It was the first time she was having a good look under sane conditions.
Cedric folded his shirt and then kept it on a nearby table. All this while, all Abrielle could do was stare at him, forgetting about the fact she was meant to undress.
She just couldn’t look away as her eyes were on his back, which was covered with tattoos. They were strange designs but still beautiful, drawn in detail. The tattoo only covered his back while the front was completely clean.
Cedric’s hand reached out for his trousers, then stopped. "Are you going to stare all night or get ready for your bath? I don’t like people staring at me." He stated, his voice was a bit cold and took her unaware. It was like he just flipped over. His teasing self had completely disappeared.
Abrielle quickly averted her head to face the mirror. While her gaze was gone, Cedric got rid of his trousers and then wrapped up his hair before stepping into the tub. The warm water was soothing on his body.
He sat back leaning to the edge with his eyes closed. He had so many thoughts running through his head at the moment. Unspoken thoughts he dare not voice out
The fireplace continued to crackle as the wood burned slowly. By the time Abrielle was done undressing, some minutes had gone by. She glanced towards the tub and was surprised to see Cedric in there.
He looked like he was asleep; his eyes were closed, and the dim candlelights alighted his features, which seemed more gentle when he was asleep.
Abrielle bit inside cheeks, nervous at the thought that she was going to share a bath with him. It was the first time she would have to get completely bare in front of him while in her sane mind.
The time in the tunnels didn’t count because she wasn’t sane that day, that’s the excuse she told herself whenever she remembered how she gave into her carnal desires.
"Cedric," she called out softly but there was no answer. It seemed like he was truly asleep. Her hands were crossed in her front as she carefully walked up the tub. She needed this bath since her muscles were aching. All she had to do was to ignore his existence.
Reaching the tub, she used her toes to check the temperature; luckily, the water was still perfectly warm for her. A long breath left her lips as entered the tub at the opposite side. The water dipped as her entire body sank into the warm water.
She could not immerse herself completely but remained crouched at a point to avoid touching Cedric. That was a difficult task because he was rather large and was taking up all the space in the tub.
The water smelled like lavender with a subtle hint of roses in it. Super relaxing after a long day. Cedric’s eyes were still closed. This made it more comfortable for her to have her bath beside his strong presence.
Abrielle reached out for the washcloth and started to clean up her body. Hazel wasn’t raised a princess, so her actions are not tender and soft like the maids and pretty harsh like she wanted to peel off her skin.
"If you scrub that hard you might end up bruising yourself. You really can’t do anything for yourself." She heard a deep Baritone voice, making her jerk, making the wash towel into the water.
She was surprised to find Cedric’s gold eyes staring back at her. His hand was on the edge of the tub which supported his tilted head. "Dear goddess, please don’t scare me like that. I thought you were asleep." She gasped trying to catch her breath.
"Even if I was asleep, with how loud you were, I would be woken up." He replied with his gaze on her. It was uncomfortable to be under his gaze and she didn’t dare complain about it.
Abrielle averted her eyes away, unable to stare at him for too long before she shamelessly fell for his face alone. Cedric saw her actions but didn’t comment about it.
"Are you not going to finish washing up?" He asked her, urging her to pick up the washcloth that fell in the water. Abrielle was forced to look inside the water; luckily, the water was soapy with a lathe surface, so she didn’t see anything that she wanted to avoid.
She dipped her hand into the water with the washcloth cloth. "Where is it?" She mumbled, unable to find it anywhere close to her.
Stretching further towards Cedric’s side, she seemed to have found it; she reached out to grab the towel but jolted backwards when she realized which part of his body it was on. She had held him down there and it was huge.
She bit her lips, completely embarrassed by her actions. She was acting completely silly around him. She heard Cedric draw in a harsh breath, and then he stood up from the tub and rinsed himself
Her eyes subconsciously followed his every action, then trailed down there to look at what she had accidentally grabbed, and her face went red. She nervously swallowed through her throat, which was now patched.
How were they able to make it work that day? Her thoughts trailed watching him dry himself with a towel that was set out for them.
Remembering what he said about stares she forced herself to look away. Then, I grabbed the washcloth in the tub to continue washing but tried to be a bit gentle.
Cedric completely ignored her and then got ready for bed, but he didn’t sleep on the bed. Instead, he sat on a soft chair to sip wine.
