Chapter 44: There is no escape from death
At this point, Abrielle thought the pre-sequel of her book should be changed from the journey of the villainess to death being the only fate for the villainess because why was it that at every corner, something wanted to kill her?
Now she understood why the mission was to find the spy and survive with a possible penalty being death. The so-called spy was one of her attendants who had an obvious animosity and Targeted her to kill her.
There was no way for Abrielle to avoid the strong wind blade that was coming towards her. Cedric’s eyes immediately shot in her direction; Sarah, who was in his grip, screamed as she exploded into a bloody pulp as soon as she sent that attack towards Abrielle.
"Bloody hell," Cedric cussed with his eyes turned black as the abyss, and a strong urge to save Abrielle shot through his veins that he could not refuse like he was compelled to dash there.
Abrielle’s past flashed through her eyes from her two lives as Hazel and the villainous princess which was not long. The force was fast and had destroyed everything in its path.
She pressed her eyes close together as running was futile; maybe embracing death would be better than living on the edge with a psycho every day.
Unknown to her, before the force could hit her, a black veil enveloped her, but it wasn’t enough to completely nullify the force of the wind attack, which Sarah had sacrificed her life to throw at Abrielle.
The force hit her, sending her flying backwards, but before she could hit her back against any obstacles, Cedric appeared behind her to cushion the effect of the backlash and absorb the remaining energy.
Abrielle had no idea of this as she was already knocked out by the initial force. She didn’t see the storm in Cedric’s eyes that had turned pitch black and dark like a bottomless abyss.

The howling sounds of the wind echoed as little snowflakes fell from the sky.
Abrielle’s brows for as she Heard an incoherent conversation.
"She should be kept out of harm. Luckily, there was no major damage done this time around, but the princess was born with a weak constitution unable to be compatible with magic of any form, not meant to withstand an attack from a witch." She heard a female voice say.
Abrielle’s brows furrowed, hearing the woman’s voice. Was she the healer that was sent to help her out? She struggled to open her eyes but everything was blurry. She could barely see two figures: a tall, majestic figure and a smaller one with the frame of a woman.
"How long will it take for her to wake up?" Cedric asked, and surprisingly, his voice seemed concerned, puzzling her. Why was he disturbed about her well-being?
"any moment from now. I have already removed the dark magic that was circling in her body." That was the last thing Abrielle heard before she was drawn into a deep slumber.

Her eyes opened again, and there was this difficult headache she had in her head.
Hazel’s eyes darted around the room she immediately recognized as her apartment. She sat up on the bed and the first question that left her lips was. "What am I doing here?"
That was a strange question because where else was she meant to be if not in her apartment? Why does it feel like she was forgetting something?
The honking sound of a power bike caught her attention and she slowly got off the bed to glance through the window.
Close to the road, she saw a familiar handsome boy with thick strawberry blonde hair and beautiful emerald eyes looking in the direction of her bedroom. "Lucian?" She muttered confused about why he was here.
Lucian was standing outside the apartment waiting for her to come down. He had personally come to pick her out of Jeff’s party. Hazel’s eyes sparkled as she ran from the window to quickly pick up a jacket to head downstairs. "Fuck I forgot, tonight is Jeff’s party." She cussed.
That’s right, it was all a nightmare, and she was still alive and about to have her first overdue date with Lucian. He was still as handsome as she remembered him, with his blonde hair glowing under the night street lamp and those emerald eyes carrying a hint of mischief.
She ran for her door and pulled it open. Her legs froze in their spot when she saw a tall figure with jet-black hair and gold eyes standing there. "Who are you?" Hazel asked the strange man who was dressed in contemporary clothes; it was a body-fitted tailor-made Italian suit that screamed luxury.
He had a gold mask on his face and this strong feeling of dread immediately took over Abrielle. The man was gorgeous with his perfect body, and his half-covered face didn’t even hide his charms in the least way.
He was way larger than her slender frame; Hazel had a strong feeling she knew this stranger, but from where? Lucian’s bike honked again. Her crush was waiting for her and this stranger was blocking her way.
"Please, can you excuse me? You are blocking my way." She requested from the stranger, who smirked at her, amused by her statement.
He reached out for her chin and, making her stare at his gold eyes that were drawing her, and it seemed like she had fallen into his trap, forgetting about her dear Lucian waiting to take her away.
"Dear wife, stop this nonsense. It’s time to wake up; there is no escaping your fate that lies in my hands. YOU. ARE. MINE." He declared and her eyes went wide. "Cedric," she mumbled and he smiled.
"Yes, princess," he answered, and everything faded away. There was no escape from the devil.

Abrielle’s eyes shot out with panic in them. Her mouth was open as she started to gasp for air like she had just run a marathon with her entire body drenched in sweat.
She was still sinking into reality when she felt a pair of arms pull her into a hug. "What took you so long to wake up?" She heard his weirdly concerned voice. What the hell was going on?!
