The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband -
Chapter 41: Journey of the Villainess
Chapter 41: Journey of the Villainess
While being completely oblivious to whatever schemes were in Abrielle’s mind, Cedric didn’t like the hunt. It explains why he would rather spend his time fighting a barbarian than be surrounded by a group of power-hungry nobles.
"That’s a nice offer, but the king also delegates his representative, and since the hunt is going to be during winter, I am not sure my wife will be fine with it, considering how vulnerable she is to cold." Cedric wanted to politely decline, using Abrielle as an excuse.
Yes, the Villainess had a weak constitution against cold but dear Abrielle was ready to fight the elements to change her fate.
"I guess that will be a shame..the winter hunt being in the middle of the snow can be cold but it’s a fun social gathering to end the year. " Rudeus said in a sad tone.
Abrielle’s grip on Cedric’s arm tightened, causing him to look down at her, and she was surprised to see her staring at him with glassy eyes and a cute pout.
She was trying to act cute, and without a doubt, Cedric had a strong urge to pull her cheeks, but he still felt the winter hunt was a bad idea.
Duchess Rebecca gave him an ear full about taking care of her only pampered daughter, which he has been doing badly at, but one thing the Duchess repeated was that Abrielle should be kept away from the cold.
As a child during winter, little Abrielle was always indoors close to the fireplace because she easily caught a cold or flu because of her weak constitution. Her parents suspected that was the reason why Abrielle was unable to wield holy power despite being from a holy Nightshade family.
Due to her inability, Abrielle completely lost her right to inherit the duchy, and it was given to her male cousin. If Abrielle was the successor there was no way she would have been married to a noble of higher status like Cedric because she would be the duchess.
"I am curious about the winter hunt. I have never attended a hunt before." Abrielle mentioned. Her sentiment touched the Danbury couple, and of course, Cedric was put in a difficult position because his wife truly wanted to attend the hunt.
"When will the hunt start?" He inquired; although it was still autumn, snow might be covering the plains any second from now.
"As soon as the first snow of the year arrives, invitations will be sent." Fiona excitedly replied she was looking forward to getting closer to the princess and building a royal connection
Although Abrielle didn’t have a good reputation and had done a lot of things to abuse her power as the holy daughter of the Nightshade family she was still considered top of the ladder by the noble ladies due to her family influence and fashion sense.
"We will be expecting your invitation, but if my wife changes her mind, we will immediately withdraw from the competition," Cedric informed the Danbury couple.
Abrielle’s eyes sparkled not just because she had to make plans for some unexpected accidents to happen but also because she would be experiencing an actual hunt event. It was a win-win.
They bid farewell to the Danbury couple that quickly left the winter castle. "Why are you smiling?" Cedric asked Abrielle as soon as they were alone puzzling her.
She touched her face, and indeed, she was smiling. "Is there anything wrong with smiling, dear husband?" She replied to him. She had the urge to throw up after she addressed Cedric as Dear husband. She said it so sweetly that it almost seemed genuine.
"It is a genuine smile and not the fake one you always have on," Cedric mentioned leaving her further puzzled as her brows pulled together. Abrielle didn’t say anything because she rather had nothing to say.
He escorted her back to her room door and then excused himself. "Unfortunately, I will not be able to accompany you today as I have to handle the aftermath of the Khaos attack," Cedric informed Abrielle and then left a quick peck on her cheeks before leaving.
She just didn’t understand what was up with this villain who loved stealing kisses. Her face blushed brightly as she ran into her room. She didn’t want to think much about Cedric; maybe the reason he was acting out of his character design was because the official prologue of the book was yet to start.
Abrielle knew this because she was the author of this book, and second, there was a blue screen in front of her, which she was the only one able to see.
YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY SPENT A NIGHT WITH THE FIRST PRINCE AND SURVIVED YOUR FIRST WEEK HERE BEFORE THE ACTUAL PLOT OF THE DRAGONS AND PRIESTESS.
ARE YOU READY TO ACCEPT YOUR PRIZE OR DELAY IT FOR A BETTER PRIZE?
Abrielle thought it was a dream earlier when she saw the notification pop up before her death. So this was truly transmigrated into her novel with a system. This was crazy, and honestly, this was the dream of any Isekai fan dream, except for the fact she was the villainess of this story. Why couldn’t she be the female lead or, rather, a good supporting character?
Abrielle was a bit hesitant about what to choose, but she had an idea that if she delayed the gift, it would be a better reward.
She selected the option to delay for a better reward.
WELCOME TO THE PROLOGUE OF THE DRAGONS AND THE PRIESTESS DEAR AUTHOR.
TITLED THE JOURNEY OF THE VILLAINESS.
THIS WORLD IS FREE FROM THE RESTRICTIONS OF THE NOVEL UNTIL THE PLOT BEGINS.
DO YOU WANT TO PROCEED OR END (DIE)?
Abrielle had a bad feeling about this; what did it mean by Die? She swallowed hard. She had no idea how to proceed because she didn’t want to die.
THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING PROCEED.
TO GET A BETTER REWARD, COMPLETE THE HIDDEN QUEST.
DO YOU ACCEPT THIS QUEST OR DECLINE?
Abrielle didn’t know why, but she felt that this existence of a system was going to be a pain if she wanted to survive her book plot.
