Chapter 394: End of Sumaria
Chapter 394: End of Sumaria
"He will be fine," Abrielle shrugged walking away from the portrait. She could not change the incidents but could quicken the pace. Cedric could handle the Sumaria army without a problem.
Cedric was a menace to society. It wasn’t something she was proud of, but what could she do? "Evelyn, what is the shortest time it has taken Cedric to defeat an entire army?" She asked the maid..
Her hands were folded in front of her.. Abrielle’s poise was elegant. She didn’t seem like someone who should be worried that her husband was about to get entangled in a crazy scheme.
Evelyn’s forehead creased, and she seemed to be in deep thought. "If my memories serve me right, there was a war where he ended in 6 hours then raided the land for a day. " Evelyn recalled making Abrielle smile.
"He better handle this one well," war was Cedric’s life and name. He grew up on the battlefield.

Without insider information, the battle against Sumaria was child’s play. Cedric had predicted the peace talks would fail although he never thought they would do it by framing the death of the king on Elias
"Where is the support?" One of the commanders of Sumaria screamed. They are losing ground here if they didn’t stop Darconia the kingdom would be evaded.
"We are completely surrounded, we can’t get support." A soldier said, horror filled his eyes watching the massacre.
Cedric had lured the army trapping them in a valley with no way of escape.
The commander glanced at the cliff ends above them. Men carrying the Darconia flags surrounded the area. "It is coming!" Someone cried.
The sky was dark, Darconia was a large kingdom, and there was a time difference. Sumaria had thought that if they attacked at night, they would be at an advantage since they knew the terrain better.
They were so wrong about that. Darconia outsmarted them, declared a peace talk, then assassinated the king.
The commander felt it was all a plan of conquest of Sumeria. A glint drew the commander’s attention, and in the north of the canyon, his eyes saw him. Dressed in black armour that blended in the night on a black horse. Cedric watched them get defeated.
His jaw clenched, anger raging in him. Cedric was holding a torch in his hand. He raised his free hand and the soldiers engaged with the enemy, who retreated.
The commander’s eyes went wide understanding what was about to happen. He pulled his horse, his heart pumping blood. Then screamed at the top of his lungs. "RETREAT IT IS A TRAP." He screamed at his soldiers, who were surprised why the enemy was retreating.
Chaos ensued, the army sensing something was wrong. They struggled to escape. It was like a stampede, but where could they go?
Cedric watched this with a neutral expression. "They already know what is coming." Alfonso chimed from the side, he was amazed at how Cedric could predict the king’s death and a possible sneak attack.
"It is useless. A last attempt at escaping. Have you heard anything from Eris?" He asked his brother, who was dressed in a custom red armour that suited his style.
Cedric had sent Eris to lead a group preventing reinforcement from arriving.
"Last I heard, they have things under control on their side. It is time for the final act. The end of Sumeria." Alfonso’s eyes darkened, an evil look lingered in his eyes a contrast to the playful Alfonso, Abrielle knew
He was still a cunning, cold-hearted general. Cedric scoffed. He and Alfonso did have their problems, but in times like these, they kept their differences aside.
"Ready the archers," Cedric Instructed then dropped the torch into the canyon. The army was still stuck there. They couldn’t escape when they were surrounded. It was a simple torch, they didn’t think much of it.
Before it touched the ground, Cedric’s gold eyes flickered and thick black flashes burst out immediately, trapping them completely. The black flames were towering, the heat suffocating
Then, like a rain of arrows, they came raining down. The fire stood like a barrier preventing them from having any slight chances of escape.
Screams echoed in the canyon, "barrier spells are not working." One of the soldiers screamed. His arm was numb from the arrow wound
"It is pointless. This is his fault." The commander sighed, giving up to his fate. Cedric’s flames were stopping them from using protection magic.
Back on the cliff, Cedric pulled his horse. "I will attack the capital while you handle the border. That should not be hard for you," Cedric mentioned. he was bored with the show.
Alfonso was still dumbfounded staring at the flames, even his magic was affected. He glanced at his brother, who had just ridden away with a part of the army, ready to raid the kingdom of Sumaria.
Alfonso was terrified. Why were Cedric’s spells this powerful? It didn’t feel like magic.
The archers kept on firing, and they lit up the arrows to burn the corpse. Alfonso watched, making sure the entire army was wiped out.
After Cedric was long gone from the border the flames didn’t stop burning. The smell of ash and blood filled the air. This was the destruction he was capable of.

"As long as you can make him pay." I bravely said between my cries.
A playful grin appeared on his lips, amused by my pain. He was the devil, but I didn’t care. It was a risk I was ready to take.
"Anything, including giving yourself to the devil." He chirped
That should have been a warning telling me to turn back, but instead, I nodded at him. "Only a devil can handle another devil." His grin grew wider, a laugh escaping his lips.
Those evil lips parted, and each word left me more dumbfounded: "For starters, strip right here and now." My mouth fell agape, taken aback by his request. It was beyond my expectations; I was still lost in a dilemma when the devil spoke again.
"I don’t have all day, Mrs Romanov." He urged me.
