Chapter 211: I am sorry

Abrielle’s head snapped up to gaze up at him; she was startled and initially forgot the reason why she was there. " Why am I here?" She asked herself out loud. It was silly of her

.

"I should be the one asking that question." Cedric chuckled, flickering her forehead. She winced, rubbing her forehead. A cute frown on her face. "Why did you do that?" The princess whined with her lips pouted.

"You were staring blankly. " Cedric asked, moving away; he got up to the bed to sit down, his entire attention to her. "What are you doing here?" He asked her the same question Abrielle was asking herself while rubbing her forehead. She was tempted to glare at him.

She composed herself and then cleared her throat. "I came to have a conversation and not an argument," Abrielle replied. Her eyes were wandering around the room refusing to stare back at him. He was flaunting that body of his, which was drool-worthy.

She knew if she mistakenly stared at him, she would be unable to look away. She didn’t want to be distracted.

"Talk about how your journey was. I didn’t inquire about something." She replied, trying so bad not to look his way.

"Abrielle," Cedric called out for her. "Yes," she responded. "Look at me when you are talking to me." he requested. Abrielle bit her cheeks before drawing her eyes to him. Her throat went dry as her gaze secretly traced down his toned masculine chest.

This was what she was scared of; being good-looking was a sin. Why was he doing this to her? "I am staring at you now. So about the trip, my mother wrote that she was meant to travel back with you. I just generally want to know what happened during the trip. I don’t like to be left in the dark." She managed to stay while staring at him.

There was something about the way he sat that made him alluring. She held herself, this was a temptation she was not going to fall for.

Cedric smiled, this action alone threw her down and deeper into the pit of confusion. What was so amusing about her? She actually glanced behind her just to be sure that there was nothing behind her.

"You are too far off, come closer." He mentioned causing her to snap her head at him. "Why do I need to be closer? You can hear me from here." She replied, being close to a half-naked man close to a bed didn’t seem like a good idea.

"I am tired and it might take a while for me to be straining my voice." Cedric actually explained but it sounded more like an excuse to her. Regardless, she still came closer; she didn’t want to offend him, and after their earlier confrontation, Abrielle realized it wasn’t a good idea to be on his bad side.

It was unclear what might prompt Cedric to kill her. What if he ends her life because he felt humiliated that she was having an affair with his brother?

As much as she hated the idea she had to be obedient for the meantime. Maybe this might be a good thing, and they might end up compromising. She was sure that Cedric might like the idea she wasn’t an obsessive wife since his interest was Callista.

"Sorry," Abrielle replied then took a couple of steps closer.

"Still far away," Cedric mentioned, she drew in a breath and took a few more steps forward. "How about now?" She asked, standing a few steps away from him. This was already a bit too close for her safety.

"Closer," he replied; she nodded, then walked closer, stopping in front of him. They were actually almost the same eye level while she stood in front of him seated on the bed. "This has to be enough. I can literally feel your breath against my skin." She complained. She still maintained eye contact with him.

All she needed was to know when her parents would be arriving and what happened to Sapphire none of this was necessary.

"It is still not close enough," Cedric answered.

She was left exasperated, "There is nowhere else I can go. If you don’t feel like talking. It is fine, I Will leave for now. Have a good night and forget I even came to bother you." She snickered, turning around to leave.

He caught her hand, surprising her. She didn’t even get a chance when she was yanked forward towards him. She yelped, "What are you doing?"

He pulled her to sit between his legs and his arms circled around her waist. What was going on? Her eyes popped out, unable to understand his actions. Was he not meant to be mad at her, or was he hornier to care about the fact she was being accused of having an illicit affair with his brother?

"You should be this close," Cedric answered, placing his chin on her head while hugging her close like he wanted to merge with her. She had indeed gotten thinner compared to the last time he held her.

That was a long time ago, and it felt like years. How long he craved to have her this close when he was in Vesper but things were never perfect for them.

"I am a bit uncomfortable, this is too close," Abrielle complained, trying to wiggle out of his hold. It was a bad idea to be here in the first place.

"We can even be closer," he said with an underlying meaning to his words. Her cheeks burned, as forbidden thoughts got into her dirty mind. "We can’t get closer than this." She retorted.

"You understand what I mean perfectly, your burning cheeks say it all." Cedric teased and her cheeks burned brighter. "I don’t," lies again, she knew what he meant. Then he crooked his face on her neck and said something she could never imagine in her wildest dreams coming from him.

"I am sorry." He said part of the words were stuck in his throat like something was stopping him from staying. I missed you because he badly missed her from the moment he left the capital.
