Chapter 210: Little Ginger
Chapter 210: Little Ginger
An act, Cedric could not understand what Alfonso was saying. He wasn’t putting on an act. "What do you mean by an act?" He asked.
Alfonso’s hands clenched, "stop acting like you care what Abrielle does. If you did, you would have sent her at least a letter, but you didn’t. She waited for your letter that never even though she would not admit it."
Cedric’s eyes narrowed, this was the same thing Abrielle had said. Had his letter never gotten to Abrielle? How was that possible?
"I sent word back to her." He muttered, earning a snicker from Alfonso.
"You never did," Alfonso stated. His eyes spotted the physician who was approaching them. "Have a good night brother."
Alfonso didn’t have the time or patience for Cedric who was left in the dark. He was lost; what had truly happened when he was gone.
What happened to the letters he wrote to Abrielle? "Your Highness, this is the information you requested. Everything you need is in here." The physician called out for his attention.
Cedric read through the pages written in the doctor’s journal while the physician waited patiently for him.
"What do you mean by she is at risk of permanent damage," Cedric asked, his heart squeezing. He remembered how frail she looked earlier. Did he make a mistake?
The physician cleared his throat and then started to explain eagerly. "I was able to detoxify a toxic Amount of the toxins enough to save her life, but the poison had some technicalities, so some remnants remained in her system, which we are still trying to heal."
Cedric’s eyes dulled a lump forming in his throat. He could sense the physician was avoiding mentioning something.
"Her body was still frail in terms of it was still recovering from a lot of stress, which triggered her miscarriage. This made her womb an early target, weakening her cervix membrane and reducing her chances of carrying any future pregnancy to full term by 50 per cent..."
Cedric’s heartbeat stopped for a second. The sounds around him faded as a dark feeling took over him. He was going to destroy them, he didn’t care that Abrielle wasn’t the primary target. They hurt her; he should not have left her alone, knowing how she easily got into trouble.
They said he had to let go and that he was the biggest threat, yet when he was away, she was still exposed to danger.

Zoltana stood by the side, watching her lady pace to and fro, muttering to herself. It was like watching a theatre play.
The first question to naturally come to your mind is why the princess was acting this way. The reason was quite simple: she was debating with herself if to enter the chamber before her or not.
This was the prince’s quarters and Abrielle was prancing to and fro at Cedric’s door. The knights tried their best to ignore the princess but this was too comical.
It was very late, close to midnight. Abrielle had stayed up the night waiting for Cedric to return from the palace and now she was hesitant to see him. She was still furious by their earlier confrontation, and that aside, Cedric naturally made her nervous.
"You can do this, he is just a man." She encouraged herself, reaching out to the handle but retreated her hand, placing it against her bosom. "What if he was still enraged by the rumours?" She asked herself.
Her emotions were a mess; she even felt like crying. Why did the Von Drakkar brother decide to make her life a living hell? "You have to do this. You are stronger than this. The worst he might do is kill you due to rage." She snapped at herself, grabbing her cheeks and cupping them in her palms.
"Fine, the worse here I come." She finally said, her face brimming with determination like she was about to fight a war. She reached out for the handle and turned it until it clicked.
She drew in a deep breath before pushing the large door open. Zoltana was amused wondering if the princess wasted so much time because she forgot how to open a door.
Abrielle peaked into the room first, there was indeed no sign of the devil. She stepped inside and then closed the door behind her. "Where did that devil go?" She pouted her lips, unable to believe that she was worked up over nothing.
She was certain he was in his room. Her eyes darted around the room, she took a 360 turn until her eyes fell on the wall close to the door. "Bloody hell," she shrieked, her heart jumping from her chest; she stumbled backwards, missing her footing and ultimately falling on her butt on the floor.
During this entire ordeal, Cedric just stood leaning against the wall with a bored expression and an arched brow. He didn’t even bother to help her up not that much she expected from an empathetic jerk like him
"How long have you been standing there?" She snapped at him struggling to get back on her feet. She dusted the dust at her behind, her lips pursed. She was sure he heard her call him a devil.
"Long enough to hear a lot, to know your preferred nickname for me is devil. That is indeed an interesting name." He sneered, straightening his back. He was wearing just his trousers and was completely shirtless. his hair that grew to his back below his shoulders poured over his chest.
His hair had grown longer during his trip. Abrielle nervously laughed, averting her eyes from him. "It was a bad joke," she blurted.
"A bad joke, the same about killing you is the worst I can do. Trust me death is mercy for some." Cedric mentioned; her eyes went wide, realizing he heard her rant from outside.
"How did you..." She stuttered.
He smirked at her. "I thought you would spend the entire night outside. It is quite hard to sleep knowing a scared little ginger kept on ranting behind the door." Cedric Walked forward, stopping just before her. He smelled like fresh roses.
Abrielle senses the hint by the scent as she realises he has just had a bath not too long ago. She was initially distracted by his scent to acknowledge the large man who stood in front of her, completely overshadowing her.
"I hate to be ignored, little ginger." She heard him drawl, snapping her from her trance. Little ginger, when did she get a nickname?
