The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband
Chapter 142: I didn’t force you

Chapter 142: I didn’t force you

There was a slight change in the room’s atmosphere, although he tried to control it. Abrielle could sense his displeasure with the topic, and she was like a fool blind to the red signs. After all, her original character was someone who loved red flags.

"I forced myself on you." Cedric scoffed at her diverting from the question she asked. "That isn’t the main topic Cedric. Please don’t divert from the topic." She didn’t like his earlier tone when he replied.

Cedric’s gaze strayed from the plate to her table; he had a bit of a stoic expression, which didn’t hide his good looks. She was a bit distracted but quickly diverted her eyes not to stare too much. "No, I just want to understand how I forced you because, from my memories, you were the one who begged me like your life depended on it. The same way you were close to begging last night."

Abrielle chuckled at his words trying to hide her embarrassment. "I didn’t beg last night and really didn’t care or understand what you were trying to prove. I am just a woman with a functioning body that reacts the way I should." She argued back at Cedric.

Although he didn’t want to answer the question she asked earlier he did enjoy how she kept on rambling and saying little lies. "I was basically assaulted from the door that day you made me give in."

"But I didn’t force you. You seem rather free to talk about that matter." Cedric was still avoiding the topic and drawing the conversation. "There is no shame in speaking to my husband in this manner. So who is the culprit?" Abrielle pinned on the topic.

Cedric released a short breath, he was curious why she wanted to know whether it was related to one of her schemes to kill him. "It’s someone who doesn’t know her place and thinks a few drops of aphrodisiac is enough to make me want her, but don’t worry, I am not the type to forgive those that offend me."

"A tyrant would always be a tyrant, I guess," Abrielle said. She didn’t even know why she said that or if she was deliberately trying to piss him off out of frustration, but Cedric didn’t seem offended in the least way.

He ignored her comment, "By the way, you are aware that we might travel to the mountain temple for the winter prayers. The kingdom needs a lot of prayers considering all the chaos that is happening."

"That reminds me, a letter was sent from the temple by my cousin who is the high priest he wishes to see us." Cedric nodded at her words. There was a slight knock on the door followed by Elias’s voice as he informed Cedric of his urgent summon.

He has barely eaten a thing but he stood up regardless. "I have to go now. Take care." Cedric placed a soft kiss on her forehead before putting on his mask that was on the table then walked out.

Abrielle’s heart fluttered for a short line because of his actions. He was weirdly gentle, and they almost seemed like a real couple, but she knew that she would rather not get fooled by appearances. Behind that gorgeous face was a real demon.

She finished her breakfast on her own and went on with her day according to her schedule. Working with Lucas on the house expenses wasn’t difficult, but she seemed to be building a good relationship with Lucas.

Later that day, Abrielle left the castle; the carriage slowly moved through the snow while her eyes were stuck watching the endless white terrain.

Abrielle had two maids accompanying her, Zoltana and Evelyn. At this point, they were technically her official maids. She knew the main reason Evelyn was stuck with her was because of her protection. Evelyn sat with her in the carriage while Zoltana sat outside with the couch man because she was also accompanied by Lucas.

Soon the carriage stopped in front of a store. It was one of Cedric’s stores in the capital. The reason she ventured out was to visit the stores Cedric owned in the capital.

It was a luxurious clothing store and was pretty busy. The door was pulled open and Lucas helped her out. They made their way inside the 2 story building. From the outside decorations, it was obvious this was a place that could make people make a lot of bad financial decisions.

On the ground floor, Abrielle was welcomed by a rather familiar face. "Good afternoon, Your Highness Princess Abrielle. It is an honour to be graced by your presence." Aurora the same lady who dressed her up for the victory banquet welcomed her

Aurora was the manager of this store, along with several other clothing stores. She was technically Lucas’s assistant. "It is a pleasure to meet you again, lady Aurora," Abrielle answered with a smile, acknowledging Aurora’s greetings.

"The princess will love to inspect the latest supplies." Lucas chirped from Abrielle’s side. Aurora didn’t spare him any greetings, but Abrielle could sense a weird tension between these two. It was almost like they didn’t like each other.

"Of course, if you don’t mind Your Highness this way, please." She beckoned Abrielle. Aurora was dressed rather stylish compared to other noble ladies, considering the fact she was wearing an off-shoulder dress in the middle of winter. She didn’t care about the season.

"We have one of the best supplies from even outside the continent, which I oversee, but recent sales have been declining a bit after word got out that the store was being owned by his highness," Aurora explained what Abrielle was aware of; it was Eleanor’s doing. Abrielle requested to speak privately with Aurora letting them be the only ones together

Eleanor found out Cedric was generating enough income himself and didn’t rely on the allocation she controlled, so she spread some nasty rumours about him. Abrielle’s lips pouted.

It was a sad situation. Aurora led Abrielle to a small waiting room that was meant to be empty, but some strange noises were coming from inside. Aurora curiously glanced at Abrielle as they both had an idea what it was. With a mischievous smile on her lips, Aurora pushed the door open, stunning the people inside.

Abrielle did her best not to laugh when she saw the look of horror on Alfonso’s face who was in a rather compromising position with a noble lady
