Chapter 45: The Beautiful Meadow

The cool breeze greeted Annalise as her eyes fluttered open and she found herself looking up at the blue sky with huge puffs of white clouds that had hidden the sun completely.

The birds chirped nearby and the trees rustled with the wind. The air was filled with the sweet scent of flowers that were growing all over the long meadow where she was currently laying.

The sudden realization of her beautiful but unknown surroundings hit her hard as she finally came out of the slumber of her sleep.

"You are awake." A voice spoke from beside her as a muscular arm came to wrap around her waist before a soft kiss was placed against her temple.

Kenric!

She turned her head to look at the man lying beside her on the grassy floor whom she failed to notice during the initial shock state because of her surroundings.

The last thing she recalled was retiring to bed after a long shower and she did fall asleep within a couple of minutes, and now she was in the middle of a beautiful meadow that seemed like a place not existing anywhere near the entire capital city, let alone the Cursed Castle.

"What is this place?" She asked she looked at his dark brown eyes looking back at her with softness and warmth filling them.

In response to her question, Kenric snuggled his face in the crook of her neck as he replied, "Dear wife, it’s our secret place. Yours and mine." He sounded pretty proud of himself as he confessed.

Annalise would surely have asked him more about the place if not for getting distracted by his mouth that started trailing kisses against her racing pulse, sending shivers down her spin that seemed to settle in her lower belly.

His fingers traced the neckline of her outer robe before he slowly pulled it down one of her shoulders, leaving it completely bare to him as her silk chemise was a sleeveless one. His fingers then traced a fiery path down her shoulder to her arm, resulting in sparks that erupt all over her body.

Annalise squeezed her eyes shut as she tried to keep her breathing in control, forcing the sensations attacking her body to not make her lose her sanity.

His teeth grazed her skin, stirring goosebumps down her collarbone. "Kenric..." His name escaped her lips in a mere whisper that almost sounded like a plead.

He murmured something against her throat that she didn’t hear beneath the chaos rattling around and inside her. His tongue danced up the column of her throat, his touch drawing her attention to his hand that was now resting on her hip.

"Since you didn’t make the choice between the two suggestions I gave you this evening, I decided to take the liberty and invite myself to spend the night with you. You won’t mind, do you wifey?" He asked as he pulled his face back slightly to look into her eyes.

The look in his eyes, the desire she found reflecting in them, they were now far too familiar for her to not recognize, and that look no longer worried her. Instead, it brought a sense of excitement to her.

She looked at him with her still desire cloaked eyes as she whispered, "What are we doing?" She wasn’t sure if he really heard her but then looking at the smile that bloomed on his face, she knew that he did. "We? We are making love, little bird."

He dropped the words on her like a bomb and kissed her jaw, bringing her attention back to his touches and not giving her enough time to think about what he just said. His mouth slowly traveled all over her jawline before making its way to her mouth.

He moved his body to hover over hers as he settled his hips over her thighs, his growing arousal pressing against the inner side of her thighs.

Annalise was almost at a complete loss, the way her body welcomed him and his touches, she could hardly think about anything else other than him and what he was doing to her, and also... what more he could do to her.

He placed a soft peck on the corner of her lips before his mouth sealed over hers. His tongue danced along the seam of her mouth, requesting entrance. "Open up, baby. Let me make you feel good." He whispered against her lips before he once again kissed her passionately and this time, Annalise did allow him entrance.

His tongue slid into her mouth and immediately stole her breath away. The way his tongue took charge and did things to her, she couldn’t help responding. Her body arched into his as if being pulled upward by a string.

His other hand found its way to her loose hair as he kept kissing her like there was no tomorrow. He leaned his body against hers, their hips aligning. "Ever since the first time I saw you on our wedding night, I have been unable to get you out of my mind." He confessed as he drew his nose across her cheek, his breath fanning her face.

He chuckled softly before he kissed the space below her ear, his hand tightening its hold on her hip as he moved one of her legs to wrap over his thighs. A gasp escaped Annalise’s mouth as she felt his groin pressing into the apex between her thighs.

He again kissed her, taking advantage of her gasp to once again slide his tongue inside her mouth. He devoured her like that was his favorite thing to do. His strokes caused moans to slip through her lips. The kiss was long and passionate and it left Annalise wanting for more.

When he pulled away this time, they both were gasping for breath. He cupped her face with his palm as he confessed out of blue, "It may sound ridiculous... but I think I fell in love with you at the first sight, Little Bird."
