Chapter 384: Mystery of Annalise’s Origin (Part Five)

The fragment of light energy absorbed all the blood and powers that the Queen fed it, growing powerful with each passing second. The more it took, the weaker Light Queen became. Her powers were almost gone and her blood was drained out of her, still, she continued.

After certain long moments, she finally finished feeding the light energy and used the last sliver of her powers to cast one final spell, this one was to make an opening in the thin air in front of her, almost like a portal. A veil opened up, and she threw the light fragment through it, sending it to the other side.

"Go my little star, go and become powerful. But remember to return once you are strong enough to bear the responsibilities. I will be waiting here for you."

The veil closed as the Queen finished her words, and the very next second, the Queen fell on her knees on the hard ground. Her eyes finally moved toward the marking on the inner side of her left wrist and she traced it with her blood covered fingers while tears rolled down her cheek.

"I failed you, my love. I failed you." More tears ran down her cheek as she admitted her defeat to that one person she let down the most. "I can only hope for you to forgive me sometime in future. I couldn’t be a good mate to you in this lifetime, but I will repay in my next life. Wait for me."

These were the last words of the Light Queen, addressed to her soulmate - King of Darkness, before she took her last breath.

Annalise watched as once formidable Light Fae Queen slowly started losing her physical form and turned into a spirit, the same one that had been protecting the light energy for the past ten thousand years in the sealed cave of the secret Luminous Valley.

Tears were running down Annalise’s face as she felt herself feeling the slightest amount of pain that the Light Queen suffered.

The scene changed and this time she found herself following the journey of the light energy’s fragment. She watched the fragment of light sitting deep in a cave and waiting for ten thousand years for the right person to find it.

After a heavy rainfall one night, it suddenly turned into a newborn girl and the very next morning, it was found by two men who were trapped in that cave. Both these men were very familiar to Annalise.

She opened her mouth to speak but no voice came out. She finally knew her origin and all her questions had been answered, but she was unable to find any word to say out loud. She was feeling too many emotions - relief, sadness, anguish, and pity.

Her gaze shifted to the spirit of Light Queen and she kneeled on the surface of water to kotow to her. "I should apologize for taking so long, My Queen. You suffered a lot for us."

The Light Queen was indeed not her mother, but there was no denying that Annalise was connected to her through blood and powers. Their relation was just as sacred as that of a mother and her child.

The Queen looked at Annalise with warmth in her eyes and shook her head before speaking - "No need to apologize, my child. You are neither early, nor late. You are just on time. Now, I can finally hand over the light energy to you and rest."

Annalise quickly looked up at the spirit’s words. "My Queen! What about... your mate? He’s here..."

The Queen immediately shook her head, making Annalise confused for why she wouldn’t want to meet her mate. However...

"Seeing me in this state will only cause him more grief, and that’s the last thing I want. I would rather he never see me than seeing me like this. Besides, I vowed to pay him back in my next life and after this, I can finally do that."

"You..."

Annalise wondered if the Queen already had a way to reincarnate, something that had only been mentioned in myths.

"Finish what I couldn’t ten thousand years ago, my child. End this war for once and for all and bring back the prosperous days of our world. I wish you nothing but victory and happiness. Until we meet again." The Queen bid her farewell and before Annalise could have even opened her mouth to say something, her spirit disintegrated into fragments of colorful dusts and disappeared.

A blinding golden light filled the cave, forcing Annalise to cover her eyes, making her unable to see exactly where the last fragment of Light Queen’s fragment disappeared.

"Ahh!"

A hiss escaped her lips when she suddenly felt a force hitting her belly right effort warmth filled her body. The weird feeling was gone just as soon as came and before Annalise could have even tried to understand what was going on, her attention was snatched by the bright golden globe of energy that suddenly emerged out of large lotus bud and headed straight into her hand.

Annalise experienced the immense power she held in her hand and felt all the elemental stones filling her with their power. She settled down on the surface of the water and started consuming and balancing all the powers that was suddenly being forced into her.

At first, it proved harder for her to sudden take into all the powers, but eventually, she was able to relax her body enough to consume more powers. The light energy eneterdd her body and settled down in her core, regulating the elemental magic she held within her, strengthening them and making her more powerful.

Seconds turned into minutes as she continued cultivating her internal force and magical powers. The closer she was getting to competition, she heightened her senses became, and she even started hearing the battle noises coming from the Seelie Realm.

Aerold and five of his Shadowlords had successfully entered the Seelie Realm and were currently fighting with Esmeray and Valerius, while the black energy that had been trapped inside the Seelie Realm all this time was finally free to destroy the rest of the world.
