Chapter 254: Sparkles in Water (Part Three)

"What are you doing?" Annalise asked as she felt Kenric using his fire magic in the water while one of his hands moved to wrap around her waist, his touch against her bare skin was enough to make her shiver despite the hot temperature of the water and the warmth present in the air of the room.

"Let’s create some more sparkles." The third Dark Lord whispered in response with a soft smile playing on his lips before he returned his attention to whatever he was doing to the water.

Annalise was expecting to see more red, orange, yellow, and golden colored sparkly particles join the water but was left completely surprised when she saw light icy-blue colored sparkles appearing around her in the water.

"This..." She looked in wonder at the ice sparkles before hurriedly looking at Kenric who just smiled at her surprised appearance. This made her turn her attention to Valerius who was still watching both of them with a small but warm smile on his lips.

"How did you do that?" Her attention was still focused on Valerius but her question was undoubtedly directed at Kenric.

"I borrowed his element," Kenric answered her question as he gave a knowing smile to Valerius. His words made Annalise return her attention to him as she asked, "You can do that?"

Borrowing powers from others was one of the most rare incidents that had been observed in the history of the four realms and from what Annalise had found in the records, such an occurrence was last seen nearly two or three thousand years ago when a couple among the witches were able to do it.

"We can," Kenric answered as he settled down in a relaxed position in the pool before making her settle on his lap which was not the most decent thing to do considering they both were naked and now, their lower bodies were pressed against one another’s.

"This is one of the rare gifts the three of us have since birth. We share a really deep connection which always allowed us to borrow each other’s powers for a couple of hours. Though we can’t use them even half to their extent, it’s still a pretty nice hidden trick to have. Don’t you think?" Kenric explained further how the borrowing of powers worked between the three of them.

"It is," Annalise answered as she was indeed impressed just by the idea of one single person having control over all five elements - fire, earth, ice, air, and shadow.

"Can you show me how you do it?" She suddenly found herself requesting as she suddenly craved to see such rare magic taking place right in front of her eyes. She looked between the two men who looked actually amused by her request for some reason.

It was Valerius who finally answered her request and broke the silence, "I don’t see any reason for saying no to your request. Besides... I want to see if you can surprise us after this."

Annalise arched her eyebrows in question as she wasn’t sure what he meant by her surprising them. But before she could have asked, the two men were already shifting to perform the spell which made her focus her full attention on the exchange between them.

There was barely any difference in their body language, nor either of them used any spell but she could tell they had started the borrowing process as the air around them shifted. Every cell in her body was experiencing the shift in the energy around her and she knew exactly who among the two Dark Lords actually borrowed and which element.

"Earth."

She muttered right before a sapling emerged from the water and bloomed into a beautiful little plant that had soft bright green leaves that got covered in the sparkly particles swimming on the water’s surface.

"So beautiful." She whispered as she watched Valerius click his fingers which made the plant disappear into nothingness.

"How did you know it’s my earth element?" Kenric asked as he placed his chin against her shoulder and tilted his head to the side to look at her as he waited for her answer.

"I... I just knew." Annalise answered as she shifted her attention between both her husbands. "It was like something inside me recognized the element the very moment its transfer started taking place."

The two dark lords were silent for a while as they exchanged a quick look between them before Valerius spoke, "Let’s try once again. See if you can guess the element this time too."

Annalise nodded her head in agreement as she too wanted to see whether her recognizing the earth element was just a mere coincidence or if it was another unknown talent of hers.

The two men started immediately and once again everything seemed completely normal as nothing really changed except for the energy present around them.

She focused her attention on the shift taking place in the energy level and tried to see if she could who among the two men was borrowing exactly which element and she did notice it almost immediately.

"Air." She whispered the answer just a couple of seconds before a whiff of cool air passed through the room, causing her hair to flutter and her body to shiver.

"Amazing!" Kenric didn’t waste any time in showing just how amazed he was to see another talent of his dear wife. "Looks like you find another new skill of yours today."

Annalise let out the smallest of sighs as she nodded her head in agreement and a very small smile appeared on her lips. It seemed like her powers were still in the growing phase. What she couldn’t decide was whether it was a good thing or not. Just how much power did she hold inside her?

"Do you think you can do it too?" Valerius suddenly asked a question that made Annalise look at him in confusion. "Do what?" She asked.

"Borrowing our elements."
