The Veil of Darkness -
Chapter 121: Deep In The Death Valleys
Chapter 121: Deep In The Death Valleys
Seventy-three miles away from the Seelie Empire...
Death Valleys
~
Dark mist filled the deep valleys and made it impossible to see anything that lay hidden in the mysterious lands of Death Valley, a place located on the border of Seelie Realm and Midnight Realm but had been left abandoned for thousands of years.
It was rumored to be the first place outside the Seelie Realm that got plagued by the dark energy when it first started leaking through the gaps in the sealing ward.
No one in the three realms would have guessed the truth behind the fake abandoned image of the Death Valley, it was far from an abandoned place.
Deep in the valleys, several caves were carved through the mountains, and a huge place was prepared for the dark and shady work that had been going on there for centuries.
Inside one of those caves located a huge meeting room that almost looked like the throne hall considering the huge throne sitting in the very center on the other side of the hall and the two lines of other smaller seats that were sitting on either side of the black carpet that led straight to the throne.
A man clad in long black robes was sitting on the throne with more than half of his face hidden behind the hood of the cloak that he was wearing. His long silky black hair was visible as it fell down his shoulders and his lips were painted dark red that matched the paint on his nails.
A woman, also clad in dark clothes, entered the hall and went closer to the man sitting on the throne before she kneeled down on the floor and greeted the man with a deep bow.
The man let out a small sigh before he spoke in a lazy tone, "Why are you here again? Didn’t I tell you all not to disturb me unless it’s something important?" His tone was lazy but his words clearly sent the marriage that he wasn’t happy about the woman’s presence in his throne hall.
The woman bowed again before she spoke, "Master, I’m indeed here to report something important." She didn’t appear fazed by her master’s threatening words and there was a serious look on her face that matched the atmosphere completely.
"Really? What is it then? Let me hear." The man gave her permission to speak whatever she was there to report but unlike his words, he seemed the least bit interested in whatever she had to say.
Once again, the woman didn’t appear shaken by her master’s lack of interest and did her duty properly by conveying the important message that she had brought with her. "Master, tonight, Darth is going to send his men to the northern gate of the Mortal Realm."
This particular piece of the message seemed to have picked the man’s interest as his nails, which were continuously tapping on the armrest of the throne, finally stopped for a moment before continuing but that one moment was enough to tell that the message wasn’t completely useless.
"What is Amira’s reaction?" The man finally asked after several long moments had passed but his voice still sounded as bored with the topic as before.
"Master, Amira hasn’t intervened with Darth’s plan at all. She still didn’t seem to really like his plan but just like the previous times, she wasn’t either opposing or trying to stop him." The woman answered her master’s question.
The man was again silent for the next few moments before he finally spoke, "Then let him be. As long as he doesn’t lose his mind and end up overstepping his boundaries by playing with the Midnight Realm, he can do whatever he wants. Just make sure he won’t leave any mess behind him that will lead our enemies to us."
The woman nodded her head once to accept the order before she opened her mouth to speak but then hesitated.
"Just say it." The man said as he sounded bored all over again. His little interest that had appeared for a fleeting moment had once again disappeared.
"Master, why do you want everyone to stay away from the Midnight Realm? You are in no way weaker than the Dark Fae Queen, then why do you..." The woman didn’t get to complete her sentence as her voice disappeared as she felt a death grip on her throat, almost choking her to death.
"It’s good to trust in your master’s ability but you should never take your enemies lightly. As for the Midnight Realm, it’s currently the most powerful realm, and that too for a reason. Interfering with them right now means that the chances of our cover blowing up in front of the entire world will increase and we aren’t ready yet to face all of them together."
He finally retracted his powers and the woman got to breathe once again.
"Remember, we need to stay in darkness until the day of the arrival of doom of this world. And before that day arrives, I need to find both the things that I have been searching for past ten thousand years."

Annalise and her husbands booked the biggest chamber in the most popular inn in Lakeshire town.
It was only noon by the time they arrived in the town, so Annalise decided to have their lunch, and once again, her husbands joined her during the meal.
It didn’t take long before they were done with their lunch and her husbands were already stepping outside the inn to head to the Mer Court that was supposed to be located beneath the deep lakes of the town.
Not only did she have no idea about this but from all that she had learned throughout her childhood, the mers were supposed to be extinct just like the light faes.
"Are you guys not going to take me along with you?" She asked as she stared at her husbands who were getting ready to mount their horses. They were once again leaving her behind while they headed to complete their important business.
