The Vampire Prince's Blindfolded Bride -
Chapter 72: To take my wife back
Chapter 72: To take my wife back
"But I’m your sister, Alora. I need your help. What if the vampire princes refuse to help me? Will you neglect me then?" Venus quizzically glanced at her.
"Absolutely not," Alora promptly answered. She couldn’t use the powers of her eyes on a werewolf given the fact that Eugene belonged to a renowned family.
"He betrayed me, Alora. Can’t you give me justice? Your eyes are special to give lessons to such people. You want to see me live as a second woman to Eugene, a neglected wife!?" She questioned Alora.
"We will find a solution, Venus, which will be much more peaceful," she pronounced.
"Alora, what about the pain he gave me? He deserves to die," Venus said as she clutched the fabric of her gown.
"Venus, stop manipulating the thoughts of my wife," Magnus’s voice echoed in the room as he entered in and glanced at Alora. "Why didn’t you ask Venus to leave? Don’t you love me?" he queried.
"Your Highness, please hear out Venus once. I love you both. I cannot neglect the miseries of my sister. That’s why I didn’t ask her to leave. Eugene has a mate, and he wants to keep her as a mistress," Alora said as she rose to her feet. Venus too had stood up and gazed at Izaak, standing beside Magnus.
"Sister-in-law, that’s the matter between Venus and Eugene. You cannot involve yourself in such a matter," Izaak advised her. "Moreover, you did warn your sister before the marriage. So, nothing can be done now from our side," he clarified to her.
Magnus agreed with Izaak’s words and asked Venus to talk with her father, instead of involving Alora. "Also, you cannot ask her to burn any person. Her eyes aren’t to play," he sternly told Venus.
Venus lowered her eyes as she felt miserable.
Alora slowly walked toward Magnus when he himself approached her. Holding her arms, he asked, "Shall we go in?"
"No. Please help my sister," Alora requested. "Her in-laws have already started defaming her, hiding the fact that what his son is doing with my sister is wrong." She tilted her head in Izaak’s direction from where she earlier heard his voice. "Brother Izaak, could you please help Venus? Is Brother Izaak, not my friend?"
"I don’t involve myself in such matters, Alora," Izaak refused to aid Venus.
"Then, I will go to Brother Alaric for the help," Alora murmured.
Seeing how his wife suddenly turned upset, Magnus spoke up, "Do you wish to take divorce, Venus?"
Izaak chuckled since his brother truly fell weak in front of Alora’s requests.
"I want Eugene to die. He betrayed me," Venus replied.
Both the princes gazed at her with arched brows. "Then, do that yourself. We don’t want to impact the peace between the werewolves and the vampires," Magnus clarified to her.
"Divorce is a good option, Venus," Alora said.
"Alora, he has marked me. He will make me submit to him and compel me not to divorce him," Venus asserted.
"Why didn’t you transform into a werewolf then? You are already bitten," Magnus asked with a dubious gaze.
"Perhaps it wasn’t a bite to transform, Brother," Izaak replied. "Eugene must have marked her only to keep her submitted. I wonder why he didn’t marry his mate," he remarked.
"Because she belongs to a family of low status. Eugene wants to keep me by his side since I’m from a well-known family of nobles. I regret my decision for not listening to Alora that day. Please save me from this marriage. I don’t want to live with him anymore," Venus requested them as she joined her hands.
Izaak and Magnus glanced at each other. "I will look into it, Magnus. What do you say?"
Alora smiled to hear that. "Please do, Brother Izaak. I’ll be forever grateful to you," she said.
"Alright. As Brother Izaak feels is right," Magnus agreed with his decision.
Venus thanked the two princes and Alora for helping her.
"You need to inform your parents first," Izaak told her.
"I will, Your Highness," Venus said.
"Then, you shall head to your parent’s home from here," Izaak told her. "I cannot accompany a married woman," he clarified to her.
"We’ll accompany Venus to the carriage," Alora suggested, nudging Magnus’s arm with her elbow.
As they escorted Venus to the carriage, Magnus turned to Izaak and inquired if he truly wished to assist Venus.
"I need to understand what type of werewolves they are. Plus, your wife seems to have a way of winning people over. For some reason, I couldn’t bring myself to upset her either. Alora does possess a certain charm," Izaak remarked, locking eyes with Magnus.
"That’s why I couldn’t either stop myself from agreeing to her request," Magnus whispered. He looked at Alora, who had embraced. She seemed happy as if she found her lost sibling. Was it this easy to win Alora’s heart? She possessed no ill feelings toward Venus despite how her younger sister treated her. It always bothered him why Alora was so gracious and compassionate.
Venus withdrew from the hug. "Thank you, Alora. I won’t ever forget what you’ve done for me," she said.
"Don’t say that. You’re my sister. I’m grateful that I can finally be of use to you as a sister," Alora declared warmly.
"Forgive me, Alora, for always causing you pain," Venus’s eyes welled up with tears as she remembered her past behavior towards her elder sister. "I’ve never been a good sister to you. But I’ll make an effort to change from now on," she vowed earnestly.
"Really?" Alora’s heart swelled with joy at the prospect of their reconciliation.
"So, you are here!?" Eugene’s voice fell into their ears. "How long will you keep doing this, Venus? You again made me leave my work in the middle to search for you." His tone didn’t look gentle at all as his eyes gleamed yellow.
Eugene then glared at the two princes. "Greetings to Your Highnesses. I am here to take my wife back," he said.
"Eugene, you betrayed my sister," Alora said as she stepped up. "Give her divorce," she pronounced.
