The Vampire Prince's Blindfolded Bride
Chapter 59: You are my home

Chapter 59: You are my home

Alora stretched her arms out as she woke up early in the morning. She could hear the birds chirping on the balcony. Tilting her head, she found Magnus was sleeping peacefully. She kissed his cheek and got out of bed silently without disturbing his sleep.

Having a hot water bath, she felt freshened up. Selvina had already picked up a dress for her today along with the matching jewelry with it. Alora found it difficult to hook her gown from the back and decided to call Selvina for help.

"You left me on the bed all alone," Magnus said as he leaned against the door frame.

She watched him through the mirror. "Will His Highness help me with the dress?"

"Sure, darling!" Magnus approached her and stood behind her. She already had moved her hair to the front, exposing her back to him. He traced her spine from the pad of his fingers, noticing how her eyelids flutter. "I will miss you for two days," he suddenly said.

"What do you mean?" Alora asked.

"I will send you to your parents’ house for two days. Last night, you stopped me but I can’t take the risk," Magnus explained to her.

"But I can calm you down," Alora stated, looking at him through the mirror.

"I have no idea what will the Blood Moon event bring for me. It is better to take the caution than regretting about it later," Magnus asserted. "It is only about two days. Then, we don’t have to be away from each other," he opined.

"You’ve become my home," Alora pronounced. She saw him smiling. She didn’t wait to turn and kiss him this time. Her hands remained on his nape as she got on her toes to reach his face. "Let me stay here, with you, please. You won’t hurt me. I know this." Alora felt she would be in constant fear if she would go to her parent’s house.

"You don’t know me well, Alora. I had dangerous thoughts toward you last night," Magnus explained, showing his concern in his voice.

"But you didn’t do that. You stopped yourself. Also, I don’t blame you, Magnus. If I were a vampire, perhaps I have acted the same because of this approaching event. Even in your jeopardized state of mind, you didn’t wish to hurt me. You will never do that," Alora stated, refusing to leave his side. She reminded him of his wedding vows, in which she pledged to stay by his side even in the difficult times.

"Alora, I respect your choice. But you are the only human among us vampires here. That’s why I have to send you away for two days. Nothing will happen to me. I’m immortal as you know," Magnus insisted on sending her away.

Alora moved her hands down and dropped them. Turning around, she waited for him to hook her gown. He hugged her from behind and kissed the top of her shoulder. "Don’t be upset. I’ll be with you till the evening. Then, at night, I will leave," he informed her.

"Okay. That will be better," Alora finally agreed to him. Once he hooked the gown for her, she wore her earrings and a tiny necklace.

"I’ve yet to take a bath. I’ll see you soon," Magnus said and walked away.

Alora sighed and sat on the velvety broad chair. "It must be tough for the vampires and the werewolves on such nights. Why does it feel like a punishment to be a supernatural being?" She murmured.

"Lillian, you come here in the morning knowing the fact that if Magnus sees you, he is going to kick you out," Izaak said as he closed the book in his hand and gazed at her.

"Brother, I want to know if my sister-in-law is doing well. I heard Brother Magnus took the lives of some humans last night," Lillian said with a smirk.

"It seems you want to know if Magnus injured Alora or not," Izaak arched his eyebrows at her and rose from the recliner. "Go back to the palace before you face the humiliation from Magnus," he advised her.

Lillian noticed an ancient book in Izaak’s hand and asked him why he was reading it. "I thought you hated reading," she commented and appeared in front of her.

But Izaak hid the book behind his back. "Maddox has returned to the capital," he suddenly revealed to his sister.

"What? When?" Lillian was surprised.

"You should go and see him, Sister," Izaak stated. He walked out with her after placing the book inside the drawer of the table, only to be encountered by Magnus and Alora.

"Brother Magnus, you didn’t harm Alora. She is alive and safe," Lillian taunted and gazed at Alora’s covered eyes. "Do you know last night Magnus killed over ten humans? I thought you could control my brother, but as expected, you turned out to be useless," she said.

Magnus grabbed Lillian’s throat, pressing his thumb on her neck. "Shall I kill you too, Lillian? You seem to annoy me these days," he murmured.

Hearing this, Alora asked Magnus not to say that. "She is your sister," Alora reminded him.

"And that’s why she needs to close her mouth," Magnus stated.

Izaak pulled him back and stood between his siblings. "Lillian, go back. You don’t have to ruin Magnus’s mood in the morning," he suggested to her.

"I will tell Mother how badly you treat me," Lillian said and walked away while fuming in anger.

"You are older than her. You know her nature," Izaak scolded Magnus and asked him when he returned last night. He knew Magnus was troubled by what he did yesterday. However, what puzzled Izaak was that Magnus did not harm Alora.

"Prince Magnus, are you alright? You don’t need to be furious. Sister Lillian is young, that is why she speaks in such a way with me. Let’s have our breakfast. I am famished," Alora said as she slowly walked toward him.

Magnus held her hand and gazed at Izaak, "You aren’t less good than Lillian." He was hurt by the fact that even Izaak shared with Alora last night about his uncontrollable thirst for blood.
