Chapter 188: For saving Elliot’s life

Magnus came to the chamber, where Alora and her family were present. "Elliot is awake. You can see him. However, please refrain from going near him. He is newly transformed into a vampire and being around the humans can make him lose control. I hope Mother-in-law sees him from an appropriate distance," Magnus asserted, requesting Rhea.

"I understand, Your Highness. I only wish to see my son once," Rhea said.

"Then, please follow me." Magnus led their way to the adjacent chamber, where Elliot was present with Izaak.

Alaric too walked along with Magnus, telling him Alora didn’t tell her family how Elliot almost harmed her.

"Hmm."

As they entered the chamber, Elliot stood up to face his parents and sisters. Despite their astonishment at his transformed appearance, relief and joy flickered in their eyes, grateful that he was alive, even as a vampire.

Elliot took a few steps toward them but stopped, struggling to resist the intoxicating scent of their blood. "Mother, Father, I will see you again in a month. I need to train hard to control my blood thirst so I can live with you all once more," he declared.

Their eyes filled with tears, but Elliot remained composed, feeling a pang of sadness but unable to cry.

"So, he cannot come with us..." Rhea murmured.

"He cannot, sadly. Elliot is a new vampire and he can lose control at any time. It’s better for him to stay away from all of you. Also, Elliot won’t be in Velaris for a month," Magnus explained to them.

"Why?" Norman inquired promptly. "I thought our son would live in the palace," he added.

"We have to send Elliot to the training academy in Sekaris," Izaak replied. "We can keep him in the palace, but it’s for him to train among the newbies. A month at least it takes for a newbie vampire to learn the control, but it can even take up to several months. Just be patient," he suggested them while assuring Elliot’s well-being.

"We will wait," Rhea said, not wanting to cry in front of her son.

"I think tonight you all need to stay in the palace. Mother has already asked to prepare the chambers for all of you," Alaric opined. "I will show Lady Rhea and Sir Norman their chamber," he offered.

Magnus thanked his brother, who then left with Alora’s parents.

Zerah informed Magnus that he would escort Venus to the guest chamber.

"Elliot, I’ll miss you. Just come back to us soon," Venus said with a faint smile. "I’m glad nothing happened to you," she added.

"I’ll miss home too, especially the food," Elliot remarked, trying to lighten the mood.

Alora felt a pang of sadness upon hearing this. The incident made her understand why Magnus never wanted her to become a vampire; she would lose a part of herself. In Elliot’s eyes, she could see that he never imagined this fate for himself either.

Zerah escorted Venus away, leaving Alora as the only human in the chamber.

"Forgive me for attacking you," Elliot said, his eyes and tone filled with regret. He lowered his gaze, unable to look at her.

"It’s fine. I don’t mind," Alora replied, her voice trembling. She chuckled and cried at the same time. "You scared all of us," she added, trying to lighten the mood despite her tears.

"I didn’t intend to do that," Elliot asserted, his voice heavy with remorse.

"You should rest now," Alora said gently.

"Hmm. You should go first with Prince Magnus," Elliot replied.

Alora glanced at Magnus, and with a nod, the two left the chamber.

Once they were gone, Elliot turned to Izaak. "Prince Izaak, I am deeply grateful for what you did. If it hadn’t been for you, my family would have been devastated to see me dead. Thank you for saving my life," he said, his voice filled with sincere appreciation.

Izaak acknowledged his thankfulness and told him to rest till the morning.

Alora remained seated on the bed, her thoughts consumed by sadness for Elliot. Her brother hadn’t even crossed the age of 20, and yet he was thrust into this new existence.

When she heard Elliot mention how he would miss the food, it struck a deep chord within her. They could still eat like humans, but it wouldn’t sustain them entirely. Blood was their primary source of energy now, a stark reminder of the life they had left behind.

Alora tilted her head as the door thudded shut from inside, indicating Magnus’s arrival. He looked a bit exhausted as he closed the door behind him.

Alora quickly made her way down from the bed and ran to him, surprising him with a tight hug. "Thank you for saving Elliot’s life. We thought we wouldn’t see him anymore," she whispered, her voice cracking with fear.

"And I’m sorry for lightly taking my human life. Seeing Elliot, I realized why you want me to live as a human, not a vampire." Tears streamed down her eyes. She never imagined being a vampire could be such a torture.

Magnus placed his hand on her back, patting it gently to offer comfort. He then gently pushed her back, encouraging her to wipe the tears from her eyes and cheeks.

"You need not cry. Elliot is as healthy as a horse. In fact, he has become powerful," Magnus reassured her, hoping to ease Alora’s distress.

Alora wiped the tears from the back of her palms. "Did you find out who did this to Elliot?" she asked.

"I did. He will caught soon. The sketch of the Vampire is ready. Also, Elliot was pranked. So, we need to find out who did this," Magnus pronounced with a serious tone.

"Who could do this evil prank on my brother? Did someone deliberately wish to hurt him?" Alora furrowed her brows together, her anger simmering beneath those words.

"We will find out tomorrow. Now, you need to have your dinner before we retire to bed," Magnus suggested, patting her cheeks gently.

"I don’t have an appetite, Magnus. Let’s just sleep," Alora said softly, resting her head on his chest and wrapping her arms around him securely.
